About Maria Lippi Schwartz
My name is Maria. This is my childhood home. I was raised here. The story of my life is told in the walls of this beautiful house - every birthday, holiday, party, luau, and more occasions too mention. I went to St. Ann's Catholic Church on Haiku Road. I attended and graduated Punahou School in 1988. The history of this Glass House of Haiku is rich and colorful. After I went to the mainland to attend college at the University of San Diego, I met and married a wonderful man - a "surfer" who truly appreciate Hawaii and the beautiful culture of the people and island life. We have five children, all with Hawaiian middle names! They have learned to swim in this pool and have returned here every summer of their lives to "Live Aloha." Our oldest son loved Hawaii so much that he chose to attend the University of Hawaii, Manoa on an athletic golf scholarship. The story continues... Thank you for bringing a new story of family to our island home.

Beautiful Secluded Property
A beautiful large home nestled in the mountains with all amenities and fabulous antiquities throughout. We enjoyed the tranquil setting at the end of the day after each exciting experience of Oahu life. Although on the windward cooler side of the island, the hot tub was a relaxing and enjoyable to enjoy most of our evenings until the end when it the heater gave up. The property owner was quick to respond to our concern and although it couldn't be fixed quickly it didn't damper our wonderful stay.
Absolutely one of the best, and beautiful places I've stayed in by far! My family and had everything we needed and then some, with a beautiful view at all times no matter what part of the house you're in. Definitely will be coming back!
This house is for people that want to know what it is like to live in Hawaii. Beautiful guard gated community. The house has amazing views and completely private, you will have no view of neighbors. Total privacy. Wake up in the morning and open up the windows and the wind fills the house perfectly and you feel like you are 100% in a Hawaiian paradise. . . wind breeze, birds chirping, amazing, amazing views of the jungle, ocean, other islands, mountains and even the clouds moving in the sky. There are so many places in the house to just sit and enjoy being in the moment. The pool is pristine. The house is a little older as is the furniture, but still very nice and the location makes it all worth it 100%. The location of the Haiku house is great. You are basically 20 to 30 minutes or less to anywhere on the island. Easy access to H1 freeway to take you to Waikiki or Honolulu or easy access to H3 to take you to the North shore or West side. All the driving is through gorgeous jungles and mountains and tunnels. Driving is enjoyable and peaceful. Waikiki and Honolulu have traffic but if you time it right then it is not a problem at all. There is a shopping mall (Windward Mall) about 2 min drive from the house and a grocery store/Starbucks/drug store etc. about 3 minutes drive from the house. Loved staying here with the family for the month and living aloha. We hated to say good-bye.
True blessing to anyone who stays....
This place was nothing shy of Magical for my ohana. Breathtaking views, super safe neighborhood and the location could not be more perfect. Maria was fantastic with communication and a wonderful host. The pool/hot tub left our children soaking wet and happy day after day. We look forward to returning to this little peace of heaven year after year....Could not be any happier with our decision to stay here. Thank you!
The Glass House of Haiku (The Hidden Treasure of Hawaii)
Each year our family plans a vacation together across America and to other countries. We have stayed in many beautiful places in and out of the country. This one was by far the most relaxing, picturesque, beautiful, and offered all the conveniences and comforts of home. This was my 9th visit to Hawaii. We went to all the beaches and spots we have loved in the past but returning to this wonderful home before our evening meal and enjoying the view while relaxing at the pool was the best part of each day. It was very difficult to leave but our hope is to return again. Much Maholo
Outdoors all the time
This beautiful peaceful location hit most of the want list. The gated community provided the privacy and quiet that you want at night. The House is located close enough to the main highways whether you want to go Honolulu the beautiful beaches of Kailua or to the North Shore. Easy shopping daily at the Safeway and other local markets to stay well in stock. Enjoy the outdoors as we sat outside everyday for breakfast and every evening dinner with the propane BBQ provide. Pool and hot tub kept in great condition with local pool attendants taking care of the details. The interior of house is dated but kitchen is upgraded and well stocked with the essential plates and cook ware. Washing machine and all the towels you need. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The owner Maria is attentive to all needs and always responded with help or contact information. There was 9 adults that stayed for our 2 weeks and everyone loved what the location has to offer.
