New home, beautiful decor, great location!
Sherry did a great job of putting all the right things in place.
We loved that there were many things left by the last renter. We also left many necessities and the next visitor will benefit. Very well done!
New, clean, close to beach
The property was great. New, clean and plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 4 kids. The pool was clutch in keeping the kids happy and entertained, and only a very short drive to beautiful Sombrero beach (with free parking!). We really liked eating out at the Sunset Grill, and Marathon Bagel for bringing breakfast back to the house. Sherry was helpful and accommodating.
A couple items to note: The roll out bed is very uncomfortable, fortunately we didn't need it b/c we brought a crib for our littlest guest. As of the first week of February, half of the beach was still closed from Irma. Hurricane damage is obvious in spots around the island also, seems like it will take some time to fully recover. Also, there is an empty lot next to this unit, and the house across the canal is under renovation... so be sure to ask what will be happening in terms of construction during your stay.
The house was gorgeous! I would definitely recommend this property!
We rented a boat and were able to dock it behind the house which was nice. The fish cleaning station also came in handy! I'd recommend this property to anyone who wants to have a family vacation, it's a 5-10 minute drive from the beach. Sherry is a great property manager! She made us feel at home and special!
Very good brand new property very clean.
They leave the clean towels, soap, everything we need. I never stay on a rental property that was so good. I would stay there again. Thanks
This place was amazing and so relaxing!! We loved the fact everthing was so close!!
We truely had some very special memories made during our stay in this home! The home and the property are beautiful and very spacious. We especially liked the fact it was so quiet. We enjoyed our quite nights by the pool watching the boots go by! There is so much to do just within a 7 mile radius, from the beaches, fantastic food, Sea Turtle Hospital and oh yeah, lets not forget the fishing!!!! Sherry who is in charge of the property is such a wonderful person and you will have everthing you need during your stay. You will not find anybody better to work with!!They go above and beyond for you and your family. We loved tbis place and intend to make more memories in this home throughout the years! Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family and letting it become ours for one week!!!! We will be back!
Things to do in Marathon We have such a wide variety of restaurants~ Sunset Grill~ Burdines~ Castaways ~ Sparky's Landing~ The Key Colony Inn~ The Marathon Ale House~ The Island Fish Company~ The Lighthouse~ Tarpon Creek~ The Stuffed Pig~ Marathon Steak and Lobster House~ just to name a few. We have a Winn Dixie, and Publix grocery, and K-Mart, along with a 24 hr Walgreens We have the Turtle Hospital, where you can tour and hear the stories of turtles that have been rescued here in The Keys, and rehabilitated and returned to the wild, and they also have beautiful turtles of various sizes in residence, some are on the mend to be returned to the ocean, and some are permanent residents that cannot go back.. This is the story of one of our most famous turtles rescued here.....OD...we could not keep him, he was too large for our facility ....Las VEGAS (Oct. 7, 2013) – Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay welcomes OD the sea turtle, its newest family member, following a cross-country journey to Las Vegas that grabbed heartstrings and headlines nationwide. After a standard quarantine period, the estimated 50-year-old, 320-pound rescued sea turtle was officially put on display in the 1.3-million gallon Shipwreck Exhibit at Shark Reef Aquarium. OD was first found in 1999 near Atlantic Beach, North Carolina with a lung infection. After recovering, he was tagged and released back into the ocean. The tagged turtle was found floating near French Reef in the Florida Keys where he was treated at the Florida Keys-based Turtle Hospital. Due to a collapsed lung, OD was unable to be released and needed a permanent home. For bike, kayak and paddleboard rentals there is Wheels To Go= 305-289-4279 For boat rentals the is Captain Pips= 305-743-4403 Captain Hooks= 305-743-2444 Key Colony Beach Boats= 305-240-0548 These are just a few that our previous guests have had good luck with. I you rent a boat from a different company and are please with their product and services we would like to know so that we can recommend. Walking out on the old 7 Mile walk bridge is a must do while in Marathon.....it spans 2.2 miles out to Pigeon Key, where the men lived that built the original train bridge. If you walk about half way out on the bridge the water gets very shallow....you will see stingrays, turtles, tarpon, and sharks, you never know what you may see swimming under the bridge. It is also the absolute best place to see one of our spectacular sunsets. Sorry, this part of the old 7 mile bridge is scheduled to close this summer for renovations, and may be closed during your visit. We also have the Dolphin Research center nearby in Grassy Key, as well as our new interactive aquarium right here in Marathon...built by the Animal Planet show "Tanked". Marathon is home to one of the nicest beaches in The Florida Keys~ Sombrero Beach. Kayaking through Sisters Creek, at Sombrero Beach, you will see manatee, and dolphin, along with every bird that lives in the Florida Keys. Snorkeling, Kayaking and fishing......If you are looking for something fun to do....there are many choices.....and if you are just looking to feel your toes in the sand and the sun on your face.....of course we always offer that.
