About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 14

Perfect for families, groups, and multiple couples, this riverfront rental in Blue River has lovely views and a great combination of solitude and proximity to town.

You'll be three miles from Breckenridge's Main Street and within a modest driving distance (or bus ride) to Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, A-Basin, Loveland, Vail, and Beaver Creek ski areas.

This home has three levels with plentiful windows, wood paneling, and excellent views. The living area has a large, sectional sofa and a small sitting area near a gas stove.

The living area opens to the dining area, which has a long wood table with bench seating. The kitchen offers standard appliances, including a dishwasher, and extras like an espresso maker and a waffle iron.

There's a rec/media room on the lower level, which has a sofa, dining table, and flatscreen TV with a DVD library and player. There's free WiFi access and a selection of games for both kids and adults.

This four-bedroom, two-bathroom home accommodates up to 14 guests. The master bedroom has a king-size bed. Upstairs, the second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a full bathroom. The lower level has two bedrooms: one with three twin bunk beds and the other with a queen bed and a twin bunk.

Snowboarding and skiing are easy to find with Breckenridge under six miles away and Keystone about 17 miles away. A-Basin and Loveland are under 30 miles away, and Vail and Beaver Creek are 42 and 53 miles away, respectively. There's also plenty of space for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

The Summer Fun Park is an excellent outlet for kids and a prime venue for family fun. Breckenridge also has lots of designated trails for hiking, like Mohawk Lakes trail. There are even Segway tours and summer dog sledding with off-road scooters. The National Repertory Orchestra also offers summer concerts.

About Vacasa, CO - Summit County Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Met our needs

 • 3 of 5

Driveway was very challenging. Slopes downhill from road. Layer of ice below fresh snow. Local property manager very responsive. He came out and created a channel for melting snow and ice to drain before running down the hill to the door and applied sand. He thought the property description recommended AWD or 4WD during winter. It does not, but probably should. Reasonably clean with a few cob webs. Description would be better to state that one of the baths is adjacent to top floor single bedroom and no baths are in basement with bunk rooms. Seemed to have a perpetual wet spot in the carpet at kitchen entrance that we could not figure out where it was coming from. Directions should include that if traveling south from Breckenridge, driveway is approximately 100-150 feet past mile marker 83. Would make it much easier to find especially if arriving after dark. A bench or seat in the entry way would make it much easier to take shoes on and off. Instructions sent with lock box code mentioned a 2 car garage. There is no garage.

Great location but too many problems

 • 3 of 5

The house itself was fine and spacious, but there were almost more annoying issues than countable:

-I was supposed to receive an email with instructions/options for early check in on by the day of arrival, but I never received any email about early check in or late check out.

-The listing says there is a garage, which was not true.

-The entire driveway and front sidewalk were covered in a sheet of ice causing challenging walking conditions.

-Cleaning materials were left out around the house, but the house itself didn't seem like it had been cleaned recently.

-The shower head in the upstairs shower was broken off and laying in the tub, so 9 people had to share the single downstairs shower.

-I texted the person listed as being on call for help about the shower and he never replied.

-The kitchen sink barely worked. Water came out, but it was such a small stream that we ended up having to also use the downstairs bathroom for its sink to get water for cooking.

-The checkout instructions asked that I start the dishwasher upon departure, but there was no dishwasher detergent in the kitchen.

Owner's Response: We are very sorry to see the issues this guest encountered and that we appear to have been unreachable. We do provide local numbers as well as our company's 24/7 main line. The property manager is aware of these comments and will work on getting the issues addressed.

Owner's Response: We are sorry to see this guest was not happier with their experience. If guests do not receive emails regarding early check-in it typically means it was not available. We were unable to locate anywhere in our listing where it mentions the use of a garage, but we do apologize if this guest was expecting one. We are regularly using ice melt to rid the walkway of ice; this has been an ongoing challenge all winter. We have restocked all detergents, put away cleaning supplies, and fixed the shower head. The property manager never received a text message; we believe the guest must have been trying to text his direct line, which can only receive phone calls. Thank you!

Clean, spacious, but poorly stocked

 • 3 of 5

Was clean and spacious with beautiful views.

The front door entry was like an ice rink, was surprised there was no rock salt or gravel to spread on an area that clearly froze that way regularly.

Kitchen didn't have some of the items listed, and was poorly stocked. Not even the basics of coffee filters, salt, pepper, etc. First time I've done a VRBO property and had to go to the store to get the basics to cook with on top of the regular groceries. Plenty of parking but address was poorly marked and hard to find from the main road until you are almost past it. Very no frills property.

Owner's Response: We will try to make sure we stay more on top of keeping the walkway clear of ice; we apologize it was not ready for this guest.
