About Tom Moldovan

We love to travel and discover new people and places. We also love nature and all life, skiing and hiking. We grew up in Transylvania, surrounded by the beautiful Carpathian Mountains, but we have been working a living in Metro Atlanta for the past 12 years. We have been married 24 years and we have a teenage son, soon headed for college. Leia our Labrador Retriever and our two cats Luke and Arya, complete our family.

Why Tom Moldovan chose Columbia Falls

During a hiking trip to the majestic Glacier National Park and Canadian Rockies this summer we simply fell in love with the place and it's surroundings. We immediately decided to find a vacation home in the area and reserved one day for property hunting. We discovered this little miracle of a cabin that was wonderfully maintained and cared for by the previous owners. We are so thankful to them.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is located in a relatively remote area, 8 miles north of Columbia Falls, in between Glacier National Park and the Whitefish Ski Resort. A small creek borders the property and the silence and the night sky are simply amazing. The area is excellent habitat for wildlife, mainly elk, deer and birds, but also the occasional moose and it is rural and serene with mountain views and amazing outdoor recreation possibilities nearby. All this while featuring most comforts of modern life. The log construction is really solid, build in rare Scandinavian style, with great views from the main living area, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and true mountain living. Cabin is also ideal for access to the less traveled North Fork side of the park, especially the beautiful Bowman and Kintla lakes, true gems in the wilderness.

Wonderful cabin, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for sharing your lovely cabin. The location is great, easy to walk to trails and local lakes, short drive for groceries and eating out in Columbia Falls or Whitefish.

Was cold when we arrived but warmed up and stayed warm as long as we kept the wood burning stove well stoked. Everything we needed. Thank you again

Wonderful 10yr Anniversary trip!

  • 5 of 5

We spent our 10yr Anniversary at the Astrid Cabin. It was everything the website said it would be! It was beautiful and so relaxing. Would definitely bring our family back here to share with them.

Clean, relaxing, great location!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What a treat to stay in this spacious, very clean, well appointed, relaxing cabin! Location was great, and for us, it stereotyped the Montana experience. Log cabin, mountains, stream running through the property, and getting away from the hustle and bustle of life. Just a few minutes from town with several restaurants and a good grocery store. It's also an easy drive to Glacier National Park and all the treasures that park offers. The owners were great to work with and the whole experience was exquisite. Thank you and we hope to return sooner than later!

Fabulous Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was wonderful!! Coffee on the deck in the morning with the birds chirping and sounds of the nearby creek - so peaceful and relaxing. The interior is very nice and clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Short drive to Glacier Park so location is great too.

My wife and I came up here for our honeymoon. It was so much fun. Plus with all the dirt roads to explore and Glacier National Park right around the corner, there's plenty to do for those who want to be outdoors. The creek running though the yard was a really quiet, relaxing place to sit. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

Perfect comfy cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

We spent almost a week at the cabin and couldn't have asked for a better vacation! The cabin was just as described, with a great view! Perfect location for getting into town, going to the Whitefish Ski Resort or just staying at the cabin to relax and play in all the snow we had! The cabin was clean and had all necessitys one would need when going on a trip! We had a great time and experience and can't wait to return!
