You will feel pampered in Sailaway. . Chill on the deck and take in the views of the river and surrounding hills. This home is only a couple years old. It was designed with style in mind. There are 3 bedrooms, and 2.5 baths, a beautiful kitchen, and it is located just a short walk to downtown. Take in all the Hood River's core has to offer. Over-priced with partial view of river.
New apartment unit is in a complex of 6 units. Pricing high compared to the Oregon beach and central Oregon. There were several problems that were fixed when reported, except for faulty light fixture over kitchen sink. Unit had significant fewer amenities than most VRBO's rented in past: we needed to buy baggies, paper napkins, no dishrags, only 2 dish towels. The L-shaped couch in living room was comfortable, but very deep and no additional seating. Location quiet when trains aren't running. Deck has limited seating due to small hot tub and BBQ, both of which needed repairs. There is no guest parking except up the hill about a block away, and that also is very limited. Our reservation process reverted to "Sailaway" which charged an additional $120 booking fee above that of VRBO. The manager was responsive to our requests, but felt we should have not had to ask. This property is more appropriate for owners than rentals, although the parking situation would eliminate consideration of purchase. The unit is not appropriate for young children or any person with any mobility or recent injury issues; once upstairs in main living area there would not be sufficient space for kitchen access or for seating.
Unit appeared clean, with exception of hot tub. We would not consider revisiting these units.

The property was perfect. The house was clean and in a great location. Amy was a pleasure to deal with- very responsive and accomodating. I would rent this house again if we are ever back in the area. It was perfect.

Excellent Views, Convenient and Very Comfortable
My family and friends loved Sailaway!
It was a perfect location for exploring Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge. We took advantage of the location to find some beautiful local swimming holes on hot days and as a jumping off point for hiking to waterfalls, kayaking on the Klikatat River and rafting on the White Salmon. It's very close to "The Ruins", an event location associated with a winery which has music on Tuesday evenings. We visited Marchesi Winery on the recommendation of the host and it was a beautiful spot with nice Italian varietals. Sailaway is an easy walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants and shops in Hood River.
We had six adults at the property; two parents and four grown college-aged children and fit very comfortably. The home itself was beautifully decorated with comfortable and attractive furniture in a quiet location. From the picture window, there is a gorgeous view of kiteboarders on the Columbia River (during the warm months anyway) and the bridge to White Salmon, WA. The property managers were very attentive to the one little request we had and were able to get us in to the property early. Please understand that their ability to do so was dependent upon the prior travelers departing early -- but it was much appreciated!
