Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)
Our upscale condominium offers an unobstructed, 180 degree view of Oahu’s spectacular North Shore. Enjoy the dramatic view extending from Waimea Bay and the historic surf town of Haleiwa at one end, to the picturesque beach where the TV series 'Lost' was filmed on the other.
Unlike some rentals with ocean 'views' or beach 'access', our condominium is literally right on the white sandy beach. The sounds of the surf outside the master bedroom will lull you to sleep at night.
This condo is in one of the most prestigious developments on the North Shore. There are only forty five units in this quiet, five-story building. Our unit, on the fourth floor, affords spectacular views of the beach just a few steps away.
Our condo association, as well as local zoning regulations, prohibit rentals for less than a one month minimum. We do not make exceptions. (PLEASE don't bother to ask. We get too many requests for shorter stays, so they will not be responded to.)
Our building is principally comprised of quiet, thoughtful owner-occupants. We stay here ourselves whenever we can. We care about our neighbors and respect their choice of this wonderful area as a tranquil home. If you are looking for a place for riotous partying and late-night revelry, please look elsewhere. As a consequence of previous rental experience and desire to be respectful of our neighbors, even though there are two bedrooms, we don’t rent to two-couple groups. A single couple with children will be considered.
Our development is extremely private, quiet and secure. Entry is through keyed lobbies or through the covered, gated parking structure with your own reserved stall. Two elevators service the single building. Building amenities include swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and oceanfront gym.
Our rental is comfortably furnished with everything you will need to make your vacation relaxing. It is a sizable 1,400 square feet and has two bedrooms, each connected to a full bath. One bedroom has a king size bed, the other a double.
Furnishings are high-quality “island-style”. Cabinets are made of luxurious koa wood. Flooring is a combination of gorgeous South American travertine and soft wall-to-wall carpet.
There is a fully-equipped kitchen with all the comforts of home. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. The television is a high-def 44 inch LCD with cable and access to Netflix and Amazon. Bring your laptop; the condo is configured for either wired or wireless Internet access. Our Internet-based phone provides free, unlimited telephone calls to anywhere in the United States.
High quality linens are provided. Also available are snorkeling equipment, beach chairs, a picnic basket and cooler, beach towels, board games and an eclectic book and video collection.
There is a sizable lanai (over 150 square feet) where you can enjoy romantic sunrises and sunsets. The view is perpetually engaging with changing colors, humpback whales in the winter and turtles year-round. We frequently dine on the lanai or simply enjoy a leisurely glass of wine.
The location is nothing less than stunning. Waialua is a quiet, rural community on Oahu’s fabled North Shore, just three miles from the restaurants and shops of Haleiwa. You have seen this area portrayed in a number of movies and television shows. If you are ambitious enough, you could walk four to five miles down an unobstructed beach.
We are also just minutes from the world’s most famous surf spots including Pipeline, Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. From our lanai in the winter, you can view sensational tow-in surfing beyond the reef protecting our beach.
Waialua beach, and its clean white sand, is known for having protected waters and exceptional snorkeling. It is rarely crowded. During early morning walks, your footsteps will frequently be the only ones in the sand.
For visitors looking for other types of outdoor activities, there is abundant hiking, horseback riding, wind and kite surfing and tennis opportunities. A miles-long paved jogging and bike riding trail is two blocks away.
Golfers can enjoy over 25 courses within a thirty mile radius. These include resort courses like Turtle Bay and Ko Olina, famed for PGA, LGPA and Senior Tour events.
Looking for something more exotic? International polo is played on a beach-front field just a few miles away. Skydiving lessons are provided down the road at Dillingham Airport.
Within forty five minutes are cultural and historic highlights like the Arizona Memorial, Bishop Museum, Iolani Palace and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Approximately equidistant are Honolulu International Airport, downtown Honolulu and the energy of famed Waikiki Beach.
There is no smoking or pets allowed in either our rental unit or on the lanai.
Due to our need to make sure that tenants will be a good fit, we don't provide for instant on-line booking. Please contact us through the website and we'll get back in touch ASAP. We look forward to hearing from you!

