Great vacation spot!
Headed down to siesta key for a wedding. This place is just as described! Great location. We were able to walk to the restaurants and bars. Also, it was great taking the bikes to the beach.
Lauren was very responsive and accommodating!
Perfect for a Girls Getaway!
This cute Siesta Home/Cottage was absolutely perfect for our girls stay in the Siesta Key this past weekend! The pictures do not do this place justice! So much cuter and cozier in person! Perfect location with a close and easy walk to the beach or Main Street! Also, Karen was a great help with any questions we had (just a phone call or house away)! Lauren supplied us with every beach accessory possible as well as bikes to ride leisurely around the key or use For a quick trip to the Siesta market. Lauren was also able to suggest GREAT recommendations for popular places to either eat or drink at on the key :)
Us girls were very impressed and made ourselves at home...we did not want to leave! Definitely would recommend this place for a group of women who just want a ladies getaway or even for a family on a beach vacation :)
Great property and accomodating owner!
Our family had a fabulous time in Siesta last month! The home is equipped with plenty of towels, a beautiful pool, plenty of beach chairs, bikes and the ability to stay up on your laundry which was very helpful with a toddler! We enjoyed the close proximity to the beach, village and features this home offered. I would highly recommend it and hope to return again soon!
Wonderful home with a great location to shops, food and beach!
We stayed at the Seahorse in March with our two daughters, their friends and their son/daughter and we absolutely loved our stay. Plenty of towels, bedding, beach chairs... everything was as you see in the pics and description and it's a beautiful home. Walking to the beach with small children could be challenging but it's a straight shot to the public access to the beach and we did a drive and drop a few times when our littles' legs (our ours) were tired. Overall a great experience and we would stay again. Lauren was very kind and accommodating and we appreciated that as well. Great spot at Siesta!
When we arrived the house was not ready. Maid was still cleaning at 3:00pm. She locked one of the bedroom doors from the inside. Homeowners boyfriend came over and worked on unlocking the door for an hour until successful. Said he would drop by to get his motorcycle out of the garage some time. Another friend came over to check on the pool while we were there. Boyfriend did come over when we were not home and entered the house. We felt like we had no privacy. Now homeowner has sent me text message claiming I damaged the entertainment center by using scotch tape to put up decorations. Wants me to pay her for repairs. All of the closets and dressers were filled so we could not unpack our stuff for a 10 day stay. Never again will we use HomeAway.
Unfortunately, David Greenwood and his family did not respect my home and caused some significant damage. (Read the bottom for the review David sent me in a text) Please note that this is my primary residence and the furniture, amenities and comfort of the home are quite superior to a property that is a 100% rental property.
The damage that was done was as follows: His dog peed on several places on my carpet and in the bed, there were dried food stains on the upholstery on one of the dining room chairs and they hung Christmas decorations using scotch tape on my brand new furniture and on my newly painted walls. I only asked David to pay for the damage that the scotch tape caused to my entertainment center which was so clearly visible that you could tell there was damage. I used the cleaning fee to have the carpets and chair cleaned and I did not ask for compensation for the damage to the walls because it was not clearly visible. Only when I requested payment for the damage is when David gave me this nice review. I generally don't ask for a damage deposit because I strongly believe that people are good and will do the right thing; however, David has made me change my policies.
The reason there was an issue when David arrived is because David asked for an early check in and I tried to accommodate his request but told him my maid would still be in the house cleaning. In her rush to try to get the property ready early she accidently locked a guest bedroom door. This was fixed prior to the original check in time.
Regarding the issue of privacy, I was out of town visiting my mom for the Christmas holidays so I realized that I forgot to add water to the pool before I left so I asked my boyfriend to go over and check on it. He informed me it was low so I contacted my pool service provider, my neighbor, to go over and service the pool. All of which was communicated to David.
As far as drawer space issue there were 2 completely empty chest of drawers in the master bedroom. Each chest had 3 large drawers for David to use. The draws he is referring to are drawers that are located in a closet.
The following were texts David sent about the condition of the house.
Friday 12/23 at 9:57am - "Your house is very nice. Chris was very helpful"
Saturday 12/31 9:47 "Hi Lauren, we will be leaving in the morning, We really enjoyed staying at your place. Your maid did a very good job cleaning the house for our arrival. Thank you for the welcome tray in the fridge."
Dale T. Excellent Property - Well Maintained, Convenient Location, and Great Owner!!
A plus for any property is the owner. The owner of this property is wonderful. She is very accommodating and responsive to any request you may have. The home is comfortable, well appointed, and perfectly located for access to the shops and restaurants in Siesta Key. There is off street parking in the driveway. The bedrooms all have very comfortable accommodations. My group loved there were plenty of towels and linen. The outside around the pool was very relaxing and an enjoyable place to wind down in the evening.
The owner, Lauren is a tremendous and accommodating host. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for our small group to enjoy a friends 50th birthday golf celebration. I would highly recommend staying here.
Thank you for the glowing review! You are my first VRBO reservation so I am trilled that you enjoyed it! Btw, happy birthday!
