About the property

2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Walk To Poipu Beach

A multi-hued patchwork of scenery collides with the calming waters of the Pacific Ocean and beckons visitors to islands almost wholly volcanic in origin. Great stretches of lava beds stream from the dramatic fireworks of restless Kilauea and Mauna Loa, and glistening beaches reflect glorious rainbows and spectacular Hawaiian sunsets against a backdrop of rainforests. Adventure-seekers, enticed by tropical breezes and a sense of paradise, will surf, snorkel and sail in the warm, reef-protected waters surrounding the Hawaiian Islands.

The resort is a great place to watch the sea turtles play in the surf. giant sea turtles and monk seals bask in the sun on Poipu Beach. Lounge around in the beautiful lagoon pool with a tropical cocktail. Take a water exercise or snorkel class or enjoy a workout in the fitness center.

Flowing waterfalls, a crystal clear Koi pond, and hundreds of tropical plants make The Point at Poipu appear the stuff of the dreams. Nestled in over twenty acres of lush tropical gardens overlooking the Keoneloa Bay, and buildings no taller than a coconut tree, it is hard to believe this island paradise is actually a resort! In the center of The Point at Poipu is the tranquil lagoon-style swimming pool with its own sandy beach and whirlpool spas. In a more remote nook of the resort is an adults-only spa for quiet time away from the kids. The resort also offers a complete fitness center, pool-side grill and bar, pool hut for all your pool and beach accessories, and barbecue areas.

The Point at Poipu features lovely accommodations with all the comforts and conveniences of home. Master bedrooms feature a king-size bed and large bathroom with separate soaking tub and shower stall. Kitchens are fully equipped with granite counter tops, range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, utensils, cookware, dishware, and dining area. Living rooms have complete entertainment centers, and private lanais open to the resort's lush gardens or the majestic span of the Pacific Ocean.

Kauai's Poipu offers countless unique experiences, and your adventures may include a Jeep or helicopter tour, a day at the beach or enjoying water activities such as boating and fishing, scubadiving, snorkeling, or surfing. You can also enjoy golf, hiking and horseback riding under the sun or shopping and dining in the charming local villages. Or, maybe a day unwinding at the spa is more your style - everything is possible in Kauai!

About Florence Baird

We are Diamond Time Share Owners and have stayed at The Point at Poipu many times. It is our favorite place in Hawaii. We have confidence you will not be sorry you made the decision to rent a condo at The Point.

Why Florence Baird chose Poipu

Conveniently located next to The Grand Hyatt Beach as well as walking distance to the famous Poipu Beach. You will love the well appointed units and the convenience of having a washer/dryer in the unit. The charming town of Koloa is close by (we love buying fresh seafood at the local market) as well as two shopping districts with stores and restaurants sure to please. There is a food truck in Koloa that sells the best fish tacos ever! Bring a cold beer with you to enjoy!

What makes this condo unique

Each condo is beautifully appointed, fully furnished and very spacious. We fell in love with The Point from the first time we stayed there over 8 years ago.

Kauai is the fourth-largest Hawaiian island.

It is the least populated of the state’s four counties with roughly 62,000 residents.

The island is 33 miles long and 25 miles wide.

There are three major resort areas. 1. Poipu (south shore) is the driest and sunniest area 2. Kapaa on the east side has central access to both sides of the island and 3. Hanalei / Princeville (north shore) is wetter but very beautiful.

Kauai is a favorite destination for Hollywood filmmakers; everything from South Pacific and Blue Hawaii to Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Descendants … even the animated cartoon South Park had an episode based here!

Kauai was the only island never conquered by King Kamehameha the Great. Instead, a treaty was negotiated allowing Kauai’s ruler to remain in power until his death in 1810.

Kauai had its own dialect in ancient times; they pronounced K like T … so the original pronunciation was Tauai. No one knows what it means.

Wild chickens are found all over this island; rumor states they were involuntarily released from a chicken farm destroyed by Hurricane Iniki in 1992. It has more to do though with the lack of natural predators as this island doesn’t have mongoose. For the same reason Nene, the state bird, continues to thrive here.

There are many options for activities: Snorkeling or scuba dive; ATV rentals, Luau’s, Cultural Events; Napali Coast Catamaran or Rafting, Zipline, Helicopter Tours, Hiking...the list goes on and on.....or you could just grab a cold beverage and enjoy the beach!
