Luxury Beach House -

Bedrooms 4
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

This luxurious two-story beach house was completed in the summer of 2004. It is nestled among the trees on a bluff overlooking Cape Breton's most spectacular pebble beach..

The house is wrapped on three sides by a covered veranda with a gazebo that is set up for dining, and offers a glorious view of Cape Smokey. The house is furnished with attention to quality and comfort. Ceramic and hardwood floors throughout. A stunning view from every window.

On the main floor is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a sun-filled dining area, and a living room with a wood stove, a bedroom with queen size bed, and a bathroom with full size washer and dryer.

On the second floor is a comfortably furnished lounge, also overlooking the beach, and three bedrooms. One bedroom with a queen size bed has an en suite bath, and the other two, one with queen size bed, the other with twin beds, share a third bathroom.

A barbecue area is waiting for the Chef’s special grillades..

On the lower level is the multi purpose and conference room and a full bathroom. Direct access to the beach also from this level.

The Beach house accommodates eight persons in total privacy. All linens and staple supplies are provided. Electric heat, air exchanger and wood stove. There are 100 acres of ocean front and mountain wilderness to explore on natural hiking trails every season of the year. We also invite you to swim in the spring-fed pond and enjoy, in season, the produce, berries and flowers from the gardens. You may see eagles, many seabirds, seals and whales, moose and other wild life right from your windows.

A separate building houses the games room with a professional pool table, ping-pong table, foosball table and dart game for those rainy days or long winter evenings after skiing or snowshoeing. Petanque balls, croquet and other games are also available.

Rental runs from Sunday to Sunday. Arrival 4:00 pm, departure 11:00 am

Pets are welcome with deposit.

Excellent location, such amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group staying at the house with us for a week. This house is well positioned at the start of the Cabot Trail and the views from the upstairs front bedroom and porch are amazing. You can see the start of the cliffs aside Smokey mountain. What a treat. The beach is rocky, which makes it difficult for walking or swimming, but the sound is soothing.... the waves and returning "singing pebbles" are quite relaxing. We have stayed in many locations around the world, by far, this was one of our most enjoyable weeks so far.

Thanks so much Jitka for your hospitality, we appreciated the homemade apple pie and flowers upon our arrival.

Owner's Response: The cobble beach makes a great place for camp fires and your dropped wieners don't come up covered with sand and inedible. LOL

Private ocean beach. Beach bonfires, great moon rise, great location. The deck around the house helped on rainy days.

great oceanside location!

Singing Pebbles is a great place. I drove 2000 miles from Wisconsin with my family to get there, and it was worth it. Cape Breton is gorgeous, our host Jitka was gracious, and the property was as advertised. The beach is pretty cool. We did our swimming at nearby parks, but the beach at the house is perfect for walking and hanging out - and we only saw a few other people on "our" beach the entire week of our stay. I would definitely return if I had the chance!

Peaceful and relaxing week

  • 3 of 5

A wonderful family vacation. Loved the peace and quiet. Lots of wildlife and plenty of room. Too bad the spring-fed swimming pond was unaccessable; and we were really looking forward to a nice toasty fire in the wood stove, but we weren't allowed to use it. The scenery and views were breathtaking, and to fall asleep listening to the waves was so peaceful.

Owner's Response: We are please to offer a relaxing "away from it all" experience in such a beautiful corner of the island. The swimming pond is across the road from the beach house; and guests are advised that as the dock has no ladder, it requires a bit of agility to step up out of the water along the bank. Many guests enjoy swimming and jumping off the dock and find it quite accessible. The wood stove in the house, as of this year, is no longer available to guests due to restrictions imposed by the insurance company on rental properties. We regret this. The comfort and satisfaction of guests is our first concern. But there are some things over which we have no control. Nontheless, during the warm summer months most guests prefer an outdoor fire; and the pebble beach with plenty of drift wood is a wonderful place for a camp fire along side the surf and under the stars.

Wreck Cove vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect getaway for a family vacation. The location was ideal. It was one of the best fishing experiences with striped bass and mackerel on the ocean front, flounder a short drive to the local wharf, trout in the Highland lakes and great fishing advice from the sporting goods store owner in Ingonish. Butter tarts from the Clucking Hen, fresh seafood from fishermen or Rod's in Ingonish. Lots of artisans and so much more. Two weeks went by too quickly. Day trips to the Cabot Trail and tons of photographic opportunities, walking and hiking, nights at the shore campfire with family and friends. What more could you ask!

Jitsa was a great host and delivered a freshly baked apple pie upon our arrival. She has an amazing property.

Our hostess was kind and thoughtful. The house is very comfortable for a large group or family. The views of the ocean and Cape Smokey were a great start to each day. There are lots of fun activities in the neighbouring areas. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Nova Scotia.
