Cabin by the stream
They let pets in. Enjoyed cabin except my wife got bitten by fleas.
Liked sitting out in cool mornings listening to stream
This cabin is delightful: immaculately clean. cute rustic decor, and fabulous views! The GrandD loved fishing: before breakfast, after breakfast, whenever she could. It is a quiet spot - very little road traffic. It is very relaxing.
However, with an 11 year old, I wanted her to experience more than fishing. We did a day with lunch at the Blue Ridge Dam, drove to Brasstown Bald (there are fantastic views & a scavenger hunt in the museum), and stopped at Morganton Point Recreation Area for a swim in the lake, created by the dam. Another day we saw Helton Creek Falls and the Swinging Bridge. Note: the roads to these are unmaintained gravel and pretty bad but passable in my new little car. Another day we took the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway to TN. There are plenty of things to do, if you don't mind a bit of a drive.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything but food. Beds were comfy - we both slept well.
Cell service for both Sprint & Verizon was nonexistent. The cabin does have a landline and internet. GPS was spotty and inaccurate, at times. I got my directions online and took pics of them on my cell. This worked well. We did use the TV for Jeopardy before her bedtime and it was fine.
I wish would could have stayed longer....and that she had caught a fish (she saw fish, they just weren't hungry).
I'd definitely recommend this cabin for anyone who wants some quiet and relaxation. It was Perfect.
The scene in the photo is what you see up close from your rocker , in the living room, next to the fireplace looking out through a bank of windows. Marvelous
Tranquility outside of Blue Ridge
We had a wonderful stay here. The pictures don't do this cabin justice - there's windows everywhere looking out at the creek. We could have stayed in the whole time, and our 2 10 year old girls loved playing in the creek. The sound of the water rushing is so relaxing. The cabin is lovely - tastefully decorated with real wood throughout. It's a perfect layout for a family with 2-3 kids. The girls had their own space upstairs. We have been to several properties in the area before and would definitely stay here again.
Lovely location near Appalachian Trail. Right a main road, but feels so secluded. And the creek is lovely.
Owner scheduled construction on property, which was a bit of a hassle. Might want to check that there is no plans for that during your stay. Would have been 5 stars but for the construction
I'm sorry the one day repair to the cabin next to yours was an inconvenience. I'm glad you enjoyed everything else.
