About Cody Robison
We are Cody and Jess Robison; welcome to our cabin. When we first started dating we came to Gatlinburg as a little getaway and fell in love with the mountains and all the area had to offer. After several more trips to Gatlinburg and staying in cabins we decided we wanted to have our own home away from home. We live in a small town about 20 minutes North of Indianapolis. With alot of flat land and cornfields at home the mountains are such a nice change of scenery. We love to be outdoors and to hike and explore. We have a 11 year old son, 2 dogs and 8 chickens that make up our little family. Cody owns and operates a HVAC business and Jess runs her own women's clothing business. Together we have several residential rental properties in Indiana as well as 2 cabins in Gatlinburg TN. We love to spend time with family and friends. Each spring and fall we take a large group of friends down to our cabins and have a great time. During the summer we spend every possible weekend at Dale Hollow Lake boating and camping.

Why Cody Robison chose Gatlinburg
We fell madly in love with everything about this cabin. The long drive way up to the cabin is amazing. We see some sort of wild life every time. This cabin is perfectly tucked away into the trees and the Smoky Mountain National Park. It is an authentic hand hewn log cabin that was relocated and added onto. This is such a romantic cabin made for 2. There is a 2 way real wood fire place that opens to the living area and the bedroom. The private deck has a lovely area for dinning, relaxing or enjoying the hot tub in total seclusion. There is a huge picture window that can be seen from the bed. We love to wake up and look through the window and feel like you are floating in the trees. We got engaged in this cabin and it will forever be a special place for us. We hope it will be for you too.
What makes this Cabin unique
This is a real deal authentic hand hewn log cabin that was built in the early 1900's. It has since been moved to the current location and added onto to make it the perfect mix of old meets new. The seclusion and scenery of this cabin is just spectacular.

Had a marvelous time. The cabin was very quaint and cozy. Was a little dim for are liking. Besides t
We got to see a bear the first night we were there. Right in the driveway. It was awesome. The only thing I would change is the lights in the cabin. It was very dim for are liking.
If you want seclusion, but want close to downtown Gatlinburg, this is the cabin for you.
The cabin needs a new cleaning crew and it needs some repairs. We arrived Sunday evening and the place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all. Dishes in the dishwasher, spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling, bugs everywhere, dust everywhere, on top of cabinets, the return vent was disgusting. This is not good for someone with asthma. It’s also not what you expect when you are going away on vacation. I contacted the owner and he sent a cleaning crew out the next day to do a “deep cleaning” and the bug guy sprayed while we were there. I’m not a city girl, I understand we are in the woods. We came back from town and the cleaning crew had been there. It smelled better, not moldy any longer. They never emptied the dishwasher I had to run from the previous renters(I don’t understand why the cleaners didn’t run it and empty prior but ok) . There where still cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and between logs. I was looking for a dog toy and the dust and disgust under the bed was nasty! There were pistachio nuts under there! I know the first night I got bit by a spider and when we looked after the cleaning crew they never did anything about behind the bed! The last night we found out why all the spiders, roaches and centipedes where coming in all week despite the cabin being sprayed, there are cracks in the walls allowing whatever to crawl in whenever it wants too! We also had to be extremely cautious outside as we had 3 large bears and 3 baby bears. It sounds cute but they were not at all scared of humans. We were leaving one day on the Harley and the biggest bear was sitting in the middle of the driveway and just sat there. The mama and her three cubs were just playing without fear at the house at the bottom of the hill (100 feet away). I will mention too the roads in are very narrow so if you are driving a pickup and pass someone it’s a tight fit. Going up their road is like a goat trail, if you come across someone, somebody has to back up. One side is a hill and the other is a drop off. The entrance to the cabin is a sharp left turn you can’t make if you are driving a pick up and pulling a trailer. When leaving, you can’t make the right out of the driveway. It is a nice location as you are only 3 miles from Gatlinburg and 10 from Pigeon Forge. I’m hoping Cody comes down and does some work on the cabin, it needs it badly!
This one took a while to respond to. After 9 years of renting this cabin and awesome reviews we were due for a bad experiance I guess. This cabin may not be for all. So here are some tips for future guest wanting to come to the cabin. Please keep in mind Gatlinburg is located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. We have a wide arrange of wildlife including black bears and bugs. We are literally 1000 yards away from the edge of the park. And being mountains you will come across some hills while driving in the area. A goat trail is a little far fetched much like most this review as they literally just repaved the lane going to the cabin. All roads are well maintained. Once you turn on to the last road to get to cabin it does turn into a lane and a half wide. But there is only 6 houses on the road. The odds of seeing another vehicle will be rare. And also it's only 100-200 yards to get to the driveway which is also paved. We take our vacation rental very seriously. So when she mentioned an issue I immediately contacted all of our resources and had crews up the very next day to fix anything that was missed. Also some extra advise is we have a true authentic hand hewn log cabin situated in the woods. And yes we have bears in the area. They are black bears and not aggressive unless provoked. I believe you saw 6 bears during your stay. I'm sure it was the same bear with babies. We have a bear proof container for trash and also local police will come scare the away if needed. We have never even had a "close call" or anything. We are always battling bugs so that's why we have the best exterminator company in the area treating the cabin once a month and they also jave 24-7 support if needed which we used. I believe the biggest problem with this stay is it is moth season and when porch lights are left on and you go to open the door tons of bugs immediately fly in. I have since added a note to future guest for check in info to try not to keep light on. Is there cracks between logs? Possibly but not noticable and not where bugs will get in. They would be tiny if any. I'm really sorry you were not impressed with the cabin and I'm also sorry everything we tried to do didnt make you happy but I believe expectations of coming to the mountains were not fully researched. Like mentioned before we take this seriously and will do everything we can to make a guest stay 5 star. We value all feedback good or bad so we can help make everyone's experience better.
The cabin is a great location, close to town secluded enough to feel like you are by yourself. The cabin is quaint and looks just like the pictures show. Had a mama bear and 3 cubs near the cabin the whole week. I enjoyed seeing the bears for a short time, we were not able to explore like we like and my husband would not grill outside due to the bears being in close proximity. The cabin itself was nice and so was the hot tub. The jacuzzi tub was a little to be desired. The cleaning crew needs to clean a little better, dishes were still in the dishwasher (not sure how long they had been in it) from the previous people and the the grill should be cleaned for the next group of people that book. If we had grilled we would have had to clean the grill before grilling. A few more towels would have been nice to not have to wash towels/wash cloths too often. A couple of potholders would have been nice.
The property needs a little TLC, overall it was nice. The cleaning crew needs to do a better job of cleaning in the bathroom floor by the door, there is caked on dirt. It was difficult to get to the silverware due to the stove. The new hot tub was nice, something should be done with the old one if it is not going to be used any longer. I would stay with this property again but wanted to share that it needs a little TLC.
Really cool cabin and easy to reach.
