The house is in a great location. That is the best thing.
But the place was dirty as though it just wasn't cleaned properly consistently over many years.
My 12 month old son attempted to eat a large dead moth in the loungeroom.
The microwave and the kettle weren't working at all. This was discovered at the time of our son's dinner. When I rang the number provided, and explained our predicament, I was told it would be around two hours before they could get a microwave to me as they were out for dinner.
In desperation I went to the neighbour's house and luckily they were friendly and helpful and allowed me to microwave my son's dinner.
While I was there, a woman dropped in a microwave to my wife which was good for the other meals during our stay. Luckily we had brought our own kettle.
The BBQ on the balcony was really dirty and I didn't even bother taking the lid off despite needing to cook there.
The kitchen is little more than a sink in a cupboard with a bar fridge underneath. It wasn't appropriate for meals we needed to cook.
The blinds at the front door were missing panels and we had to put a blanket over the top roller as the security light came on sporadically. Also for our own privacy especially when new guests arrived on our third night, the entrance to their rental place just a metre from the loungeroom of ours.
The brochure inside the place showed a magnificent view of the mountains: the reality was a view of a sliver of one of the mountains from the aging deck.
The rear fly screen door didn't lock and as such, the glass sliding door had to be shut at all times, since whenever there was any wind, the fly screen door would slide completely out of place.
Telstra worked but there was no service for Optus phones.
Overall this accommodation was disappointing. It needs to be updated and cleaned more thoroughly and in order to compete with other rental properties, should have a brand new kitchen installed.
