We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary here! It was cozy, private and beautiful! It was amazing to see the sunset every night from the deck and the stars at night, wow! We could see the Milky Way. The sound of the water and the lobster boats was very relaxing. The cottage was well equipped. We loved being able to grill several nights. We enjoyed using the hot tub daily! It was a great spot from which to explore the midcoast of Maine. We will definitely be back!
We're so glad you enjoyed your time at the cottage! It's a very special spot and it sounds like you took advantage of everything wonderful about it! Happy Anniversary...be sure to come back soon!
A wonderful piece of Maine
We arrived and thanks to google earth saw exactly what we were expecting. The cottage was cozy and clean and located on a spectacular piece of property. There was plenty of room for our dogs and the grounds were impeccably maintained. The information book was very complete and well organized. We connected with Danny, the proprietor of Luke's Seafood located a 5 minute walk across the road. He was super friendly and furnished us with lots of lobster. The cottage came complete with large lobster cooker and a big, easy to clean picnic table on the supersized deck. This coupled with spot on instructions for cooking the lobsters in the information book was icing on the cake. There are incredible views from the rocky shoreline that offer spectacular sunsets. There is also a rocky beach area that is accessible at low tide. Be careful though, the rocks are slippery whan wet!!!! There is a beautiful dock. Unfortunately the floating portion of the dock that would have made water access, fishing and canoe launching a breeze was stowed on land. Although this was disclosed in the description you don't realize how important the dock is for water access until you are trying to access it! All in all, a wonderful place and highly recommended. Thanks for being pet friendly.
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and that you became experts in the art of all things lobster! This is definitely an amazing spot to enjoy the beauty of Maine. We hope to see you again soon!
Incredibly peaceful spot
This is a perfectly beautiful location, on a quiet cove that is within a reasonable drive of Rockland, the Maine Botanical Gardens, and even Camden and Rockport. The cottage itself is almost at the end of a road, so very little vehicle traffic or noise. Lobstermen come quite close to the shore by the cottage in the mornings to check their traps and we greatly enjoyed watching them while sipping morning coffee. We had a bald eagle overhead several times, and in the evenings, the haunting calls of loons on the water. Truly an exquisitely relaxing site. The cottage itself was extremely well appointed and comfortable. All in all, an excellent rental experience. We hope to return!
We are so happy that you had such a wonderful vacation! If there's a little slice of "heaven on earth" we really think this is the place! Please be sure to come back soon...this is an amazing place for leaf peeping!
Loved the peaceful location. It was just what I needed. Wonderful privacy, but still a good base for day trips. I wish I could have stayed longer.
We are so happy that you loved this little piece of heaven! Please come back soon...it's even more magical in the fall (if that's possible)!
Wonderful stay in Cushing Maine
We made a fortunate find in the Cozy Private Cottage in Cushing. The cottage was simple, clean (inside and out --clean deck, dock and well cared for grounds), well organized and stocked with just the right supplies for our cooking needs; it is also just the right size for 4 adults. The views are outstanding—an ideal location for enjoying the unique beauty of mid-coast Maine. It's the best of both worlds --quiet and private, but near enough to Thomaston, Rockland and Camden for easy visits. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the dock to enjoy the changing light and tides --watching the lobster boats, birds, fog and sunsets. We rented kayaks for the week and explored the coast, inlets and islands daily --something new to see each day. The information binder was thorough and addressed our questions --from purchasing and cooking lobsters (really the best we've had) to visiting the nearby Olson house. The property managers, Sue and Valerie, were a pleasure to work with --welcoming and responsive. We hope to be back again.
We are so happy that you had such a wonderful time on your vacation! This is definitely one of our favorite spots to sit and relax and enjoy everything Maine! Please be sure to visit us again soon!
Words don't do it justice !
When we drove into the driveway and saw the water and blue sky, we knew we found a piece of paradise! With interest in exploring the east coast as well as having a peaceful place to unwind and relax, we could not have found a more perfect spot. The only sounds you hear are the birds, waves and lobster fishing boats 🚣 that are literally at the end of the dock. Best days were spent relaxing on the dock. We spent several days driving the coast and exploring some of the quaint and historic communities
(Rockland, Camden, Wiscasset, Freeport and of course Portland and Kennebunkport). Don't forget Booth Bay Harbor and whale 🐳 watching!!
We also love to find good places to eat and we were never disappointed. Couple of favorites were Cafe Miranda, Moody's, Boathouse, Taste of Maine and more. Cottage was very comfortable. Great front room full of view and sunshine. You truly won't be disappointed with this quiet piece of tranquility
We are so glad that you enjoyed this little slice of heaven! We think this dock is one of the best places to relax, unwind, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Maine. AND, as you mentioned, it's also a really great central location for exploring the coast and everything that Maine has to offer! We're so glad you enjoyed some of our favorite restaurants...there are lots more so please come back soon! We'd be happy to recommend some of our other favorites!
