About Monique Pyle
I was born and raised in New York City area. I spent most of my adult life in Manhattan and when I decided to move to New Orleans it wasn't a hard decision. I have been visiting New Orleans for 20yrs so it was my second home. I have never regretted moving here and actually feel like I have lived here longer than 4yrs. New Orleans has everything you could want with that small town feeling. The food, music, people, festivals, and parades just continue to make this wonderful city thrive. If you don't live here you wish you did and if you do you are thankful everyday. I am happy to be the Property Manager and will do my best to make your stay wonderful.
Monique Pyle purchased this House in 2000
Why Monique Pyle chose Carrollton
LOCATION,LOCATION, LOCATION!!!! This is a real New Orleans experience. You are staying in a historic New Orleans home. The house is located in the town of Carrolton. Oak st was the main shopping district for the town many years ago and has had a wonderful resurgence and most of the historic building have a wonderful variety of businesses that you will enjoy. There are many restaurants, a wine bar, the best music club in town, 2nd hand stores, art galleries, gift shops, coffee houses, a hair salon even a shoe store. ALL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM YOUR DOOR.
What makes this House unique
As someone who moved here four years ago, I spent alot of time visiting prior so I know what a visitor should experience. I love to make restaurant suggestions, where the best music will be, what festivals are happening AND WHERE THE LOCALS EAT, DRINK AND PLAY. I am available to help with any questions you may have. Just ask and I will do my best to fulfill your wishes.

Fantastic House, Wonderful Owner!
We had a truly great vacation in New Orleans thanks to Jacques and Monica, and their terrific house! This shotgun style house was perfect for us and our adult daughter. It is located in a hip section that is convenient to everything New Orleans has to offer. Jacques was incredibly hospitable and went way beyond what one would expect. While there, you must go to Jacques-Imo's restaurant across the street. You won't be disappointed. I would recommend this house without reservation!
Great property and location
The shotgun house is on Oak St. right across the street from a fabulous restaurant, Jacques-Imos. The property is clean and has two very comfortable bedrooms. In addition, there is a great kitchen and huge TV in the living room! Bikes are provided to explore the neighborhood. It is a very unique and truly New Orleans experience. We got a special treat when Jacques (restaurant owner) came over and offered to set up a table and provided dinner on our front porch! It was an incredible experience and one we will never forget. Other neighborhood restaurants you should not miss are Breads on Oak and Cow Bell.
Amazing Oak Street location
We stayed at this property on Oak Street during Jazzfest 2017. The hosts were responsive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was a fantastic stay. If you ever wondered what is would be like to live right across the street from the famous Maple Leaf bar (...and Jacques Imo's world famous restaurant and Frenchy's art gallery...) then you have to check this place out. More amazing nightlife right out your front door than you could ever imagine.
Perfect for our stay!
Perfect for our Tulane visit! Also, easy access to downtown restaurants and Magazine. We also love Oak Street and the convenient restaurants and stores. We didn't cook but it looked as though there were plenty of pots and pans, dishes and such. Get reservations early at Jaques-Imos across the street as we had a two hour wait on Friday night. A little noisy on weekend nights but we enjoy the vibe and the central air/ heat fan knocked out any noise in the bedrooms. The beds are very comfy. I have severe back pain from a wreck so it is hard to sleep away from home but I had no problems here. Loved the large tub for soaking too. Plenty of hot water and towels. We sat on the front porch and enjoyed the evenings and also took in a few movies on the leather couches watching the huge TV with many movies/shows available. A great place; roomy, with closet and drawer space, very safe and parking was easy for our huge SUV. Monique is the best host! She called the day before to give us instructions and texted during our visit to see if all was ok. She is so easy to work with and responded promptly to questions. Enjoyed our time in this NOLA home. Hope we find it open for our next visit!
So comfy and in a great location
Our second stay here did not disappoint. Love the location and accommodations.
The house is located in the heart of Oak Street. Across the street is the Maple Leaf Bar and famous Jacques Imo's next door. Two blocks away you can get on the New Orleans Streetcar, which will bring you all the way to the French Quarter. You can also use the streetcar to bring you to Robert's Grocery Store and historic Palmer Park. You are within walking distance to coffee shops and Walgreen's.