About Mark Service
Owned by a professional couple living in Honolulu. We take great pride in our condo and we manage, clean and care for it ourselves. Unless we are out of town, we are generally available in the event of any problems.
Mark Service purchased this Condo in 2004
Why Mark Service chose Mokuleia
This property provides what we consider to be a blend of the best Oahu's north shore has to offer. Waialua is a quiet rural area and is removed from Kamehameha Highway which can be, at times, congested and noisy. Despite the 'sleepy town' nature of the area, this building was constructed with the highest quality materials during a unique time when oceanfront condominiums were allowed to be built on the north shore. This is no longer the case, which makes this property truly unique.

Stunning! Surf, beach, snokelling, humpbacks! Wow!
From the first step into Jane and Mark's condo, we knew we had made the best choice possible for a month of much needed rejuvenation. Jane met us at the front door and showed us through the beautiful condo. The pictures you see on-line are exactly what you get, just better. They have a folder full of information about the paintings and furniture. Remarkable. The kitchen is perfectly equipped, linens fresh, cleaning products at hand, shampoo, conditioner in the bathrooms. As you walk to the lanai, the sound of the surf, clear blue water, beach that you can walk on for miles, turtles swimming back and forth, surfers catching the large waves beyond the reefs and humpbacks jumping even further away are sights to behold. They have the perfect height chairs and table to sit and watch to your heart's content.
The owners of other condos are friendly, the cement building keeps away any noise pollution and the garage is locked. We never felt uncomfortable about our safety, in the condo, Haleiwa and Waialua. Actually, we felt safe everywhere. The local farmer's markets and stands provided all the produce we needed. There is so much to see and do on the north shore we literally had to drag ourselves away from it to see the sights elsewhere on the island. We did rent a car and it took us about 50 minutes to get to downtown Honolulu or to Waikiki. if you've found this site, look no further.
Kathleen and Alan, we are incredibly happy that you enjoyed our condo We work hard to make it as inviting and easy for guests as possible and its terrific when this is appreciated. Thanks for the great review! You guys were wonderful and we would love to have you back at any time.
Five star excellence!
What an incredible experience! Thank you, Mark and Jane, for your attention to detail, your lightening fast response to our questions, and for the opportunity to spend time in such a beautiful place. You clearly know what vacationers need and want in a home away from home. From the visually pleasing and well cared for interior to the stunning beach setting, this was everything we’d hoped for. We were constantly delighted by the beauty around us as we relaxed on the very private lanai; the gorgeous ocean waves, sea turtles swimming about in the water below, awesome colors in the sky - including rainbows and the moon and stars, and a beautiful waterfront for swimming, snorkeling, or relaxing. We could go on and on!
We took great pleasure the serene quiet of this lovely oceanfront condo and of the area in general. It was a peaceful, relaxing place to settle in after enjoying the distinctly different energy of the Waikiki area or the many other vibrant places such as nearby Haleiwa, Turtle Bay, and beyond. Try exploring the other direction as well! Our hike to Hidden Beach featured extraordinary, powerful waves and even monk seals on two occasions. Also not far in that direction are more beautiful beaches to check out, along with the Kealia Trail - a great hike that brings you high up to some spectacular views of the area.
We appreciate the unforgettable experience of our stay at Konane Kai and the personal touches by Mark and Jane that made us feel very welcome. We knew immediately we’d come to the right place and would certainly welcome the chance to return. Thank you so much!
Wow! Thanks for the wonderful and descriptive review. I think you captured exactly why we like the area so much. We are delighted that you had such a good time and hope to see you again some time. Warmest aloha from both of us.
The best part of our trip was actually this accommodation and it's location! It is away from the busyness of Honolulu, but everything you really need is still close by. And, the view is incredible! Awesome waves, good snorkelling and turtles, turtles, turtles....
The owners are accommodating, excellent to work with, and their description of the condo is very accurate. The condo is quiet, clean, well maintained and extremely well stocked. Thank you, Mark and Jane, for sharing this lovely place with us!
