Feel’s like home - except better location since Delray is hard to beat
Very comfortable home in a very good location with pool and good indoor and outdoor spaces. Walkable distance to beach, Publix, Captain Clay’s fish market, Bednar’s farmers market, French Bakery and more. We’ll be back.
Perfectly adorable cottage in a great location
We stayed here over the 2017 Christmas holiday and it was absolutely perfect for our family (2 adults, 3 kids). Sheila was very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The neighborhood was very nice, and the neighbors were friendly. There were plenty of stores nearby that were within walking distance (Publix, dollar store, CVS). The house was very clean and well stocked, even for things that I expected we would have to provide (trash bags, paper towels, laundry detergent, and basic pantry items). The kitchen had everything that we needed- plenty of Pyrex/ casserole dishes, pots and pans, measuring cups, mixing bowls, a blender (the ultimate vacation appliance), and a lot of storage and work space. The bedrooms were very cute, and the beds were comfortable, although they seemed like they were full size rather than queen size. Our 2 sons stayed in one bedroom and we stayed in the other, and our daughter stayed on the futon in the back room. She loved having her own space. I really loved the backyard area, there was plenty of seating for everybody. The pool wasn't heated, so the water was a little chilly, but the kids didn't mind at all- they were THRILLED to be able to play in the pool and were in there for hours (also we were visiting from Philadelphia and it snowed there while we were away, so really, who cares about a little chilly water). They also loved the outdoor shower. Sheila had left a little welcome packet with info and tips (i.e. the free shuttle service that will pick you up and take you to the beach and then bring you back later, so you don't have to worry about parking, good restaurants and shops, etc.)- this was incredibly helpful and a really nice touch. We used the free shuttle from the Downtowner app to go to the beach one day, and there were plenty of nice, comfortable beach chairs in the shed as well as beach toys and floats, much to my 5-year old's delight. The house is charming and decorated very nicely, but it still felt kid-friendly, so we were able to relax and enjoy our time there. It is everything a vacation beach house should be, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Thanks for the kind words, please feel free to come back anytime! We loved having you and your family!
Very nice property..
Very nice property!! We went in December and was Nice sitting around the pool.. A great place to spend time with family. would really be fabulous in the summer using the pool/out door shower and close walk /drive to the beach. I want to go back.
Property communication with the owners was great. Thanks Shelia .
The place definitely met expectations based on description. It is a little under 1 mile to beach.
The front of the house could use a little more welcoming atmosphere, but the inside and the yard are well appointed and comfortable. We especially liked the outdoor shower and the calming water feature in the pool. We enjoyed spending mornings in the back yard. The bedrooms were fine and bedding comfortable. Our son slept on the futon in the back room. Not quite as comfortable for sleeping. Kitchen had everything one would need. Though the beach and Atlantic Avenue restaurants were about a mile away, we sometimes walked and sometimes drove. In high season, parking is definitely a premium in town and at the beach. We also used the free shuttle one night, but after tip for 4 people, we decided to try and park other nights. The beach chairs provided were good. Maybe in the future bikes could be available too. It was very easy to get breakfast foods. A Publix and a CVS were in easy walking distance from the house.
Generally nice place with more space than we expected. Beds were incredibly comfortable.
The light switches were a minor irritation bc they were very convoluted and nearly impossible to figure out which went with what. Generally well stocked kitchen except for baking sheets and casserole dishes.
I'm so glad you enjoyed our house! The remote control switches are for the overhead fans that also have lights on them. We will be adding baking dishes and casserole dishes early next week, thanks for everything!
Very beautiful, comfortable, wonderful home
We stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. Sheila was a very kind and easy to communicate with hostess. Sheila's house has that cottage like feeling yet has substantial space to be very comfortable. Cleanliness is super important to us and everything was very clean. The home is wonderfully tastefully decorated, has lots of great character and is one of those places you really just don't want to leave. If I was ever in Delray Beach again I wouldn't bother looking at any other places, this would be the one for me. You're not paying the higher prices of being right down by the beach but you truly really are only just a few stone throws away. It takes a blink of an eye to get to the beach or to downtown Atlantic Avenue which is a super cool place to spend time at. A few places that we enjoyed were the Lion Country Safari Park in West palm Beach as well as the Loggerhead Marine Center located just a few minutes away from the park. We recommend visiting the downtown of West Palm Beach. Seems similar to Delray Beach but has a little variation. If it floats your boat you can go across the bridge and try to get a peek of Trump's mansion. We particularly liked the beet salad at a place called The Alchemist in West Palm Beach. In Delray Beach we recommend taking a yacht cruise ride thrue the waterway and maybe grabbing some lunch on the boat. Aside from the great town, again Sheila's place is truly wonderful and we would highly recommend it. Enjoy!
