Walk 800 feet to the Snowflake Chairlift, where two trails start and go alongside Sawmill Creek. From there it is a 3/4 mile hike to 4 O'Clock Reservoir. Or for the more adventurous, you can walk 600 feet to the 4 O'Clock Trail, and continue on, 3.5 miles, to the top of 12,998 foot Peak 8. Relax in the Upper Village outdoor heated pool and hot tub complex, just 250 away from this townhouse. You can also mountain bike up the Four O'Clock Trail in the summer or ride a "comfort" bike on the 9 mile paved path alongside the Blue River.
Walk 2 blocks to downtown Breckenridge's many restaurants and shops. Enjoy the 4th of July parade, river rafting on the mellow Blue River and the National Repertory Orchestra concerts. You can also enjoy Breckenridge's Fun Park on Peak 8, featuring an alpine slide, two person roller coaster, miniature golf, climbing wall, fun maze and pony rides for kids.
Walk 800 feet to the Snowflake Chairlift. You can make your way to the highest chairlift in North America, the Imperial Chair, and ski down 3 1/2 miles back the 4 O'Clock Ski Run to be within 500 feet of this townhouse, for lunch, or at the end of the day. The terrain at the top of Peak 8 is all single and double black diamond. For intermediate skiers, the 4 O'Clock Ski Run, below the Vista Haus, is mostly a green, beginner run, with about 300 yards, considered blue, intermediate. Enjoy Breckenridge's annual Snow Sculpture contest the last week of January. Next to the Snow Sculptures is the Ice Castle, which stays open til late March.
