This rental encompasses approximately half of the upstairs (316 square feet inside, 300 sf balcony) of the main custom-built 2450 sf home on our 1/4-acre property. Off the home's back courtyard, the unit has a private exterior staircase up to a large private balcony with stunning mountain views. The balcony has a patio table and chairs for almost year-round dining, lounge chairs and a gas grill with side burners. A private french door entrance takes you into a semi-private furnished living room with kitchenette (no stove/oven/kitchen sink). Although not a full kitchen, there is plenty of Pampered Chef microwave cookware, as well as cookware for the gas grill with side burners just outside on the balcony.
A note about "semi-private," the living room and kitchenette area is visually and physically separate from the rest of the home but there is an opening at top of one section above kitchenette (for heating purposes) so sounds travel back and forth in this area of the rental. Otherwise this is its own separate private unit with no access to the rest of the home.
Further in, you have a fully private spacious bedroom with a pillowtop queen bed and an ensuite bathroom (shower only). The whole space is airy with lots of windows and double French doors in each room opening out to the balcony and that beautiful view.
Access to shared first floor laundry room is included. Scheduled access to washer/dryer will be worked out to fit everyone's needs as best as possible. A dishpan and drying rack are included for cleaning dishes in your ensuite bathroom sink, however if preferred, the laundry room also includes a large utility sink to use as needed (generally between 8am and 8pm).
We think this unique setup will work best for visiting professors, nurses or other professionals, locals or longer-term tourists looking for a quiet temporary home-share situation but still desiring private separate space both indoors and out.

A few final notes to consider:
--The rental is in a quiet neighborhood, especially early morning and at night. We expect our guests to respect other occupants, our neighbors and our neighborhood and keep noise level low before 7am and after 10pm. If outside during quiet hours, take it inside or offsite please.
--There are plants on the balcony that require watering on average 1 time/week. You can either handle that, or we'll work out a schedule to do so.
--One of the owners, Tom, is a smoker - he smokes outdoors only but the smell can drift inside when doors and windows are open.
--We also have a cat, Dudley, who is mostly outdoors but does come inside (our area only please). However since he does come in the home, the rental is probably not appropriate if you have cat allergies.
We do not allow pets in our rentals. So sorry. Dudley wants the property all to himself and he's quite the enforcer.
