Casa Del Alba Bonita -3BR Oceanview- Affordable Luxury Cabo

Space 1,800 sq. ft.

Minimum Stay 3 - 4 nights

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

This modern, California-style, hillside villa is located in the residential Punta Arena private gated community, conveniently situated on the Cabo San Lucas 'Tourist Corridor' within a mile and a half of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The home is decorated in a contemporary, comfortable style that makes it easy to settle in, relax, and enjoy your stay. No other property in Punta Arena compares in the quality of interior decor and comfort, and the view is one of the best in the neighborhood!

The features include an unobstructed ocean view from the full length outdoor sundeck of Cabo San Lucas Bay where it meets the Pacific Ocean at Land's End; a spacious fully furnished living room and dining area; a full kitchen with dishwasher and laundry; 1 master bedroom with king bed and private bathroom, 2nd bedroom with king bed and 1 additional bedroom with dual twin beds (the twin beds can be combined into a king bed depending upon your party’s sleeping needs) that both adjoin another spacious bathroom; central air conditioning, Flat Screen TV and DVD/CD/MP3 player with surround sound system, private driveway parking, and 2 neighborhood swimming pools are also at your disposal. Enough room for the whole family, or for a fun, friends get together vacation!

Other great reasons to stay at Casa del Alba Bonita is that it is only a short distance to COSTCO, Walmart, and the Home Depot where you can purchase food, supplies and other sundries to make your stay even better. The house is also very short drive to great restaurants, supermarkets, shopping, and all the recreational activities which have made Los Cabos famous: golf and sport fishing. In fact, there are no less than 5 world class golf courses within an eight mile radius of the Punta Arena community.

Great things to do while staying in Cabo San Lucas are deep sea fishing trips, golfing, browsing the Cabo San Lucas malls and flea markets, mountain biking excursions and ATV tours in the nearby mountains, and seasonal whale watching (Jan – April) from any point of the local coastline or on an actual whale watching tour that takes you breathtakingly close to the animals in their own, natural, Sea of Cortez habitat.

Dining in Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo among celebrities is common, but simply rejoicing with the weather, enjoying the marvelous countryside, and viewing the sunsets from your very own private terrace can be just as rewarding!

The owner takes great care maintaining this vacation property as a luxury vacation rental. The house is tastefully furnished with quality items from the Williams-Sonoma and Crate and Barrel lines of furnishings; you will also find comfortable American mattresses, 300+ thread-count Egyptian cotton linens and other desirable quality details awaiting you in this fine vacation home that other vacation properties can't offer at this affordable price.

About Dawn Fazio

Casa Del Alba Bonita is the vacation home of the owners of a global real estate investment and property management partnership based in Philadelphia, PA, USA. We are here to share what we think is a stunning destination with you for a great value.

Dawn Fazio purchased this villa in 2006

Why Dawn Fazio chose Cabo San Lucas

Awesome ocean view, privacy, exclusivity, and contemporary comfort combined with convenience to the beaches of Los Cabos and downtown Cabo San Lucas. Excellent quality for the price as compared to hotels and resorts for similar square footage. Alternative choices to this house are very large houses that rent $800+/night, and if you want to step out to the beach your only choices are --a hotel room on the beach $600+/night or renting a small condo on the marina for 2 at $600+/night and up.

What makes this villa unique

Private villa with modern furnishings and amenities from the USA, large terrace overlooking a beautiful view of Cabo San Lucas Bay, only a 5 minute drive to restaurants, shopping, and night life or stay and relax at the pool or have a BBQ. Punta Arena is a modern gated community with 24 hour security, in a peaceful and relaxed family atmosphere in sunny Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My stay here at this house in Cabo was perfect! First off, the owner, Dawn, is great. It was really easy to finalize things with her.

The house is located really close to the downtown/marina area. It's less than 10 min away by car. Also nearby is a Walmart, Sam's Club and Costco. My friends and I practically went to Walmart everyday, it's literally on the way to the downtown/marina area.

There are 2 pools that are available to use if you aren't in the mood to head to the beach right at that moment and that's walking distance from the house. We tried to have a BBQ at the pool because there were grills available to use there, but we didn't have enough time to do that. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and the kitchen is fully stocked. My friends and I tried to have breakfast and lunch at the house and have dinner somewhere in town, but some days it didn't work out like that. There was wifi as well as hot/cold showers. Each room had it's own air conditioner, so if you wanted your room colder than someone else, you could change that room's temp without bothering other rooms. The balcony has a gorgeous view of the ocean. There was also a washer and dryer available and a dishwasher. The TV had cable and we found a channel to watch that was in English (had Spanish subtitles).

The only problem we had was finding the place in the beginning. We missed the turn off the main road, but did find it after we made a u-turn back.

The guards at the gate were nice, always smiling when we entered or exited the premises. I also noticed that they patrolled the neighborhood during the night and day, which made it feel much safer.

A million dollar view!

  • 5 of 5

I could write an entire review just based on the view! It was so gorgeous and ever changing from sunrise to sunset. I must have taken 100 pictures of it at different times of day. The other bonus is the terrace itself. If I had been there without kids I would have spent many more hours out there just reading and taking in the view.

The house itself is great. Impeccably clean and well maintained. Useful notices posted around to help figure out how things worked. About 1 minute walk to the pretty community pool which was great for my daughter.

3 large bedrooms with comfortable beds and 2.5 clean and modern bathrooms.

