About Abbey Sullivan
I am Irish, married to a French man, and we feel very lucky to live in this lovely part of the world. Between us we have 6 children, ranging from ages 13 to 29.
Abbey Sullivan purchased this House in 1998
Why Abbey Sullivan chose Pluvigner
Andre bought this house (and the one we live in) as a complete ruin, and spent many years lovingly renovating it.
What makes this House unique
The life style in Brittany is just perfect. There is a really strong sense of tradition, very friendly people, beautiful coast-line and country side and lovely towns. We love the peace and quiet of where we live, coupled with the buzz of the coast in the summer. And of course when the weather is nice in Brittany you wouldn't want to be any where else! It never gets too hot, or too crowded. We love it here, and love to share it with our holiday guests.

Lovely early autumn holiday
We arrived at this pretty gite to a very warm welcome from the owners who live next door. They were extremely helpful, even carrying suitcases for us! The gite was lovely - bright, clean and with all the things you need for a self-catering holiday. The kitchen was well equipped, sitting room very comfortable and upstairs very nice bedrooms. The garden was large with plenty of sun traps. Trampoline too... It is in a beautifully peaceful part of the countryside and convenient to the nice small town of Pluvigner. There are plenty of beaches not too far away and many nice villages - La Trinite-sur-Mer being one of the best for choices of restaurants. All in all this is a really lovely place to stay and I have suggested it to many of my friends.
This gite is a very nice house!
Ours kids had so much fun on the trampoline, the area is amazing!! And we were luck the weather was amazing, Brittany is a very nice place to spend a summer family holiday !
The house was very nice, and we were nicely welcomed by abbey, also had a chance to play a bit with their very sweet little dog poppy!
Well equipped property in a peaceful yet accessible location.
We really enjoyed our two weeks at "Le Beau Manoir". The property had everthing you would need and was spacious enough for the five of us.
It is in a very peaceful location yet only a 5 minute drive from Pluvigner, which is a bustling town with many facilities (e.g. good supermarket, 3/4 bakeries, bars, restaurants etc).
The coast is only an easy 30min (or so drive away) and the owners helpfully provide details of some good beaches which we found to be really nice.
There are also plenty of non-beach trips too such as Vannes (recommend using the P&R), Concarneau and Rochefort-en-Terre to make a few. Looks like there is good surfing near Quiberon with many surf schools around Plouharnel. There is enough to do in the area that I think we could easily do another two weeks without too many duplicate trips.
The only thing to consider is that the bathroom and toilet (separate) are on the ground floor opening onto the living space: not a problem for us as a family but worth remembering of you were travelling as two couples (the house has beds for 7 plus two cots).
I would recommend staying here to anyone who is coming to this part of Brittany due to the location. The owners are lovely and right next door if help is needed and there is a large file of information within the property.
Finally, the Internet speed is very good (very useful as we found phone signal hard to come by!). TV is French channels only as far as we could see...a welcome break for us so not a problem but worth noting of you are from the UK and were hoping to watch British TV of an evening (common enough at other places we have stayed around France).
thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We are delighted you enjoyed your holiday and stay in the Gite de Beaumanoir. Thanks also for the suggestion of getting British TV. I think there is even a satellite dish on the roof so it shouldn't be too hard to sort out! A good idea; thank you. Hope you have all settled back into work and school.
Kind regards to you all

A lovely house for a relaxing family holiday
Our family of four (with two young daughters) enjoyed a two week stay at this property in August 2015. From the beginning the owner Abbey had been helpful and prompt in her email responses, and the booking process was straightforward. Abbey and her family live next door in the adjoining property and were happy to answer any queries we had.
The property listing and photographs are accurate, and it is well equipped with pretty much everything we needed. The property was clean on arrival with a welcome basket. The big garden was a delight and the trampoline was hugely popular.
There is plenty of local information provided, including personal recommendations for beaches and a detailed local map. I would have liked a guest book too, to read recommendations from other guests.
Although in a very rural location, the property is a 5 minute drive from Pluvigner which has a good selection of bakeries and a good sized supermarket, as well as creperies and bars, and helpful tourist information. We found everywhere we wanted to visit was about 30 – 40 minutes drive away. We enjoyed visiting some of the bigger towns such as Auray and Vannes, and spent a lot of time on the coast at several beaches near Carnac and Trinite Sur Mer and on the Quiberon Peninsula. We’d particularly recommend exploring inland for canoeing on the Loche and the Brevet rivers, which were beautiful, and a visit to St Cado (Belz) and the Etel estuary which were peaceful.
Thanks for your kind words, as well as the hint abut the guest book. Good idea. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay so much, and were impressed at all the activities you managed to pack in , even on the rainy days! Regards to all, and good luck with back to school / work. Abbey and Andre
Lovely and comfortable gite in a beautiful setting
We had a great stay at the gite de Beaumanoir with the house being spacious, clean, comfortable and well-equipped (having the washing machine and tumble dryer was great when taking the kids to the beach every day). The big garden was a big hit, with plenty of room for the kids to run around and they loved their many sessions on the trampoline. The owners, Abbey and Andre, were very friendly and helpful and gave us great advice as to the best beaches, places to visit etc. We loved the beaches at Kervillen, La Trinite sur Mer (easy access, ice creams); St.Pierre, Locmariaquer (beautiful beach) and Kerhillio, Erdeven (waves for the body boards). St Goustan and the old town of Vannes were lovely to wander around as were the stones at Carnac.
The gite was a very comfortable base for our family holiday with lots to see and do in the area- plenty of beaches, crepes and ice cream. We would definitely recommend Gite de Beaumanoir.
Thank you Abbey and Andre.
Pluvigner is ideally situated in southern Brittany - less than half an hour from dozens of lovely sandy beaches, and yet also in the middle of Brittany's rolling countryside. You can chose between the long sandy beaches at Erdeven or Locmariaquer, the standing stones at Carnac, the sophisticated buzz of La-Trinite-sur-Mer, the old towns of Auray or Vannes, the fortified citidal at Port-Louis, the beautiful River Blavet valley, the old town and castle at Josselin.....or just sit and enjoy the pretty garden!
