Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting Detroit Lakes to be with my Niece for her first baby and the place was perfectly located so that we were less than 15 minutes from her and her hospital. The lake cabin was comfortable and well stocked with everything needed for a home-away-from-home. Mick was great and responded quickly to all questions. Love it - thank you so much for everything!

So much better than a hotel!!

  • 4 of 5

This was our first experience renting a whole house and we are so glad we did! The "cabin" was much bigger on the inside than in appears and had plenty of room for us (two adults and two teenagers) to spread out and be comfortable. Everything we needed - dishes, pots & pans, even a very nice new gas grill, was provided. We really enjoyed watching the geese, ducks and loons on the lake. The yard is very big, too, with large shade trees and lawn chairs provided. Proximity to downtown DL and short drives to other lakes, parks and wilderness is a huge plus, too. We noticed two new flat TV's in the cabin but we never turned them on the whole week!

Expected a little more

  • 1 of 5

The home itself was okay. Simple and clean. Not well stocked with fresh towels/bedding. Clean but old and not many. Not well described as no real usable beach. Too many cat tails/lily pads etc. it was Ann okay place to sleep, but didn't spend time here. Bar /restaurant next door and highway right out the back. Needs to be more descriptive and 1000/week or less is more reasonable.

Owner's Response: Dear Ginny, Thanks so much for the comments! Sorry you weren't 100% satisfied. In 10+ years you are the first guest that has noted it was not well stocked. There were 14 towels at the cabin and thanks to you I am getting 10 new towels hoping that is enough. On the vrbo property description I stated that it is an "environmental" shoreline. Lilly pads and cat tails are natural beneficial aquaculture, whereas sandy beaches and killing/clearing natural aquaculture typically requires using un-natural and environmentally unfriendly products and procedures. I do everything I can to keep it in its natural state and don't use any chemicals or other toxins. Thanks again for feedback as I am always striving for continuos improvement and 100% guest satisfaction. Regards, Mick

Lake and dock area needs to be cleaned up. Lots of weeds. Bathroom (1/2) bath, the lever for the hot water was broken and just glue to stay on. It came off for the first person that touched it.

Cabin was very clean. Great location for us, food next door was great.

Thank you.

Stayed here for a wedding.

Fabulous place quite, but right down the road from Detroit Lakes. Great for fishing, bird watching, or a BBQ on the deck. Nice dock. I would recommend this property to everyone.

We arrived from California, tired but excited to spend 9 days on the lake. We were not disappointed. Such a peaceful restful place. Thank you Mick for the chance to come back home, we love Minnesota.
