Away from the hubbub but close to the action
We had a lovely two weeks in this charming little casita in the courtyard of a main building that houses two more larger suites and an expansive rooftop. The charming courtyard became a part of our living space extending this area to the outdoors. The little house was very comfortable and well appointed with drinkable water, a comfortable double bed, a good kitchen area and nice shower. The 20-minute walk to the downtown area was very pleasurable. There is a good local market very close by and a great little restaurant that we only discovered on our last day on the way to town (look out for the motorcycle police who stop at an intersection into town to eat and go beyond to lovely garden where they serve the best huevos rancheros). The husband and wife caretakers are charming and keep the place spotless. There's also laundry facilities. Thank you to Mimi, Judith and Alejandro for making our stay in Oaxaca easy and comfortable.
Comfortable, cozy, quiet casita
We enjoyed our month-long stay in this tastefully decorated casita. Although small, it had all the amenities we needed and the cool, peaceful courtyard was an added bonus. Mimi, Judi, and Alejandro are extremely helpful and kind. We would recommend this rental to anyone seeking a quiet, comfortable place to stay less than a half hour walk to el centro of Oaxaca.
Quiet and sophisticated
Judith and Alejandro welcomed us and provided information about the lower apartment (abajo) and surrounding area of Xochimilco, a quiet next neighborhood to Oaxaca. Small in square footage but carefully designed to provide comfort for two, clean and well appointed we found it just right for our week long stay. We watched morning begin on the roof terrace each day.
Perfect little place for one or two, easy walk to town, quiet neighborhood, Alejandro and Judith are an amazing help and resource.
This was a perfect casita. Super clean and well decorated with everything you might need. The bed was really comfy and the A.C. worked great. The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance of the center. There is a patio right outside the casita and a roof patio with an incredible view. Overall, a super experience.
Small but tasteful and well furnished Oaxaca apartment
The apartment is two rooms ( bedroom with adjoining bath and a kitchen/sitting room) with glass doors opening onto a large but not entirely private patio. (There is also a delightful terrace on the roof of the building)> The main issue in terms of space is that there are no windows in the bedroom or bathroom so it can feel a bit claustrophobic. On the other hand it is charming: white walls and bright colors, folk art and comfortable furniture all meticulously cleaned by the wonderful couple who do maintenance and airport pickup if needed. The quiet neighborhood is north of the central district necessitating a good walk (exercise) to el centro with its restaurants and activities. Probably the most negative part was knowing that the two very spacious apartments above us were already occupied!
The apartment has an air conditioner as well as ceiling fans in the bedroom and kitchen/livingroom. The sliding glass doors have shades and screens. There is no problem with air circulation.
