Nothing short of stunning!
We drove down the paved to dirt/sand roads that led us to Eleuthera Villa. What a way to get away from it all. The house has clean, simple lines. Lots of windows, plenty of ceiling fans for blowing around the ocean breezes and AC for the warm times. (we only had to use the AC two nights).
The kitchen is a great space and the window over the sink allows a spectacular view of the Atlantic though the local vegetation. The wooden counters are spacious and there are ample pans for cooking and dishes for enjoying meals together, which we did.
The view off the "back" deck is nice too. The woods/brush and hillside are beautiful with the setting sun. We also had clear, gloriously bright stars at night. We loved finding constellations in the night sky.
Bedrooms are simple, but spacious and I love the closet in the master bedroom, with shelving for stashing folded clothes. Our friends loved the loft as well. The bathrooms are large and showers are clean and there was always hot water. Good hot water!
The side porch with the hammock swings was fun and we dragged a few chairs over to stay dry from a few fleeting raindrops.
But....the most beautiful thing of all....the view from the top deck. The ocean below was pure azure blue with pink sand beaches. We had coffee on the deck in the morning and also drinks in the afternoon, when everyone was cleaning up from a day at the beach. Morning sunrise was inspiring...for those who like sunrises! I liked sleep.
The Eleuthera Villa is a paradise on a quiet, beautiful island. The walk to the beach is rocky, but sturdy shoes make it simple. The sea grapes that surround the stairs offer a feeling of a deep forest.
We had a marvelous time and enjoyed all aspects of the property. Everything about this property is meant to make your vacation relaxing and enjoyable. There's something for everyone! Cecil was helpful and responsive. Evidently there was a DVD stuck and he managed to 'fix' the DVD player so we could watch a movie.
THANK YOU ALL!!! We look forward to our next visit.
Suzi you were a pleasure to host and thanks for your awesome 5 star review and great detail and time you put into it. Come back and see us anytime and so happy you loved our place and the island and were able to get some break from the dreaded Covid19 outbreak in the States. All the best to you and your family.
Wonderful Villa with Great Views
We have been coming to Eleuthera for over 7 years. This is the first time we stayed on the north end of the island. the home is very private and sits up on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The home is extremely well designed and comfortable. The views from the "sun deck" are amazing. The prevailing winds keep you cool as you enjoy the sunshine and keep the no-seeums away at night as you star gaze. It is close in proximity to a couple of wonderful beaches and the pricey resort called The Cove. So, you can grab a cold drink and then head back to the house to make your own dinner with the well equipped kitchen. This is a wonderful location and the communication with the owners was some of the best I have encountered with a VRBO/HomeAway property owner. We had no problems while we were there.
Kurt thanks for your awesome 5 star review. Glad you loved our property and our services as hosts. Please come see us again anytime.

We loved the views from Eleuthera Villa! What a treat every morning to get up and see where we were. A beautiful place to gather with our friends. Also, we loved the easy access to Surfer's Beach. It is beautiful and the swimming amazing. Tommy and Marielbys are great hosts and responded quickly to any and all questions and gave us a very informative packet on the area before we arrived. Most helpful. Their caretaker, Cecil, is wonderful . He was right there when and if we needed something. We will definitely be back. Thanks for everything.
Sarah thanks for staying with us and your lovely review. Come back anytime.
Perfect spot to begin and end your days while exploring Eleuthera!
This property was all we hoped it would be. It was a unique, private, clean, comfortable home base with beautiful views. This was our first time on the island, so we were on the go a lot, trying to see and experience all Eleuthera has to offer. While we didn't spend a lot of time at the house, it was the perfect place to begin and end our days with walks on the beach, riding the waves, and enjoying the views from the decks. We loved going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean.
Some of our favorite adventures while staying here were:
-boat day with Ryan Neilly (Spanish Wells Fishing Charters)
green turtles, swimming pigs, big starfish, Budda's Snack
Shack on Spanish Wells (best Grouper ever for me)
-Governor's Harbour Fish Fry- We had dinner before at
Buccaneer Club(yum) and then bought snacks, drinks and
souvenirs and danced in the street at the fish fry...such a fun
island party atmosphere!
