About the property

3 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

Experience life on a working farm! Deer Lake Farms is a 1500+ acre farm located on the outskirts of the Village of Singhampton, just a short 15 minute drive to Collingwood and The Blue Mountains. This amazing farmhouse is one of six homes on the farm property. The land surrounding the farm consists of a private, spring fed, 70 acre lake, rolling pastures and crop lands as well as hardwood and softwood forests containing miles of walking trails. Deer Lake Farms is a producer of Ontario's highest quality grass and grain fed beef cattle. We also have organic grain fed chickens for our own use. Much of the farm is on the beautiful protected land of the Niagara Escarpment.

The farmhouse is located on what is known as "The Horse Farm". The stables, indoor and outdoor arenas and surrounding pasture is a private Equestrian facility. You will enjoy experiencing the amazing countryside in which we live... waking up in the morning surrounded by beautiful horses, amazing sunrises over the private lake, the smell of fresh clean air, beautifully manicured grounds, camp fires under a canopy of stars and the peace and joy of country living.

If you are looking for a place to rest, relax, spend time with family or friends, experience country life on the farm, or in need of a quiet retreat...Deer Lake Farms is the place for you! If you enjoy outdoor living, adventure and an active lifestyle...you can experience all of that here as well! We are located in a four season area of outdoor activities. You will have access to the private lake, and the use of paddle boards, paddle boats, canoe, kayak and row boat as well as expansive acres of countryside to explore. Highland Nordic Centre and Duntroon Highlands Golf Club are right around the corner...offering cross country skiing, mountain biking and golfing. Access to the Bruce trail and miles of hiking are within walking distance. If you enjoy snowmobiling, access to the trails are 2 kilometres away... membership to the OFSC is required to have use of all the Ontario snowmobile trails. Blue Mountain Resort and Georgian Bay are just minutes away, offering down hill skiing, beautiful beaches and year round activities and entertainment.

If you enjoy meals out, we are located just 2 kilometres from the locally famous Mylar and Loreta's Restaurant. This restaurant is a popular spot for the locals as well as cottagers and tourists! Looking for scrumptious home baking and fresh local produce? Look no further...only 9 kilometres away in the hidden village of Glen Huron you will find Giffin's Country Market. Giffin's is also a popular place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. There are also many choices for dinning out in the surrounding towns and villages...the choices are too numerous to mention so please be our guest and come and experience it for yourself!

We look forward to meeting you and sharing the beauty of Deer Lake Farms and the experience of farm life and country living!

Family farm house getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful place and experience for my family and I. We wanted to do something other than a cottage and this was just perfect. Tammy was such a pleasure to deal with. The farm was spotless when we arrived and it just felt like home. Tammy took us on a farm tour that the kids just loved and so did the adults. It's close to Collingwood and blue mountain if you want to get out and do something. The lake they have was so much fun for the kids to go paddle boating. Overall great time and would highly recommend :)

Owner's Response: Corrine and her family were wonderful house guests, they went above and beyond any homeowners expectations to care for the property during their stay. What a pleasure it was to have them stay at the farm. I enjoyed taking them around the farm to see the baby chicks, calves and horses/riders in training. It was great to see their family enjoying time together on the farm, such a beautiful family.

Country getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family of 8 spent a wonderful six days here. The farmhouse was easy to find, near several points of interest, yet quiet and peaceful. The kids loved looking at the horses and found out that the miniature horses, Lucas and Jackson, don't like bean sprouts, they will reluctantly eat parsley but love carrots. The farmhouse is very spacious and even with 8 people staying there, we could always find a quiet nook if needed. We love to cook and the kitchen was big enough for all the cooks and we were surprised at all the pots, pans, salad bowls large and small and implements available to us. The main fridge appeared not to be working, so we moved some of our foods to the smaller bar fridge in the lounge. Tammy responded promptly to my concern and provided us with an additional fridge, lending us her own cooler with lots of ice, to keep our food cold while the new fridge was being installed. Tammy also responded quickly to any questions we had, even when she was not at home.

The private lake was great, very clear and much larger than the online photo hinted at. We tried the paddle boats, the canoe and the kayak and climbed the lookout on "Pirate Island", the pontoon in the middle of the lake.

We found the farmhouse spacious, very clean, well appointed and tastefully decorated. My granddaughter even declared that here she had: the Best. Bath. Ever!

All in all, a wonderful stay and many happy memories. We'd love to return someday.

Thanks, Tammy!

Fantastic! 10 out of 10

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous time at Deer Lake Farms due in part to Tammy. She is very hospitable and is an absolute pleasure to work with. Tammy has a keen eye for detail and works hard to ensure her guests enjoy their stay. The farm itself including the residence is well maintained and quite lovely. The lake is pristine. We especially enjoyed swimming and jumping off the platform. We will be back. Thanks, Steve.
