We're located just a 3-5 minute stroll (3 on your 1st day, 5 after you've chilled out) from 5 mile long, white sand Playa Samara. After a dip in the surf, relax in the shade - or polish off your tan - by the side of our pool while watching the kids having a grand old time splashing around. When the time comes, grill your steaks or some fresh, local fish, perhaps caught by you, on the gas-fired grill, or pop around the corner to La Perla for fresh, locally caught grilled fish. And take some time to catch the view from the roof deck with a beverage of your choice any time of day or night. You'll find everything you need to prepare your meals in the fully kitted out kitchen. When you want to access the outside world, there's a 32" TV and a work station for your laptop, complete with 19" monitor and printer. And, you'll sleep in the comfort of air conditioned bedrooms. Of course, it's not just about Casa de la Playa, it's also about Samara. Go to www.samarabeach.com to find out about our slightly off the beaten path beach town and all it has to offer. Come and experience Pura Vida.

Great location near the beach, very large house, lots of room for 6 people.
The house was great. No A/C in the living room, which we knew but we could go to the pool to cool off. The master bedroom shower was huge. Didn’t really like having a large open window area in the master bath as the room was very warm. But we just kept the door closed between the bathroom and master bedroom. The kitchen included everything we needed to cook all three meals. The large dining table on the outside deck was great.
All-round amazing place!
Our third visit to Sámara and had admired this property in the past. Such a great location, 2 minute walk to the best part of the beach, far enough from downtown to be a touch more quiet but still so close and perfect close-by amenities (groceries, sodas, bakery) and a very well appointed house.
Travelled with my husband, two boys (ages 6 and 7) and my in laws. Lots of space for everyone in the house, air con in the bedrooms, tons of linens and household supplies - we wanted for nothing. Boys loved the pool, was perfect for them to play in and for the rest of us to cool off in. Brand new BBQ by the pool with a side burner which was perfect for keeping the house cool when cooking. Nice cross breezes through the house too, even on the hottest days.
Kids also loved the local flora and fauna - monkeys, coatis, lizards, geckos, crabs in the backyard, horses across the road and on the street, hummingbirds and other birds coming by to visit, etc. Etc. Etc.
Nick is a great property manager and quick in response to any inquiries or issues you may have.
Sámara is such a great place. We can’t stop coming back - really want to explore elsewhere but it’s just so perfect for us. Laid back, friendly, amazing beaches, fishing, surfing, great restaurants, non-commercial, etc. So easy to travel with kids and now a vey smooth drive from Liberia airport as roads all recently redone.
We will most definitely be back and I highly recommend this property to anyone - would say in my opinion your best choice in town...
Great house + great location = Wonderful vacation!
We liked everything about the house. Large kitchen, air conditioned bedrooms, nice pool area with BBQ grill, outdoor dining area on the main floor and especially the rooftop deck for enjoying the views of the beach, sipping drinks and star watching. We were so close to the beach that we could hear the ocean and close enough to town that we could walk.
Nick was great!! So helpful right from the start with information on travel to Samara. The directions to the house were perfect. And his tips on where to shop for groceries and best places to eat were very much appreciated!
It was so nice that he called during our stay to make sure we were doing OK and didn't need anything. We did have a problem with the coffee maker acting up and even though it was about 4:30 in the afternoon, Nick was able to buy a new coffee maker and have it to us before 5:30 that day!! Amazing!
This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we could not have asked for a better experience. We are already planning a return trip for next year.
We stayed in Casa de la Playa for a week in February 2018, and it was absolutely perfect for our family of 6 adults (60ish parents and 4 20-something "kids"). There's lots of room for everyone; the two decks plus pool area give everyone space to hang out together or alone. Everything promised in the description is accurate - you are literally a minute or two down the road from the beach, and can easily walk along the beach to restaurants or downtown Samara in 10-15 minutes. You can also walk into Samara by the road - it really is only 15 minutes. The Iguana Verde grocery store is even closer, about a 5 minute walk. We did not have a car and had no problem getting around. You can rent bikes for $10 a day which makes getting back and forth to town even easier.
The house has everything you need - well-equipped kitchen plus a barbeque by the pool which we really appreciated. The view of the beach from the rooftop deck and from the open-air master bathroom (okay, the open-air bathroom took a little getting used to :) ) is amazing. The beach itself is perfect for swimming.
Can't say how much we loved this house - far enough out of town to give you a feeling of privacy and seclusion; but close enough to access restaurants, etc. Nick was very accomodating about meeting times, very informative and available without being intrusive. I appreciated that he checked in once during the week and that there was a land line in the house with his number in case we needed to call.
You'll love this house!
Wonderful house, great location, peaceful
This house is spacious, well-appointed, airy, sunny, with a wonderful dip pool, in a fabulous location. Property manager Nick was helpful and generous, but not overbearing or intrusive.
Thanks for the review. We hope to have you as a guest again.

Great house, great location in amazing Samara!
My wife and I and our two daughters stayed here for four months. We worked with Nick ahead of our time in Samara to find just the right place, and he came through in spades. The house itself is well located, just outside the main area of Samara but within easy walking or short cycling distance. It overlooks a pasture and down to the beach/ocean, giving it the feeling of being more out of town than it actually is. The beach is an easy 3 minute walk, as are a great local grocery store and great soda (local restaurant). The house itself has a very thoughtful layout with little or no wasted space. The outdoor feature of the dining area and master ensuite are amazing, as is the outdoor rooftop patio. This is a one-of-a-kind find in Samara. And Nick is an awesome property manager -- not only did he steer us to the best fit for our family's needs in terms of accommodation, he was very responsive to any small issues and even watched our dog for us for a few days while we traveled! Both Nick and the owner of the property were easy and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back!
WOW!!! Thanks!!! We're delighted that you loved the place as much as we do. Thanks again for taking the time to write your review. We hope to have you as a guest again in the future.

A great way to start the day is having breakfast on the beach. Our favorite place is Lo Que Hay, but there are plenty of others to choose from. An exciting way to spend a day is doing a guided tour on a 4 wheeler. There are two 4 wheeler guided tour companies in Playa Samara. There is also a zip line a short distance from town. Both street bikes and mountain bikes can be rented locally. The Guanacaste coast has many great beaches that make for excellent day trips for surfing or just swimming and beachcombing. There are two turtle sanctuaries and a parrot sanctuary within an hour's drive. On most Sundays you can catch a futbol game between Samara and another local area - no charge, bring our own chair. The little Super across the street has cold beer. Or, you can get your American football fix at Bar Arriba, the local take on an American sports bar. If you're looking for a laid back, out of the way beach town with a great vibe, Playa Samara can't be beat. For more information about the local area visit www.samarabeach.com.
