Although the property was clean and the location was very good the overall rental experience for this property was terrible.
First the property did not completely match the description. Wireless internet was installed but worked sporadically and only after rebooting the system numerous times each day. We usually went to the clubhouse or a wifi cafe to connect with family via internet.
The listing said the place slept 4 but there were only beds for 3 people.
Although linens were provided they were very old and well past their usefulness. Kitchen was sparsely furnished and we bought some dishes and glassware for our use while there. The cutlery was minimal and some was bent and not certainly what I would call great.
The trailer was very dark inside. Because it had shutters daylight was kept out.
Anything that could go wrong did go wrong. There was a leak in the kitchen which went to the kitchen floor. It was fixed but took a whole day where we could not use the kitchen and had to eat out for two meals. Also the owner asked us to pick up a product at Home Depot and told us we would be reimbursed which we were not.
The washing machine stopped working while we were there. The owner did order another washer and dryer and we again lost a day waiting for delivery of the items.
The owners were very difficult to deal with. They tried to blame us for things that went wrong that were in no way our fault. They accepted no responsibility for any problems that occurred.
We have rented in various places for the past 8 years and have never had such a terrible experience as this.
The occurrences that arose for these renters were unforeseeable and beyond our control. The problems with the internet are with Frontier. We can only provide the speed that the park allows us to provide. We pay for basic cable and internet services. Some owners have renters pay for those services. We pay for this amenity. We communicated immediately that we were working on the problems as they presented themselves. We even bought a new washer/dryer combo. The kitchen is well stocked and has a pantry full of supplies. The linens may not be new, but they are plentiful. The shutters on the home keep it cool from the hot Florida sun. They are adjustable if one wants more light. The home can sleep more than 4 if sleeper sofa is used. The leak in the kitchen sink may or may not have been present when the renters came in. We cannot determine that. But the plumber said that it had been going on for some time. We don’t blame the renters for the leak. We realize stuff happens. But we can’t understand how someone could not have been aware of it. It should have been reported immediately and should not have gone on leaking so long that it caused major damage. We could have claimed reimbursement for the cost of damages. We paid the plumber plus $450 for labor and materials to repair the damage to the floor and cabinets. We had every right to hold their deposit, but we did not dispute the costs and thought we parted ways amicably. We understand it was frustrating for all of us. We did respond immediately each time. We are sorry they were unhappy, but we tried to be very accommodating to them as we do for all our guests. Life just throws us curve balls at times. Dave & Georgette Dacon
The park was nice and very friendly. It was clean and very quiet.
The trailer was clean and fully equipped. Very comfortable and accessible.
