Guestbook comments from the manager

Loved staying in this house. Walking distance to everything, nicely furnished and felt like being at home at the beach. We were surprised that so many restaurants were open off season. Yard could use a little spruce up, but I am sure that it is coming in the spring. Would definitely stay again! Thanks Andy

Great Medium size house!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at this house! We were there with 3 little kids and grandparents and there was enough separate spaces to enjoy each other in moderation. The back deck was a very nice place to hang out and eat. The location was nice - close to shops, but still quiet. The owner was very attentive. He came multiple times to help us with the cable. The only thing that wasn't ideal was that the bedrooms upstairs were pretty damp and those of us with allergies suffered a little. But it's the beach, so it's not surprising. Overall, a nice to place to stay to enjoy all that Rehoboth offers!

Spacious beach cottage close to everything

  • 4 of 5

Spacious beach cottage close to everything. Enough room for the kids to run around and the adults to keep their sanity. Bedrooms were on the small side but the living space made up for it. All you really need is enough room for a bed anyways right? Loved the outdoor space and screened in porch. Less than four blocks to the beach with dogfishhead and other great restaraunts right around the corner.

cute place, great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at 56 Kent over 4th of July, 2017. A very busy time of year for Rehoboth!

This house was a lovely home base, and the folks at Downtown Beach Rentals were nice, professional and prompt in communication.

The upstairs has 3 bedrooms: queen, full (NOT a queen, as advertised) and 2 twins. Plus a bathroom. There is a SPIRAL STAIRCASE down to the first floor... which is fine for the spry, but if you have folks with mobility issues, as we did, they will likely stick to the first floor.

The first floor has a bedroom with a full bed and another that is meant to have 2 twins... I can't believe these were full-size twins, and the bed frames are only marginal at best. Also the room they are in was not really grownup size. We opted to move these 2 small mattresses to the porch area near the front door and make a little room there (the pullout couch there was not really comfortable). This area thankfully had curtains to separate off the room from the door, and there was a large fan that really moved the air. All in all it was a decent workaround... though nobody was willing to have the room for the week (we traded off). There is also a small bathroom on the first floor which services those 2 bedrooms well.

The location of the house is great. Easy access to all the goings on of Rehoboth Ave, while not being too close to the hubub right near the beach. We rented bikes for the week at Seagreen Bicycles and had a wonderful time getting around without worrying about Rehoboth traffic. (Note: GREAT bike path in the state park... by Gordon Pond and so forth... a 16 mile loop that goes to Lewes.)

Loved the OUTDOOR SHOWER at this house. (Also, having a washer & dryer & clotheslines was very handy.)

The kitchen worked quite well cooking for 10 (though the pots & pans & cooking implements are a typical rental house jumble), and both the living room and the outdoor deck (with grill) were great hangout places for a group. Others enjoyed the screened-in porch by the driveway.

We were happy to find the little produce shop on the way to Dewey for local corn and tomatoes. (And cider donuts!)

The house is not fancy, but it works quite well. It suited our group, who ranged in age from 12 to 86.

Those are my rambling thoughts on the place!