Lloyd and Arlene,
We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay so much. We love this time of year on the beach; when the surf is picking up and the air is getting a bit brisk. We were disappointed that the whales seemed to make a late entrance this year and you missed them. We just saw our first few today.
Here's hoping our paths cross another time.
Aloha, Mark and Jane.
Heaven on Oahu!
It’s difficult to find the words to express how nice our stay at Konane Kai was. It was one of those vacations where everything just fell into place. To start, the condo is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable and private that we felt at home right away. Everything is first class (including designer furniture and artwork/photography by G. Brad Lewis and Kim Taylor Reece)! And the million-dollar, 180 degree view! My husband kept planning outings and all I wanted to do was to sit on the balcony – er, lanai – watching turtles galore (in the water and sunning themselves on the beach), tons (literally!) of whales, gorgeous rainbows, and record-breaking surf. (Not to mention the weekend night "squidders!" There is really no way to describe this phenomenon, so you will just have to experience it yourself!!) When we did go out, we had easy access to quaint historic Hale’iwa with its cute little restaurants, food trucks (YUM!), and shops. It reminded me of my 1960s summers on Long Beach Island, NJ. We were even lucky enough to be there during the rare “Eddie” surf competition at Waimea Bay – what a thrill! The wonderful memorials and museums of Honolulu/Waikiki Beach were just over 30 minutes away, along a beautiful route, but it was always nice at the end of the day to return “home.” Thank you so much, Mark and Jane, for sharing your place with us. It was a magical month we will never forget!
Another remarkable stay
We had another wonderful stay in Jane and Mark's condo. The new kitchen is lovely and the art work was beautiful. Being away from the noise and rush of the city is what we look for in a vacation and you have that here. The condo has everything one needs for a long stay. This year the beach and the waves were awesome. We had 30 foot waves at one time on the N. Shore. It was really something to view. Our time on the lanai is one thing that we look forward to. You can not see or hear your neighbors, just the beach and the water. A glass of wine and the sunset is a perfect way to end the day. Shopping is close and the Waialua Saturday Market is one we go to every weekend and stock up for the week. We found the concerts in the park, up by the library in Waialua, this year. They were fun to go and listen to. Again, thank you for the use of your beautiful home. Hope to see you soon.
I rented this condo while working at nearby Wheeler AAF for several weeks. It was an excellent (and much cheaper) alternative to staying all the way down in Waikiki and dealing with Honolulu traffic every day. A coworker and I were able to share the condo very comfortably since there are two bedrooms with private bathrooms. My biggest worry was that my boss would find out we were staying in such a nice place!
The highlights of the property are the incredible views from the lanai, exposure to ocean breezes, and the serenity of the surroundings. Waking up to a view of the Pacific (and coffee on the lanai) every morning was incredible. Being on the third floor made it fun/easy to spot sea turtles and have great views of the sunset. The subtle sounds of wind and waves accompany you at all times. It's hard not to feel relaxed in such an atmosphere.
A few details:
- We were there during a relatively warm period in July/August, but the trade winds and ceiling fans in each room kept us comfortable.
- Although the apartment is in a big condo building, we never heard the neighbors once. Good soundproofing.
- The condo has everything you need in terms of kitchen appliances, towels, linens, and even snorkeling gear.
- Washing machine/dryer work quite well - very handy.
- The condo includes a reserved parking spot in the ground-level garage. The spot itself it a little tight, but we appreciated the shade and the security of being in the garage.
- Unlike some other parts of Waialua, the ocean in front of the condo building has a sandy bottom for the first 25 feet or so, which is really nice. Beyond that the bottom turns rocky but is perfect for snorkeling and swimming with (near) the turtles. The reef keeps the waters calm.
- Running/biking trail along Waialua Beach Road is great for morning exercise.
- Mark and Jane were easy to work with and obviously take pride in their home away from home.
Being in Hawaii for several weeks was an unforgettable experience. Wish I could go back!
Scott, we are really pleased our home worked out so well for you and thanks for the glowing review. I'm hopeful that our paths will cross again sometime and perhaps you and your family can come back to Hawaii. Thanks once again for taking such great care of our place. Best regards, Mark and Jane
