Happy Fox Hideaway is one of three, 400 square foot cabins that we call Happy Fox Hollow. It has a covered porch with seating for sipping coffee or cocktails. The bedroom has a door so it can be closed off from the rest of the cabin, furnished with a queen sized bed and clothing storage. It also has stairs that lead up to a low ceiling loft with 2 twin beds that are great for kids and agile adults. ***We do not make the twin beds for parties fewer than three unless requested. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you need them made up. ******Loft not suitable for toddlers*** There is a bathroom with plenty of fresh towels and a shower/tub combo. The kitchen has full sized appliances including a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and coffee maker. It also has utensils for cooking, cookware and dishes. The living area has a tv, sofa, and a table and chairs. Parking is located directly in front of the unit. There are three fire pit areas with seating and a pavilion and picnic table. A charcoal grill is provided and shared between cabins. The property backs up to the future Headwaters State Forest and so there are plenty of trees and wildlife.

About Melissa Kilgore
We are Jason and Melissa Kilgore. We met one day back in 2001 and 92 days later, we were married. We are the best of friends and love doing things together, especially traveling and exploring this beautiful world of ours. A good cup of coffee in the morning, fresh air, the sounds of nature, playing outside and enjoying a glass of wine, at the end of the day, these things put smiles on our faces when we are home or traveling. We have traveled to Europe where we did what we call the big 3, Rome, Venice and Paris. We have also traveled to Belize twice, Costa Rica twice and Cozumel twice. We love to scuba dive and so these destinations were repeaters for us. We recently returned from a 6 week camping adventure to visit 12 national parks. We don't sit still when we travel which is probably why we don't call our adventures "vacations." We call them "expeditions." We usually carry a lot of camera gear and scuba gear with us. We love meeting people and making new friends when we travel and host. We believe life is short, there are no guarantees and you should enjoy as much of it as you can, while you can.
Melissa Kilgore purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Melissa Kilgore chose Brevard
We LOVE this area! We love to hike and mountain bike and so it was perfect for us. We used to come here every weekend and now we are lucky enough to live here. Brevard is a town that provides everything we need without being too big. We chose to live away from town to be more in nature but town is only a 15-20 minute drive!
What makes this Cabin unique
The driveway is long and takes you away from the main road which we really love because it makes us feel like we have our own little getaway. We back up to the future Headwaters State Forest so we take comfort in the fact that we will always have few neighbors and plenty of wildlife. We prefer small indoor living spaces and large outdoor spaces!

Peaceful mountain sanctuary
This is a beautiful place to go to relax and feel peaceful. The property was developed beautifully, with so many lovely touches, including even tiny things, such as charmingly painted rocks here and there in planting area edgings. It is located about equal distance between downtown Brevard and DuPont Forest, and feels quite secluded, although social opportunities can be enjoyed if desired with the tenants of the other two cabins. The owners were appropriately attentive, even offering a later checkout if I needed it.
The Cabin was great! Very clean. Out door had big grill under pavilion. Had three fire pits with cha
Enjoyed the rustic setting and nearness of waterfalls and Brevard
What a wonderful getaway!
My family and I did not really know what to expect, since this was our first time in the Brevard, NC area and living in a tiny house cabin.....but it was above and beyond what we expected! You can't find better hosts than Jason and Melissa; they will do whatever they can to make your stay the very best. And all of the little touches, including chocolate and granola bars waiting for us! I never stayed anywhere that was cleaner than this lovely home! It was spic-and-span spotless and lovingly decorated! You can tell that Jason and Melissa put lots of love and themselves into this lovely cabin. We also enjoyed a night with other available amenities....the charcoal grill, the firepit, and playing the provided games and ladderball. One of our best vacations yet for my husband, me, and our two grown children. If you're considering this adorable cabin, rest assured that you won't be disappointed! Thank you to Jason and Melissa for making the "perfect getaway!"
This was our third visit and we’re already planning our next trip. The cabin has all the comforts of home, nestled in a peaceful location in the woods. Jason and Melissa are wonderful hosts! This is definitely our “go to” place in Brevard.
Early April 2 nights stay.
Very nice, everything you need, stylish decor, personable host. Definitely recommend this place.
I loved the property! It was very clean and a wonderful location
I had an awesome experience. The owners were beyond accommodating. We had a lot of snow that fell during the trip and it was very nice of the owners to shovel the walkways and provide de-icer.
They even gave us a bundle of wood for the outside fire. We had an incredible stay and I'm looking forward to coming back.
