Casa Mirador, which means a look-out point, enjoys breath-taking views from every room in the home as well as from the covered roof-top terrace. Just a 5min walk up from the Jardin Union, the heart of the historic center, it is a great location to explore and take in the most beautiful views of Guanajuato.
(However please note: Due to Guanajuato's mountainous terrain, one must be able to walk up & down pedestrian only alleyways with stairs to arrive to the home. Not suitable for those unable to walk up/down stairs.)
Casa Mirador Description:
The living room has built-in sofas, plants and a water fountain, as well as a wood-burning fireplace. Throughout the home there are large windows with amazing views, beautiful Mexican tile, terracotta floors, and wood-beamed ceilings. The kitchen has great views and is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals (including a dishwasher).
There are three bedrooms each with beautiful views from the large windows. Two of the three bedrooms have a king-size bed and en-suite bathrooms. The third bedroom has a detached bathroom, a queen size bed and a twin bed.
The private covered rooftop terrace has about 300 degrees of breathtaking views of the gorgeous city of Guanajuato and the surrounding mountains.
This is a great house in the heart of town at an affordable price.
Please note, historic Guanajuato is an Unesco World Heritage city not originally built for the automobile. Most homes are stacked up the hillsides and accessed by narrow alleyways with stairs that wind up the mountainsides. (rewarding visitors with those breath-taking views) However due to this terrain guests must be able to walk up and down such stairs to stay at this home. Cars do not pass in front of the home. Therefore unfortunately it is not suitable for those unable to walk up/down stairs.
However with this in mind the home is just a 5 min walk to the heart of town (Jardin Union), Escuela Mexicana and many other downtown sites.
After a long day of walking around town, you can take the charming funicular railway car up to the top at the El Pipila Monument where you can then walk back down to the home.
Parking is also available at El Pipila Monument.
