Home away from home
This gorgeous one bedroom property is roomy, comfortable and extremely well appointed. It is in a quiet area but near enough to shops, cafes and transport. The manager was helpful and provided a friendly welcome. Highly recommend this unit.

Upon booking this accomodation I was looking forward to my stay. I felt that I had paid quite a lot for the one week. However this accomodation looked to be exactly what I needed. I booked it for its quiet location, wifi access, and privacy.
I received none of these things.
The apartment is on the ground floor directly below the owners. You can hear every footstep, bump, and conversation. This is annoying but not as bad as being opposite a building site, The bedroom directly faces the brand new apartments being built, so from 6am in the morning till 6pm at night its nothing but drilling, and banging. To top it off the wifi is extremely slow, to the point I contacted the agent who then released the information that the building is going through an upgrade, something I wish she could have told me before I booked as wifi was needed as a priority during my trip.
my frustrations went unheard, my contact with the agent, yes... though the owners live above they go through an agent..... which is limiting and unhelpful. The agent would only say she had never had complaints before, she wouldn't say why it wasn't mentioned in the listing that it faces a building site, nor would she say why it wasn't mentioned in the listing that wifi is not working properly due to an upgrade. When I questioned how we could rectify the situation, she failed to respond.
For someone who is staying here as just a bed this property would be suitable. However if your someone like me who booked this property to remain in the property during the day to relax, work and unwind in a quiet location it fails majorly.
I think to say you have never had complaints before and think thats an acceptable response is cop out. Every experience with each guest is individual and for what was paid I should have received what was listed. I didn't however instead of the agent being understanding she merely implied my complaints were not legitimate.
My suggestion is you update the listing on this property, explain there is building work going on and that its not as quiet as you would expect, explain there is poor wifi currently. be honest and let the guest make up their own mind if they want to stay.
To sum up you need to be more truthful on this property, you state what it is normally, but you don't state what the situation is right now... which for anyone staying here is a noisy poor sound proof apartment with extremely slow wifi.
It is very unfortunate that Gordon felt so let down. I received numerous messages starting within 24hrs of his stay most at 6am in the mornings. Upon letting him in, I did say please contact me if you need anything. The internet was slow when he contacted me about it but was fine shortly there after and was tested twice a day during his stay and was at an acceptable level. I did say he was the first to complain about the internet but wherever you stay, even in a five star hotel there will sometimes be moments when it is not running at full capacity. The wi-fi is there as a courtesy for guests. Gordon complained also that he wasn’t told that the apartment was on a building site. There is building work being done across/diagonally from the apartment complex. They are working on the inside so there was very little noise. I followed up with surrounding neighbours and they said they haven’t heard anything. Yes the elderly owners live in the apartment above and leave at 5am or earlier and don’t get home until evening. Guests prior to Gordon and after Gordon have all said that they loved their stay and can’t believe how quiet and lovely the apartment is. Current guests staying in the apartment are back for their third time as they love the apartment. The apartment has been a short term rental for the last 8 years, with many return guests, business people who come for the location and the peace and quiet. There is nothing misrepresented on the advertisement and people say it looks better in person than the photos. Every question Gordon had was answered and the brief moment the internet was running slow, I explained that it is out of everyone’s hands. Gordon wasn’t answered at 6am in the morning but before 9am. The messages from day one were very irate and the only thing he wanted was compensation, compensation for everything and anything. The place is quiet, private and the internet was down briefly and the apartment is well priced.
This property has been well thought out for a very comfortable stay. The renovations make it fresh and appealing. It had everything we needed.
It is in a lovely garden surrounding and very private. It was a great place to stay for a couple wishing to relax.
