Sleeping up to 8 adults, there are two queen rooms, and one double room. The verandah bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed. All new beds, mattresses, quilts with covers and pillows. The lounge room is super comfy featuring a 3 seater lounge with chaise, a large plasma TV with CD/DVD player and spills out onto the sweeping verandas where there is a new Weber Q to enjoy an outdoor BBQ or an early morning coffee. There are two separate verandah table options.
The dining room features a large table seating eight. Great water views can be enjoyed while dining or lounging. The kitchen is impressive with setting for 12 and everything you will need to prepare your favourite meals. There are water glasses, wine glasses, beer glasses, mugs and jugs. Microwave, toaster, electric kettle, french press, and a Kenwood stick mixer. Quality knives, mixing bowls, measuring cups, and serving platters - all new. There is a 3 way bathroom with full bath and separate shower. A new toilet, basin, and taps just installed. Tea and coffee are supplied along with basic pantry items on a replace as you use basis.
At the waterside you will find a great picnic table and brazier for roasting marshmallows or even cooking on - so many options! Included in your stay is use of three adult kayaks and one youth kayak with life jackets and paddles. Also a private boat ramp for launching your own boat at high tide. A four wheel or all wheel drive vehicle is required because of the steep section of the lawn going down to the ramp.
For kids there are toys, games, and puzzles. There is a portable cot, highchair, and children's plates and cutlery. Even a little step under the basin!
The property is not fenced but the veranda can be closed at both ends for pets. Pets welcome inside as long as they stay off furniture & beds.
North Arm Cove
North Arm Cove is the gem of Port Stephens and one of the most beautiful spots on the East Coast of Australia. There is so much to experience here.
The biggest disruptions in North Arm Cove are from the extraordinary encounters you'll have with its diverse wildlife. The birdlife is amazing. You'll see and hear Kookaburra's, King Parrots, Kingfishers, Rosella's, Lorikeet's, Sea Eagles, Osprey, Pelicans, Black Swans and more. Dolphins are regularly spotted feeding on schools of fish right out in front of the Cottage.
You're only minutes from the quaint village of Tea Gardens on the beautiful Myall River. Catch the ferry across to Nelson Bay, charter a fishing boat or just enjoy the local art. There are numerous restaurants serving superb seafood. Cross the Singing Bridge into Hawkes Nest, but don't drive too fast as you might spot a Koala in the reserve on your left. Head to Bennet's beach for a surf or run your four-wheel drive along the beach to Myall Lakes National Park. Hike up the Yaccaba Headland for panoramic views to Newcastle and beyond. You'll be able to spot dolphins and also whales in season from this location.
Drive north a few minutes from Hawkes Nest and you're in the National Park where you'll see Dingo's and can net prawns in the lakes.
Bring your fishing gear as the fishing options are endless. The Cove is great for Whiting, Bream and Blue Swimmer crabs. Just around the corner near Middle Island you'll encounter Jewfish. Longtail Tuna cruise through the bay in season as do countless other species. Head outside for great Snapper and Flathead fishing, troll the islands for Kingfish, Tailor and Bonito. The waters off Port Stephens offer some of the best big game fishing in Australia.
In less than an hour you'll be in the middle of the Hunter Valley enjoying the extraordinary array of wineries, gardens, entertainment, and dining opportunities. Forty five minutes has you into Newcastle.
