Big and Bright 2BR, 5 min from Shinjuku Station.
This apartment has two bedrooms, a living room, fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. It is 54 square meters (582 square feet). It is located on the second floor of this building.
There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with two single beds and a double-sized sofa bed. The apartment can accommodate 8 people, and all rooms have air-conditioning. The kitchen has all utensils, dishes, pans, coffee maker, etc. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available in this apartment.
The apartment is located in a quiet and safe residential area of Nakano, just a 5 minute walk from JR Nakano station.
Nakano is conveniently located, being only one stop and five minutes away from Shinjuku station, the biggest station in Japan. It is famous for its reasonably priced restaurants and shops. Once you go through the North exit of the station, you are at the entrance of the Nakano Sun Mall, a huge arcade. At the end of the arcade is Nakano Broadway, a shopping mall popular among “otaku” (enthusiasts of anime and manga), due to its number of stores related to Japanese sub-culture.
Also in the area are numerous izakayas, bars with live music, concert halls, a DIY store and a planetarium. In nearby Araiyakushi shrine garden, on some weekends you can enjoy a flea market selling a variety of antiques and knickknacks.

Excellent spacious apartment. Very clean. Very convenient location to Nakano station. Good nearby eateries. Went to the Life grocery store daily. Favourite park was Inokashira Park. Also enjoyed many other parks in Tokyo. Great break from the crowds!
Fantastic, spacious, sunny and clean apartment in a wonderful residential neighborhood
The apartment is minutes away from the Nakano station. Easy access to all train lines and nice not to be in downtown Tokyo. You walk through a wonderful mall filled with great shops and restaurants. Top-notch supermarket with everything you can imagine, including delicious take-out food (superb obentos!). The apartment is sunny, super clean with lots of space. The bathroom was great: clean and a great shower! The neighborhood is quiet and you feel like you live there. Makoto-san is very helpful and informative. I would definitely stay there again.
Nakano Apartment - A Home Away From Home
Our family of five adults were very comfortable in the Nakano apartment for the two weeks that we stayed in Japan. The apartment was located in a good location close to the train station and the Broadway shopping complex which provided for all of our needs including the choice of many restaurants. The apartment was clean and highly functional providing an excellent home base for us. It was easy to access Japans great rail system using the JR rail pass and travel to various tourist sites on day trips or overnight. Makoto-San was a great host and provided very valuable information on the sights to see as well as getting to and from the airport and other various locations. We believe that he is a great ambassador and represents the welcoming nature of the people of Japan and particularly the people at the information centres that are always willing helpers.
Perfect Location. Quiet Neighborhood
My two sons and I stayed in this apartment for a 10-night stay. It was the perfect location for us, since the subway/train station was close by. We had plenty of space for the three of us.
Nakano has a grocery store, which we shopped at daily. It's just a few blocks from the apartment, and you pass it on your way to/from the subway station. One thing to keep in mind is that Nakano is not a tourist spot. We did have a bit of trouble when it came to dining in some of the local restaurants. Two of them turned us away. Not sure if it was the language barrier or if we indeed required a reservation. We should have asked our host, Makoto, for a few more dining suggestions while in that area.
Speaking of Makoto, he was an absolute pleasure. From the moment we reserved the room, until our departure, he provided us with much information and assistance. Make sure you understand the trash sorting before your host departs. It can be confusing. I would definitely stay there again. It was our home away from home.
Small but efficient, great location!
Small apartment (though spacious for Tokyo standards). Exactly as described. Thoughtfully furnished and clean. We had no problem sleeping 8 people there. We were out in the city most of the time, so this was a great place to crash. Just a few blocks from a great subway (and Japan Rail) station.
Nakano area has everything you need: shopping arcade that goes on for blocks, grocery store, restaurants, etc. Neighbors and neighborhood were quiet. Host Makoto was great via e-mail beforehand. He greeted us at the train station and was careful to explain everything, but we were jetlagged and missed a few things. Would have been helpful to have some English labeling/stickers on the remotes for air conditioners and washing machine. Garbage sorting procedures (6 differeent bins!!!) could have been more clearly labelled as well.
Overall - recommend highly. Can't beat the price and the amenities/ location.
This was our third trip to Tokyo and the the first time that we decided to go with an apartment. I can safely say that we were not disappointed with this place at all:)
Firstly, the communication that we had with Makoto, the manager - Top rate. He was great and so very helpful, not to mention funny. He had us in stitches from the get go.
Next, the apartment itself, tucked away a few hundred meters from JR Nakano station, the unit was perfect for our group of four people. It was simple and exactly what we needed. It is precisely what it says it is in the description, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a dinning area and not much else. Perfect for those that are just going to be traveling around for most of the time anyway.
For those that are expecting a huge western-style place this isn't for you. This is Japan, every inch of space is precious.
The surrounding area of Nakano is a warren of narrow streets and alleys, filled with various restaurants, eating places, and shops. For those that can't necessarily stomach much Japanese food there is a KFC and a 24 hour Mcdonalds. There is also a supermarket no more than 5 minutes walk from the apartment too.
If you love Japanese culture and way of life, Nakano is a great place.
Just near the train station there is a shopping arcade that just seems to be on the go at every hour of the day. I wish I was able to have spent more time in the area. Apparently, for those that love/like Japanese anime, there are a few stores in and around the arcade. Also, if you travel a few stops away from Nakano you can get to the Ghibli Museum quite easily.
Nakano itself is not all that far from JR Shinjuku station, via the Chuo line, depending on which train service you catch. There is a rapid service and a local service. The rapid service is generally quite crowded, were as the local will be less so. If you are traveling with big items of luggage avoid the rapid service if possible.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied with the apartment. It was well-maintained and clean, and everything that we expected. If I were to travel with a small group again I would certainly come back to here.
5 Minutes from Nakano station. Located in a middle class residential area. Safe and quiet.
