This light-filled 2,300 square foot, 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths house includes spacious & open living / dining rooms opening onto fully-furnished kitchen with stainless Bosch appliances (gas stove, dishwasher, full size fridge, washer & dryer). Jazz Fest and other fantastic music celebrations take place blocks from here! Located in Mid City New Orleans, easy 7-minutes from the French Quarter and downtown, 15-20 mins. to the airport. Walk-able, friendly, tree-lined neighborhood.
We completely renovated this historic Arts & Crafts double in 2011. You will enjoy the charm of old with convenience of brand new renovation! Please see pictures for details. The Bayou St. John area is a tree-lined, historic, VIBRANT New Orleans neighborhood in which you can enjoy walks to the park(s), or dining out and shopping on Esplanade Ave. 10-minutes to the French Quarter or downtown. 5-minutes to the Lakefront for great seafood.

Amazing house! The pictures did not do it justice. Perfect location, super clean, amazing host.
Convenient parking. Comfortable clean rooms. Great living and kitchen area, and outdoor deck. The host was so nice and very communicative. The house was stocked with everything you could ever need, and there was even a bottle of wine and cookies left for us by the host. The house very comfortably slept 6. The location was great, a short uber ride to pretty much anywhere in the city. The Streetcar was walking distance. We will definitely stay here again!
We all loved this house, and this location. The house seems brand new - the feeling of an old New Orleans home, but with modern cleanliness and style! Easy walk to grocery/coffee/restaurants, which we did most mornings. The Second Line parade happened right down the street, so we felt we were in a perfect location. We also walked to the park from the house to see the sculpture garden and have coffee at Morning Call (I believe the oldest coffee shop in NO). Everything was really fantastic.
Great place. We spent a month here and loved it.
We come to NOLA every March for the month. We want to be in the Bayou St. John area and this place is ideal. MaryLiz was a wonderful host and we look forward to coming back!
Newly renovated place with nice appointments. Beware the weather!
NOLA was unusually cold during our stay. The property - with 12 foot high ceilings - was uncomfortably cold. The heating system sounded like it was running but it never got warm. We gathered around the oven for some warmth. Our first morning, the owner visited at our request. She said that with the blinds open on the sunny side and with the ceiling fans running things would warm up. Unfortunately that did not happen...it only got colder. Lowest inside temp was 48 degrees...brrrr! Because of the inside temperature, our stay was uncomfortable and disappointing.
The property is nice, just be sure to check on the weather before you decide.
Thanks for staying with us & for your review ~ wish we could have changed that crazy weather (in the teens in New Orleans?!) for your New Year's / Sugar Bowl stay! If we'd known we'd have historic low temperatures we would have left HOT COCOA instead of the bottle of champagne in the fridge! Glad that the ceiling fans in reverse helped circulate the warm air from the central heat (high ceilings are usually great!), and hoping the extra blankets we delivered made it more cozy.
A great view Of Bayou St. John
A beautiful home and a beautiful location. The owner lives upstairs on site and is very attentive. I would highly recommend it.
It was a pleasure to host you and your family! We look forward to your next visit.
Beautiful home in a great historic neighborhood
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home is clean with modern decor and in a very cute area with lots of people out & about. We walked to city park with our toddler and enjoyed jogging around the neighborhood looking at the historic homes. We were able to walk to get breakfast & lunch. Short drive for the wedding we were in town for in the quarter!
It was our pleasure to host you and your family, Erica! So happy you had a great visit. Thanks for being the perfect guests. Come back anytime!
