About Jennifer VanBerschot
I am an Illinois native who moved to New Mexico after graduating from college. My husband and I have fallen in love with the west. We enjoy being in the outdoors, and our cabin is a testament to our love of traveling to National Parks. When guests are staying at our cabin, you will find us hanging with friends and family at our home in Denver, or going on adventures of our own.
Jennifer VanBerschot purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Jennifer VanBerschot chose Grand Lake
For us, Grand Lake represents everything we love about Colorado. It is quiet, majestic, full of life, and we can hang outside year-round. This cabin is big enough to host our families, yet cozy enough that nobody gets lost. We appreciate the humble original cabin (you can see photos in the cabin) and the expansive addition. The kitchen is a place where we can make gourmet meals, and each room has a place to let our inner artist shine.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our cabin has it all. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen, where we cook delicious meals. Our kitchen has all the pots, pans, utensils, and spices you could ever need. We watch very little television, so while we have a nice television at the cabin, we spend more time playing games and putting together puzzles. The house is stocked with games for people of all ages. We also like to let our inner artist shine, so we have paper, colored pencils, yarn, and hooks to share with our guests.

Truly the best vacation ever!!!
Talk about an amazing time. From our first contact, Jennifer was increadible she answered all of our questions quickly and was a pleasure to do business with. Six of us stayed here and we will be going back. From entering into the cabin from a deck that views mountain tops we had the perfect place for indoor and outdoor relaxing and spending quality time in. Kitchen. Perfect. Living room. Perfect. Bedrooms. Perfect and comfortable. Bathrooms. Perfect. All the nice touches inside let us know we were vacationing in the Rockies. The walks in the neighborhood and drives into town made it feel like living the life of the elite. Sitting on the deck during the day and around the fire at night was exactly the finishing touch to what mountain living must be like. Everyone made fun of my husband, but enjoyed, his extensive talking and looking at the stars and milky way. He said it’s like you were sitting in the middle of the vastness of space (maybe that’s an exaggeration). But summing up our time can not be expressed in words. If your looking for your best vacation this is one for family, friends, stars and mountain tops. Truly the best vacation ever!!!
Cozy family friendly cabin minutes from RMNP.
This is the perfect cabin for a family trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park. The town of Grand Lake and the park entrance are only minutes away. The cabin is clean and comfortable. We felt right at home. Cooking out and relaxing by the fire with amazing views of the mountains gave our family countless memories. After visiting Estes Park it’s clear that staying on the western side of RMNP was the best choice. Despite being a prime season for visitors, the town and surroundings were not busy like Estes. I suggest visiting Hot Sulfur Springs and Winter Park. The Georgetown Loop was close and a pretty cool experience riding a steam engine to old silver mines. With so much to do and see try to make time for a short drive across Lake Granby to Monarch Lake. It was a hidden gem with only a few other visitors.
Thank you so much for offering your cabin to my family. It made our vacation perfect.
Cozy cabin with great amenities!
Our family loved our stay! We came from England, Hawaii, Seattle and Denver to enjoy the mountains. The open common area, with the beautiful stone fireplace, was perfect for hanging out together. Our 89 year-young uncle ensconced himself in the red lounge chair for reading and chatting. We enjoyed sharing cooking duties in the well stocked kitchen with a spacious refrigerator. The dining nook easily fit all seven of us for meals, and a hilarious game of Apples to Apples (great game selection). The four bedrooms and two bathrooms gave all of us plenty of privacy. The beds were comfortable and cozy. The porch got a lot of use. Our night around the fire pit, teaching our Aussie brother-in-law how to make s’mores, was a highlight. We saw lots of wildlife, including a morning moose strolling by the cabin and golden mantle squirrels in the wood pile. A spectacular drive on Trail Ridge Road, and gorgeous hike on the East Inlet Trail, included close sights of elk, moose and mule deer. It was truly a special time. Thank you so much for sharing your well-loved cabin.
My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful home! Jennifer was an absolute angel and so understanding and accommodating I could not possibly say enough nice things about her! One suggestions we have is the bed in the room with the antler lights is squeaky so if you are a light sleeper, try to sleep in it alone! My boyfriend and I wedged a folded piece of paper in the bed frame and the squeaking stopped (: beautiful home, beautiful location, and wonderful owners! My family and I would 0 stay here again, and plan on it next time we are in town!
The house was close to the park entrance. The beds and linens were excellent. Loved the front porch most of all. Beautiful sunset from the hill beside the house. Only disappointment was we thought the house was closer to the lake from the owner's photo. Overall wonderful rental.
Cute, cozy cabin close to downtown Grand Lake
This is a cute, cozy cabin just minutes from downtown Grand Lake. My family of 6 plus my mom stayed 2 nights. There was plenty of rooms and bed space for all of us. My big kids loved the double bed bunks with reading lights for each bunk. The cabin is well stocked with books, movies, and games for a variety of ages, as well as kitchen items, etc. There is a great space outdoors to enjoy a fire, but sadly we didn't get to do that because of the rain. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
A brief 5-minute drive or 20-minute bike ride will get you to downtown Grand Lake where you can find a public beach and park, as well as a myriad of coffee shops, stores, and casual and fine-dining restaurants. Arapahoe National Recreational Area is all around us – boat, ski, or fish in Grand Lake, Lake Granby, or Shadow Mountain Lake. The west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is 10 minutes away in car. Skiing resorts are also nearby – Ski Granby Ranch is 25 minutes away, and Winter Park Resort is 40 minutes away. Hot Sulphur Springs is 25 minutes away and a good visit all year long!
