2,000 square foot log cabin in the mountains with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
Why Billy Sjostrom chose Summerhaven
We bought the cabin in 2015 as a convenient respite from Tucson’s summer heat (the temperature at the cabin is typically 20 to 30 degrees lower than the temperature in Tucson) and to occasionally frolic in the winter snow. We live at our cabin in the summer on the days it is not rented, and thus it is well maintained. In other words, this is NOT a high volume, tired rental with cheap and broken amenities.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is close to Tucson but in entirely different terrain and climate. It's as if we can drive to Canadian wilderness in one hour. We also love that it is a true log cabin with massive windows and skylights and extra touches such as solid wood doors and built in shelves.
Check-in: 4:00 PM
Check-out: 11:00 AM
The cabin is not child proofed and has many stairs
Minimum age of primary renter:21
There is no trash service available for our cabin. Thus, you must take your trash with you. Strip the sheets from the beds you use.
Wash and put away any kitchen items (dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc.) you use. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
Occasionally power and internet go out at the cabin, especially during inclement weather. You will not be entitled to any refund for such an outage.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Clean, very nice, plenty of room. Days and nights were very quiet. Little too many entrance steps for 70+ couple, but probably wouldn't be a problem for others.
Our family (ages1-75) had a wonderful 3 day stay. The cabin is spacious and well-equipped and we enjoyed the decks situated among the trees. The owner provided good directions and check-in was easy. We hope to return next summer.
Cool retreat from the heat.
This was our second visit to this cabin and we enjoyed ourselves this time even more than the previous time. It is such a beautiful retreat and we enjoyed the spacious patios and the wonderful amenities of the home. We look forward to coming back again.
Mt Lemon Vacation
This cabin was amazing! Very clean and comfortable, would highly recommend! Owners were great with communicating check in and check out and explaining everything about the cabin. Great location!
Memorial weekend stay
We very much enjoyed the cabin. The only issue we experienced was that some of the dishes and cookware were not fully clean. It might be good to have the cleaning service check to make sure all dishes are clean prior to guest arrival. Everything else was wonderful. Thank you.
Wonderful week in the woods
My students and I had a fantastic time in this ideal setting for our Mountain Magic Interim. We had room to spread out but commune together. We cooked, played games, hiked, meditated - what a perfect cabin for our retreat!
The main drag of Summerhaven is a quarter mile down from the cabin. There you will find The Cookie Cabin, The Living Rainbow Gift Shop, Mt. Lemmon General Store & Gift Shop, Sawmill Run Restaurant, and the Post Office, among other establishments.
A short drive away, you'll find Ski Valley, the southern most ski destination in the U.S., which obviously has skiing when there is snow, and also offers chair lift rides in the summer. Ski Valley has a restaurant called The Iron Door which serves breakfast and lunch.
Just up the road from Ski Valley is the Mt. Lemmon Sky Center, an observatory operated by the University of Arizona. They generally do not offer walk in tours but do have a SkyNights program for which you can buy tickets.