Kitchen was fully stocked and included basics. Walmart and Costco are a few minutes drive away for additional items.

The beach was about a 5 minute drive away and lots of great restaurants all around.

The neighborhood the house is in is gated and has security. The homes all seem very well maintained with Bougainvillea all around. Very welcoming and pretty.

I would highly recommend the house to travelers who prefer to not be in the noise of the marina and need a little more space and peace. Just a wonderful experience!

Huge disappointment!

  • 1 of 5

I booked this home with the intention of it living up to everything listed.Sadly it was everything but that. We paid $$$ thinking the more you pay the more quilty of a place and amenities you receive. Let's talk about customer service, well theres none! Horrible customer service, getting back to us 2 days later after countless emails and calls. The home fell short. With signs posted if we used electricity more then was aloud we would be charged $50 more in a,place like Cabo come on absolutely ridiculous! They don't advertise that anywhere on here. Let's talk about kitchen and amnesties! Wow,talk about kitchen everything in the kitchen from dishes to cookware was in broken or in usable condition. Broken cups, chipped dishes all cooking utensils all melted and dirty with rust and corrosion. Tiny bugs everywhere in the kitchen. We left fruits and vegetables out only to find them in the morning covered in bugs. They didn't proved any extra paper towel. We traveled with our family and wanted to do movie night however we couldn't get the TV and Netflix to work after making several attempts to the homeowner property management, finally a lady came out but started marking snarky comments about how the men in the house should know how to fix it and how she had no idea what she was doing.. extreamly disappointed with that service after paying X amount of dollars you would expect everything in the home to be in working order even if there's a man in the home we are on vacation not there to fix her rental property.. however after two days from not hearing from anybody my husband and father spent two nights rewiring her TV to get it working finally she responded they would have to get professional out responding two days later! Reviewing this home from what is listed on home-away there was a lot of things that were promised and we're not delivered there was no covered carport in the description it says there is. The home was extreamly difficult to find even when speaking and understanding Spanish fully. Our cab driver had a really haard time finding it. So be warned! There were also signs on the fridge that you had to press it shut there was no icemaker. In mine and my families opinion this house needs to be totally updated fridge dishwasher stove all the kitchen utensils cooking pans washer & dryer.

There were signs all over things telling us how to work things because it was broken. Fridge had tape holding it together. I wouldn't recommend staying.

Owner's Response: We are confused by this atypical negative review and its non-constructive critical tone over a few minor issues that inexplicably translated to a 1-star experience rating of the house. We have always taken pride in sharing our private home and its amenities for a reasonable price since 2006 and have never received such a lop-sided negative rating over problems that were largely self-inflicted by guest negligence with unreasonable expectations for resolution. Here are clarifications on most issues raised: 1) I personally answered all 5 of your phone calls about Netflix, since the day you arrived. Despite our best efforts over the phone and with the help of our property manager in person, twice, at trying to coach these guests to get their Netflix account working on the TV, they could not figure it out quickly. It took them 2 days to figure out how to configure our TV for their Netflix service, it did not take 2 days for us to respond to try to help them, as implied. 2) There are no bugs, I am at the house now, arrived after this guest left--you might have brought in fruit flies from the food you bought at the store. 3) All appliances are functional and in good condition (dishwasher is only 3 months old) and no other guests have ever had any issue. There is no automatic icemaker, most guests purchase bagged ice when they buy food if they want a lot of ice at once. We have plenty of very nice cookware and dishes from Pottery Barn for use in our kitchen. 4) Placards placed around the home are there to advise on ideal operation of systems and to politely remind to prevent wasteful and neglectful behavior in the house, they are not notices of broken items as the review misrepresents. 5) Contrary to popular belief, electricity is expensive in Mexico. The policy we have to reasonably limit the waste of electricity for A/C at low temperatures while not at home or with the windows open has been in effect for several years now and YOU AGREED TO OUR HOUSE RULES BEFORE BOOKING. The electric use policy is always communicated up front to guests at booking. Not surprisingly, this is the first time we have ever had to enforce it and subsequently hear a complaint about it being a surprise. 6) All photos are accurate.

Perfect fit & Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed our experience in March. We stayed here with our 4 adult children and found the home to be just the right size to have our own space to relax but also to hang out together. The gated community was a nice place to retreat to every evening after being in the city surrounded by many vacationers (& spring breakers!). We were relieved to be able to escape that and enjoy the peacefulness of Casa Del Alba Bonita.

One of our favorite memories will be sitting out on the patio every morning enjoying our coffee, nice breeze, and watching activity on the ocean coming to life. We also enjoyed opening the patio doors all of the way to let the fresh air come in morning & evening. Hanging out by the pool was also very peaceful.

We did have an issue with the air conditioning not working in one of the bedrooms. However, one call to the property manager and it was fixed that same day. We also observed security driving around the neighborhood keeping an eye on things which added to our feeling of safety.

We greatly appreciated Dawn's prompt responses to our questions and her calling to give us some tips for what to enjoy in Cabo, the gated community & her home. The home was well kept and comfortable.

We would recommend that future renters check out what is in the cupboards (spices/coffee) and refrigerator (condiments) and under the sinks in the bathrooms (sunscreen/shampoo/lotions) before going to Walmart to buy more than you will need. Previous renters are generous to leave these items behind. Dawn also has a number of beach towels to use which we greatly appreciated! We also agree with the previous reviews to rent a vehicle.

Thanks Dawn!
