Great location, Perfect for small families or a couple!
We LOVE Oak Island and this house worked out great for my family.
When we arrived, the house was clean and all we had to do was unpack and get settled in.
We did take the advice of a previous visitor who mentioned renting a golf cart for a lengthy stay. We used Oak Island Golf Cart Rentals and they delivered the golf cart to us right after our arrival.
Upon receiving our cart, my husband was in the midst of setting up the battery charger and getting it plugged into the side of the house when a neighbor walked over and started harassing him about whether or not he was certified to work on electrical outlets and started threatening to call the owner of the place. He was CLEARLY intoxicated with a drink in hand. This was not our only encounter with him. He walked through the front yard of this house almost daily between his house and the one on the other side of us. He knocked on our door at 9:30 pm, intoxicated again, introducing himself, offering my husband alcohol, claiming there are drug addicts in the area and they’ll steal the cooler right off the front porch if you don’t lock your stuff up, using profanity and basically scaring my kids to death. We woke up one morning to find his business card on our windshield, which means he was in the yard again at some point when we were unaware. His name is Kenneth Williams and is a resident two houses down.
We never got the impression that this area was unsafe and we never saw anyone in the area that looked sketchy or made us uncomfortable (except HIM) but hearing this made my kids and us parents a little uneasy.
The house was perfect for the 4 of us. The location is great. It’s close to Food Lion, The Flying Pig Coffee House (which has great coffee), the gas station is at the end of the street which made it easy for us to get ice for our cooler on the way to the beach every morning and we drove our cart to all of the little shops nearby.
That end of the beach is a little more crowded, so we just drove down further each day and used some of the other public beach accesses and parking. For watching the sunset or rise, we’d drive the cart to the closest access which took less than 5 minutes and always had a place to park for a walk on the beach.
Tips for visitors: The only coffee maker provided is a Keurig, so bring k-cups or your own coffee pot. We bought a small one at Walmart for $8. Bring bug spray as the mosquitos are fierce.
We’d stay here again. 😊
Nice place clean, kids loved it boat dock within walking distance

It worked for us
Quick trip to Oak Island and need a little place to stay. House was ready when we got there. No wifi until 3rd day but that's not the end of the world. Rental company got right on it when we called. Window ac units are loud but they worked. Location is good. It's a little walk to the beach if we had been there for a week I would have rented a golf cart. House was clean and well stocked .
