Not well maintained. It was gloomy and in poor condition.

  • 1 of 5

Except for the washer and dryer everything was in poor condition. Sofa seats were all sprung so we were unable to sit on the couches. Outdoor cushions and chairs were old and broken with beehives in the storage space for the cushions. One of us was stung. BBQ grill was near empty of propane and the other was not working. A nice deck but it needed to be cleaned and had a poor view. No chairs were available for outdoor use and they were not clean and broken. Inside the house windows were filthy, floors not clean and cobwebs were everywhere. Spiders were in the bathroom. Curtains were water stained. Paddle fan did not work and lights were missing from chandelier due to electrical problems. We chose the place because of its pool access. When we arrived the pool was under repair. We believe we should have been notified of this issue as this did not happen overnight! There was a lack of cleaning supplies for our use. Some of our beds did not appear to be fresh and linens were old and worn. Over head light fixtures were full of bugs. AC was not functioning when we arrived. The cabin was not ready for us. The owner did come to fix the AC for us. Magazines were from 1980's. Screens were busted and doors were extremely difficult to open. A great disappointment for our vacation!!

Wish it were mine.

This was a perfect place for a "family" get together. We came from different places,(Cleveland, WV and NC) arrived and departed at different times. Had ages from 2 to 62 and everyone had a great time. Plenty of room for everyone. The teenagers wished the pool would have been open but they survived. They actually laid their phones down and joined in the games. Wonderful time at a wonderful place. Wish the property was mine.

A great place to get away

Great place, a nice rural location. What a cool space to share with friends. Windy roads so be prepared.

Perfect for my get-away-from-it-all family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Sure it has some dated furniture, but if I wanted the antiseptic, cold experience of a hotel, I would have stayed in a hotel. As it is, my group had 8 people, and everyone had a bed and memories to last a lifetime. The home is situated in the deep woods with incredible access to trails, lakes , creeks and beautiful winding roads. I even enjoyed the 25 minute drive off the mountain, but I'm a car nut that can't get enough twists and turns. It was tranquil and rustic, with just enough modern conveniences for the few softies on our group to feel right at home. I will be staying here again, for many reasons.

This property has so much potential, but needs a very thorough cleaning and cookware replaced.

  • 2 of 5

Our family enjoyed being together in this home, however, the roof leaked causing mold, mildew and black webs on the ceiling tiles in the bottom floor. (Our grandchildren have allergies so this was a concern.) This was directly over the beds and when it rained one night, the beds had to be moved and a pan put on the floor to catch where the water dripped. Teflon cookware was scratched and could not be used. Fortunately, there were a few stainless steel pots that could be used. Cabinets and air vents needed a thorough cleaning. I took pictures and sent them to the owner.

She was prompt in returning the cleaning deposit.
