Experience Cape Cod living on Bass River! Our 1812 farmhouse was the prize possession of a Nantucket ship captain E.D. Ellis. Transported along Nantucket Sound down beautiful Bass River to its current location on South Street, the farmhouse reserves many of its original features with today's modern updates of central air, heat, and water. Our large sunlit vacation home is beautifully arranged for a family of 8+ or a couple looking to get away.
Our Cape Farmhouse has a fun combination of bedrooms- a queen downstairs and a large loft upstairs complete with two sets of trundled bunks with memory foam mattresses, and a queen bed with its own curtained off area and full bath. Families love the nautical decor of the loft with the comforts of the Cape breezes or full A/C if you prefer. Bedding/sheets included for your convenience.
Two baths, one up, one down and one hot water outdoor shower allows families to get ready quickly for a night of fun after a day at the beach. Downstairs bathroom has original claw foot tub and sink with modern updates- large shower head and on demand hot water! Large, comfy bath towels, hair dryer are available for your convenience.
The dining area seats 8 comfortably or seating for 2 in the kitchen. Farmhouse kitchen has all conveniences needed including pancake grill, waffle maker, and ice crush blender for summer drinks on the patio. Vintage, yet extremely comfortable, wrought iron table and chairs are ready for your morning breakfast under our 150 year old oak or get comfortable with a book and a cup of coffee in our Adirondack chairs on the farmers porch! Dinner outside is easy with two tables that seat 6 each so invite friends and neighbors for a cookout- grill, utensils, lobster pot, clam boil essentials all stocked and ready for you. Indoor/outdoor serving wear serves 12. Our spacious, landscaped yard is large enough for a game of bocce, football, or frisbee- or simply sit and enjoy a book in one of the 5 included Adirondack chairs. Plenty of space for shade or sun- your choice!
The 4 season room features a 52" flat screen (complete with high speed internet and full cable) with seating for 10 yet is cozy and comfortable enough for a few to have a glass of cheer while watching the game. Gentle breezes and sunlight flow throughout the room with its many windows- door accessible to the farmers porch.
Only minutes from Rt. 28 or quiet walks along the waterfront of Bass River or Nantucket Sound beaches are some of the warmest on Cape Cod. We provide beach towels, beach umbrella, beach buggy, chairs free of charge.
A quick walk to the right takes you to beautiful Windmill Beach- passing by Beach Eats and Great Island Bakery, you can grab a wonderful treat and watch the sun rise or set over Bass River. Truly a wonderful way to start and end a day! Take a walk along River Road (or enjoy the Bass River Boat tour to see it all!) experiencing traditional Cape Cod homes dating back to the early 1700's- from Capes to Mansions you will see it all! Herons, piping plovers, Eagles, and numerous other shore birds nest along the river- making their homes in the CC Beach Roses. Bring the kids early morning for shelling and pick up starfish, live conch, hermit crabs and urchins along the rocky ledges. (Please leave the live animals in their habitats, don't bring them home for souvenirs!)
Take a left and you are moments from the busy downtown of Yarmouth and a short drive to Hyannis. Mini Golf, restaurants, and a short walk to a market make our location perfect!
Centrally located on Cape Cod- you can get to Upper or Lower Cape quickly and conveniently. Lots of places for kids and adults- galleries, museums, mini-golf, Bass River boat tours, parasailing, banana boating, kayaking, SUP rentals. Watch the West Dennis Beach Kite Surfers from any of our beaches or rent a kayak and a quick paddle will get you there up close and personal!
Whale watching is a favorite among guests from Spring-Fall (April -Oct is best) or take a scenic tour aboard the Cape Cod Scenic Railway. Travel along the Bay through the CC Canal along side cranberry bogs, salt marshes and waterways.
HIGHLY recommend taking the Bass River boat tour to see the Mansions along the waterway and hear the history of the area. Learn the pirating history
