Palmetto Dunes has a great location from which you can easily explore both ends of the island and it is just a short walk to the beach.
The beauty of our unit is that it is very spacious (1500 sq ft) with a newly renovated kitchen.
We came to Hilton Head with our two little boys and mother-in-law. This condo was perfect! Lots of space for all of us, comfortable, quiet, and clean! It was only a short drive to the beach and a quick walk to the pool which was never crowded. We were able to bike across the street to Shelter Cove to see the fireworks and had fun biking all over Palmetto Dunes. The lagoons were nice for fishing and alligator watching. We would definitely recommend this condo!
Took my mother as a 70th birthday treat. House was quiet and perfectly located near the beach and golf.
I recommend it for a great getaway.
We enjoyed our stay at this condo. It is a good location and had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The newly renovated kitchen is nice but the condo does need some other updates.
We found these accommodations to be warm and comfortable and within walking distance of the beaches, general store, and tennis courts. The kitchen had been newly renovated and had every convenience we needed. Even though this was a 2 bedroom villa, it had a spacious living/dining area and it was decorated nicely. The Master bedroom opened to a small patio with some outdoor furniture and a grill. The bed was very, very comfortable. A few weeks after we left, the owners updated all the televisions to larger screen HD. We had a very nice stay here and it was affordable.
We had a wonderful first visit to Hilton Head. The condo/villa was spacious, comfortable, pleasant, and quiet. The property was well maintained and the photos on the listing are accurate. Everything worked well at the condo, and it provided us with a cool, quiet, and comfortable place to relax and sleep well. Palmetto Dunes is centrally located, and Queen's Grant is a convenient location. We rode our bikes to the beach (5 minutes) or drove the car (about 3 minutes to the Palmetto Dunes Beach House, where there is parking, restrooms, and a snack bar). We enjoyed riding our bikes on the beach in the morning when it was quiet. We also used the bike paths, which were shady under the pine trees and live oaks, One morning we put the bikes on the bike rack, parked the car at Coligny Plaza, and biked to South Beach Marina and Harbour Town. We used the condo's beach chairs and boogie boards for afternoons at the beach, where we enjoyed the warm surf. The condo also has an umbrella and beach towels. On Tuesday evening, we watched the fireworks in Shelter Cove. (If walking or biking there, be sure to use the pathway that goes under William Hilton Parkway.) We were amazed by the ancient Indian Shell Mound in the Sea Pines Nature Preserve and also enjoyed the boardwalk over the old rice plantation there. The birding at nearby Pinckney Island was breathtaking; at Ibis Island, we saw Little Blue Heron chicks being fed by their parents, ibises building nests, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, Great Egrets, Green Herons, Tri-Color Herons, and a few gators.
We had a delicious meal at Hinoki Japanese restaurant on New Orleans Rd. Fancy Q had nice sushi, too. We loved the fresh quiche (and they had four types) at The French Bakery at Pineland Station Mall.
I've visited HHI 7 times in the past 3 years, and this condo would not be on my suggested list. The decor is dated... the nearby pool was difficult to find and in horrific condition. The kitchen has been modernized, and is quite nice. The floor plan is spacious and accomodating, but other than that, the feel is 80's at best. Palmetto Dunes is a nice place to stay with many convenient options, but you can do better in accomodations.
Queen's Grant is located in the Palmetto Dunes Plantation. Our villa is a short walk to the Palmetto Dunes General Store, the ocean, and Coligny Square!