-snorkeling in Sweetings Pond-really cool...seahorses and
-Hatchet Bay Cave- same parking area as Sweetings-fun to
explore- glad we had our headlamps
-trip up north to Sapphire Blue Hole (fun jump), Preacher's
Cave (neat history), Tay Bay Beach and Ben Bay Beach (both
beautiful with good snorkeling)
-Lighthouse Beach-rough road in, but just take it slow. It is
worth it...beautiful views from up on the cliffs and cool place
to hang out on the beach...had our own little cove in the cliffs
to relax in and swim from. Had a great meal at Frigates in
Rock Harbor on the way back and enjoyed the sunset.
-Gaulding Cay Beach-so pretty and clear on a calm day and
great snorkeling around the rock island, especially at high
tide...make sure you go under the ledges. That's where all the
cool fish are. Also loved Daddy Joe's across the street from
GC for both lunch and dinner.
-exploring Current cut and surrounding area, beautiful
scenery, strong current you can see from land, great
snorkeling spots and beaches
-Other places we really liked were Monica's Dis n Dat (pies,
breakfast sandwiches, french fries) , Surf Shack(dinner), Da
Corner Cafe, and the Island Made Gift Shop in Gregory Town,
and Tippy's (dinner) and Da Perk (breakfast) in Gov Har
-We also had some really nice, memorable interactions with
locals, so take the time to have a chat:)
Thanks to Marielbys and Tommy for all your help with planning this trip. Our family made so many memories we will cherish forever!
Mindy thanks for your awesome 5 star review and the time you put into it.
Please come back anytime and thanks for being a great guest.
We enjoyed our time on the Island of Eleuthera and and our rental from Tommy and Marielbys. The house and views are exactly as the pictures depict. We enjoyed the beach below a few days however, recommend travelling the island to many of the other fantastic beaches both on the Atlantic and Caribbean side. There is a book in the home provides names etc. of all the great experiences.
A couple recommendations for the home would include on site laundry, a few more drinking glasses, different bedding, and a few more details regarding groceries and maps for the great beaches.
The home is located very close to Gregory Town however, once leaving pavement, it’s 6 minutes of slow going on some rougher than normal terrain. Some may not enjoy the isolation. We loved it and is one of the reason we choose Bahamas. The beaches are generally all yours.
The trail from home to beach is a 3-1/2 min walk done the hill on a trail carved out of rock and includes some man made stairs. My 80 year old father would not be able to navigate the hike however, most others should be able to manage.
Everyone we met including Tommy the owner were fantastic and willing to help with directions, instructions and advice.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and would always recommend the Bahamas as a great winter destination.
We are very close to Gregory Town which is such a picturesque and beautiful settlement on the island. Winslow Homer the famous American water color painter spent time in this area painting because of the beauty.. There is much to do in this area of the island. There are fantastic beaches, great snorkeling and diving along with excellent restaurants and bars and some great surfing depending on the time of the year.

About Marielbys Maniglia
My name is Marielbys and I fell in love with Eleuthera after the first time my husband took me there. He first came here in 1971 and has been coming back ever since. Our family loves the peace and tranquility, stunning beaches and friendly island people. After purchasing our little chunk of Eleuthera [raw land] we started building our island home. It was completed in January 2017 by one of the island best builders. We have enjoyed countless adventures with our kids and family and friends. We hope you both enjoy and respect our home while making your own adventures. Happy travels.
Marielbys Maniglia purchased this House in 2016
Why Marielbys Maniglia chose Gregory Town
Secluded and private yet near town with lots of activities, bars and restaurants. There are a lot of beautiful views and vistas on the island, but none can equal the awe inspiring vantage point from our bluff over looking the point at Surfer's Beach. There are no words to describe it. You just have to experience for yourself to see what we mean. Everyone says the same thing....it is awesome!
What makes this House unique
Incredible views, sunrises and sunsets from our multiple decks, a beautiful home, nature everywhere, outdoor shower and an optional apartment. Outside grill. Aside from our amazing beach, some of the island's top beach spots and restaurants are all close by.
