As you travel up the long and curving paved driveway and come to the crest of the hill, there sits a large and beautiful four-story home with a circle drive. This gracious house is located in Good Hart, MI and is surrounded by a manicured lawn and stately birch/maple/oak trees. The recently-built four-bedroom/5.5 bath home sleeps 14 with A/C in the bedrooms, 2 flat screen TVs, fire pit, separate bar in lower level and is within 1.5 miles of Lake Michigan's spectacular beaches.
Entering the welcoming porch and front door, the unique character of this special place strikes instantly. The large great room has a beautiful two-story stone fireplace and surrounded on three sides by French doors. Two sets of the doors lead to a wraparound porch with tables/umbrellas and chairs. An ideal place for a morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine. The other set of doors leads to a most inviting screened in porch with wicker furnishings and a swing bed for summer sleeping.
The creative furnishing of traditional, modern and antique sets the tone for the rest of the interior. There is wood flooring throughout the home. The overstuffed white sofas and yellow/white check chair invite you to relax and enjoy your stay. An antique sofa separates the room, creating a separate conversational area or watching the flat-screen TV.
Just off the great room is a large, new kitchen with stainless steel appliances, double oven, granite counter tops and island with gas stove. There is plenty of prep area for preparing a wonderful meal. Just off the kitchen is a long wooden table with seating for 10-12.
There is also a half bath and mud room near the garage entrance.
On the second level, there are three bedrooms en-suites. The first is the master en-suite with king bed, walk-in closet; and, its own separate screened-in porch overlooking the lawn and woods. The second king bedroom en-suite includes a unique feature with an antique pane window overlooking the great room and fireplace. In the hallway entering these bedrooms there is a separate desk area for keeping in touch. The third bedroom on this level is called "The Lost Boys Room" from "Neverland" where you'll never want to grow up. It has three double beds and one queen with a trunk or foot locker at the end of three. The room has the most interesting walls and vaulted ceilings leading to Inter-locking "V"s.
On the third level is the cheery "Girls Room" en-suite with a princess flair. It has three queen beds and three small make-up tables. At the head of each bed is a wonderful large arched window allowing the sun to shine through and create a bright and welcoming feeling. A similar vaulted "V" ceiling creates an even more dramatic effect.
On the lower level is a third gathering area with a large flat screen TV, bar area, second fireplace and a three season sunroom with two "swing beds" and table/chairs. This level also has a full bath and large laundry room.
The outdoor fire pit is surrounded with stone tiles, which makes for great summer/fall nights roasting marshmallow or smores.
