Originally built in 1947, this one owner cabin was the former residence of music composer Franklin Lacey and one of the highest homes of Los Angeles.
Nestled at the end of a private and gated narrow dirt road, the house is perched at the edge of a promontory that separates Hollywood Hills from Beverly Hills.
Upstairs, 2 bedrooms wrapped with beautiful windows with panoramic views of Beverly Hills and the ocean. Next to it, the main living room with a wood burning fireplace leads to the big outside terrace / lounge area.
Off the main upstairs kitchen is the second TV living room decorated with vintage Moroccan rugs and custom lounge modular sofas. The 60 inch LCD TV has a DVD, Apple TV and Netflix all set up. Also, if you want to play music, both living rooms have powerful speakers set up that connect wirelessly to your computer or iphone.
The lower unit has its own private entrance with a large living room, dining room and bathroom as well as a large glass bedroom with the best views of the city. Outside the studio, a large private manicured yard with complete 300 degree views of all of LA. From downtown to the ocean to the valley.
Inside the house you feel as if you were living in a huge tree house built onto an array of trees. From every window you will see stunning city and mountain views framed between large branches where hawks, crows, hummingbirds, and even owls often land and rest outside the window.
The span of the view encompasses everything between Long Beach / San Pedro harbor passing through downtown LA, Palos Verdes, Catalina Island, Venice, Santa Monica, Century City, Pacific Palisades, Beverly hills, Santa Monica mountains and then the San Fernando valley. The only thing you cannot see from the house (but you can from the driveway / dirt road) is the Hollywood sign and the Griffith park observatory.
The dirt road is used by neighbors (and some celebrities alike) to walk their dogs or jog so you feel like you are living completely isolated in a park. At night owls, coyotes, and deer can be seen (or heard) roaming the area.
The complete serenity of the setting while still seeing an endless sea of city lights below and around you make it for a very incredible experience while it only takes 6 minutes to get down to the sunset strip and dive right into the everything that LA has to offer.
Because this is my home and I really care about my neighbors, I do not allow parties, or even dinner parties at this location. Absolutely no fires, inside or outside of the house. Highly illegal.
Please read the rules of the house before booking. I am very strict about these and need to make sure we are in agreement.
