Spacious, detached villa in a peaceful location yet 3 minutes walk into Plan de La Tour village. Beautifully decorated interior with 4 double bedrooms (each with double bed) and a double sofa bed on mezzanine. Two en suite bathrooms each with bath/sinks/ shower/WC, bathroom with shower/wc/ sink shared by 2 bedrooms and a large WC/cloakroom off main salon. Spacious, airy living and dining area with white linen sofas, additional seating and a TV (free to view satellite, BBC etc), DVD,and iPod dock. Large well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

Outside there is a beautiful, well tended garden, pool with steps into it and an authentic gravel boules pitch. There is a large well equipped summer kitchen with dining table and seating for 8, built in gas BBQ, sun awning, fridge, sink area and dishwasher. Several additional shaded terraces and eating areas. 8 Sun loungers. Table tennis table. Electric gates, 3 car garage and parking.

There is a large, fully equipped summer kitchen overlooking the pool and the garden. This has a barbecue, gas rings, fridge and dishwasher as well as an extendable dining table and seating for 10. There is a full size boules pitch and table tennis table in garden plus 4 tennis racquets in house (for use at the local club). Additional shady terrace with high quality exterior sofas and coffee table. Gardener once a week. Cleaner on request during your stay subject to availability (additional cost). Free broadband internet access is available from August 2011.

The perfect holiday

Thank you Rachel and John for a lovely stay in your beautiful villa, La Mandarine.

We had a fantastic week and the villa was very comfortable and well furnished. The beautiful pool, garden, well equiped outside (and inside!) kitchen, spacious lounge and bedrooms and the a great location, with just a few minutes walk into the town of Plan de la Tour. It was lovely to be able to walk to the restaurants and shops and visit the town on market day. With St Maxime, Port Grimaud and St Tropez within easy reach by car it was a lovely location to explore this region of France.

We felt very safe and secure inside the property and having two young children the gated entrance was useful. Having TV/Wifi was also good for when we wanted a bit of respite from the sun. The pool was great and with it being near the house it was ideal for us as a young family. The villa was very clean and tidy and well stocked, the welcome book was detailed and useful, and the provision of local leaflets, books and DVDs was good too.

I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to friends and family, and appreciate the excellent customer service that you both offered, with clear directions and instructions on accessing the property, and what to do in the event of a problem. Villa La Mandarine is definitely a place that we would love to return to, if we had another oportunity to do so. Thank you again.

Perfect peaceful haven in superb location!!

Looking for a quiet corner of the Cote D'Azur with a secluded, pretty garden and pool, the friendly ambience of the Village a short walk away or the fun and buzz of beach life within easy reach by car, this property has it all. We have stayed here a couple of times with and without children at different times of the year and each time we have enjoyed the house and its location.

The house is comfortable, spacious and well looked after. The family are delightful and everything we needed was catered for.

So whether its a getaway from it all, trip for couples or fun in the sun with the family, I would highly recommend this pretty house at any time of the year!!

For the last two years, our instant choice!

Where to begin - we love this place. If we had the money we'd buy it. My family have been lucky to have spent the last two summer holidays here. First of all, the setting - simply wonderful. Then the property - spacious, well appointed - no French chintz to be had here! - rooms for everyone. Very well kept and looked after (we had no issues to mention). Given our hectic lifestyle, the most relaxed my family of four has been in years. Simply cannot be faulted.

10 minutes from a monster Carefour, 15 minutes from Ste. Maxime and all the bars & famly friendly restaurants, quick ferry to St. Tropez. Close enough to everything but quiet enough to enjoy a slower pace of life. Plan-de-la-tour has a great market and pretty much everything you would need.

The owners have been a total pleasure to deal with. We've rented all over Europe and if only everyone was like this. Would get a 100% feedback rating if this were eBay.

My kids still think of this as our "holiday house". This year we are trying Sardinia and if I can find a place half as good as this, I will be happy.

Great location, generally nice villa, but had some maintenance issues

We spent a week at Villa Mandarine in July 2013. For the most part, the villa was perfect four our family of seven; however, there were several maintenance issues (I think there is some deferred maintenance with regard to the villa itself), like 3 broken toilet seats, burned out lightbulbs and only 2 burners on the inside stove worked. We loved the pool and the Internet worked well. We were a little unhappy when the owner contacted me (calling me from the UK on my US-based phone) 3 times while we were enjoying a beach day to ask if we could make ourselves available for him to show the home to a prospective buyer. This did not set well with my husband at all; we had no idea that the villa was on the market and felt that we were greatly inconvenienced by this request. The owner seems very nice, but in my opinion, he should have waited to show the property after our 7-day rental was completed.

Owner's Response: First of all we are sorry that the client had a few issues with their rental. We feel it is important to clarify however that we do not defer maintenance on La Mandarine. It is a home we are proud of and look after it very well. During the rental period however breakages can occur or lights can blow and once brought to our attention we always address them without delay (as was the case in this instance as well). The housekeeper had not reported any cracked toilet seats prior to this rental. With regard to the viewing, apologies for the request but we only allowed the agent access as a one off as the client inferred that it was no inconvenience whatsoever. We are sorry if this was not how you really felt. The house is available to rent for the summer of 2015 and will not be sold until after that as we are holidaying there ourselves in July.

La Mandarine

Just returned after a two week stay in La Mandarine, and we had a great time. The villa was perfect for us. We where two families, both with two kids each and we had lots of space. The description on this webpage was very accurate. Great locatio where we could walk to the village each morning to get some fresh bread for breakfast. We tough the summer kitchen was great and had most meals outdoor, sitting in the shade and watching the kids play in the pool.

We would defiantly recommend this villa.

A beautiful villa, very private and peaceful but in a great location on the outskirts of Plan de la Tour - one of the true 'old French' villages in the area. The village has plenty of restaurants and shops, just a short walk from the villa. A 5 minute drive gets you to the outskirts of the more cosmopolitan St Maxime (the first roundabout that you reach has a proper supermarket on one side and Aqualand on the other) and a gorgeous boat trip from the centre of St Maxime takes you to St Tropez if you really want to savour the glamour and glitz.

Also within easy reach is Port Grimaud - a mini Venice - which is worth a visit. Further afield Cannes (50 mins)and Nice (70 mins) are very glitzy and worth a visit but very expensive.

The countryside surrounding Plan de la Tour is stunning but for us it's the beaches and the boats on the nearby coastline- fantastic!

The villa was immaculate and spacious and you could tell that the owners really wanted you to feel at home.

It genuinely could sleep 10.

As you can tell I would definitely recommend this villa

Plan de la Tour is a beautiful, unspoiled, Provencal village just 1 hour from Nice and Toulon airports, 10 minutes from St Maxime beaches and the beautiful coast and 20 minutes from St Tropez by the ferry. Surrounded by peaceful vines, the village has many excellent restaurants, several boulangeries, a cafe as well as a pharmacy, paper shop and tourist office etc. In addition to a bustling weekly market Plan de la Tour offers a great range of 'animations' during the summer months. There is a municipal tennis club and many beautiful walks and cycling trails. It is close to the tranquil hill villages of Grimaud and La Garde Freinet while being within easy reach of St Tropez with its fabulous beach clubs and shopping. There is a large supermarket and the renowned Aqualand just 5 minutes away. It offers a beautiful and peaceful base for exploring Provence as well as a tranquil spot from which to enjoy the Cote D'Azur and all its varied attractions.
