Charming and updated 1940's cottage located on 1.5 acres in in Dutch Flat, a California Historical Landmark. The cottage is quiet and peaceful with a lovely rear patio overlooking the vegetable garden. A lawn off the patio provides outdoor space for dining or a lazy swing on the double-hammock.
We felt like we stepped into a Norman Rockwell paining when we found this unique property in late winter of 2015. The former owner remodeled the cottage to include a master suite with shower over tub, queen bed with down duvet. The second bedroom has a bunk bed (full on lower bunk, twin on upper). The kitchen is complete with gas stove, microwave, disposal, and fridge. Granite countertops, small dining table, and pop-up breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully stocked with small appliances and an array of cookware. A small TV is available in the living room. The gas fireplace will keep you toasty warm in the winter.
We reside in the main house with our Labradoodle, Posey. In the small town, you will find a community center, post office, a small grocery store stocked with staples and produce, beer and wine. 10 minutes west on 80 there is a full-service grocery store.
The cottage is 1.5 miles from the freeway and 35 miles to Sugar Bowl Ski Resort and Royal Gorge Cross County facility. In the summer there is a swimming pool available for your use. We do close up the pool beginning in October and re-open it in the late spring (or as weather permits).
The Meadow Vista Inn provides fabulous food every night of the week if you decide to dine out. We are 25 minutes to the town of Auburn where you can shop for antiques, enjoy the many restaurants as well as enjoy hiking and biking trails.
