We had a wonderful time staying here!. Great location, amazing house.
home away from home
This is our second stay at Tippy Top and we love it. The new hot tub is a great addition to an already wonderful cabin. Glenn is always available for any questions and more than willing to help out in any situation. We plan on returning many times.
Great location an hour from Denver, beside a quaint town with plenty to do & a great mountain view!
Our family with three girls (ages 2-10) stayed at tippy top for nearly a week. While there was limited space outside the property, being on the side of the mountain top, our girls still found spaces on property to play in the snow. Being from FL this was top priority! We were just a few minutes drive from the trailhead for Saint Mary’s glacier. It was a beautiful hike, but would recommend mid afternoon for warmest conditions and to allow an unhurried hike to take breaks for the kids. We hiked as the sun was setting, so it was a little strenuous for our girls, but they made it and enjoyed sledding at various points down the mountain very much! The wood-burning fireplace and large open spaces in the living room make for great gathering space, with great views overlooking the mountains. The large open kitchen and gas stove are also very nice. The newly added Jacuzzi was awesome, and we used it several times! If you enjoy history or have children the Argo gold mine tour & gold panning was fun. The quaint downtown of Idaho Springs is nice to neander through for a half-day, with great restaurants, bakeries, and shops. We took a scenic hour drive one day to Fraser for dog sledding at “Dogsleds of Winter Park”. Our kids like more extreme sledding than we found nearby, so while in Fraser we went tubing next to the Historic Fraser Hill at Colorado Adventure Park. It was worth the money and an hour was plenty long with our young girls. Echo Ski Resort is 30-45 min away for folks who want to ski. We didn’t try that this year. The Echo State Park also has the highest roads in the US to drive up, but the high parts are closed during the winter. Looks like a worthwhile drive any time, but would be a must see in the spring-Fall months. We also visited the nearby Indian Springs, but enjoyed the Jacuzzi at the house so much we decided to skip it on this trip. The tropical natural spring fed pool area would be a great spot for swimming, and the cave Springs and massages looked like a great relaxing day activity for adults. We could have stayed longer, as there was plenty to do! Glenn was highly responsive and helpful with any questions we had. Thanks for the hospitality!

Everything we needed!
Our stay at Tippy Top was wonderful! The cabin had everything we wanted. We cooked while there and the kitchen was adequately supplied. We were there right before Christmas and there was a decorated Christmas tree & outside Christmas lights that added to the experience. We were really able to relax and enjoy family time while there. Glenn also made the stay super convenient. We hope to come back again!
