Beautiful spacious home and absolutely gorgeous location!
My family and I spent a week here for New Year's and it was awesome. We had from 5-11 of us there throughout the week, and we were SO comfortable. Plenty of space and comfortable rooms and beds. House is warm and comfy and beautifully decorated. With it being winter, we made great use of the woodburning stove, and the weather was mild enough that we even got to make a fire on the beach (just STEPS from the huge deck!) and stargaze -- it was magical. Even saw shooting stars! :)
Shawn was wonderful to work with and stayed in communication to make sure we had all the info we needed before and during our stay. We had no issues accessing the house, and had everything we needed -- linens, towels, pillows, blankets, cooking utensils and other 'necessities' were all ample and easy to find. Was also wonderful to have a (very nice) clothes washer and dryer on premise.
As I said the space is perfect for a large family, or for a couple families to share, and while the common spaces on the main level were all connected so that we could all visit easily and hang out, there was plenty of "private" space with the bedrooms, upstairs living room, and the deck space.
The kitchen area being right in the main living space worked great for our family, but appliances could use repairs/updates. It was a little challenging to cook when all 11 of us were there with only 2 burners functioning on the stove top. The freezer also didn't seal (may just need defrosting), so things like our ice cream didn't stay frozen. MINOR compared to all the wonderful amenities of this lake house.
Overall, we all loved this space and made some wonderful family memories that we'll take with us forever. We are hoping to book the house again in the summer sometime, because I'm sure that as wonderful as it was for us over the week of New Year's i can only imagine how incredible the space must be in the summer time! :)
Beautiful home for a family vacation!!
Beautiful home on the lake. Very clean and updated. Love the bathrooms. All 4 of them. Deck is amazing. Didn’t have very good weather but we were still able to be outside and enjoy the view
because of that deck. Love the paddle board. All of my adult children made it on and had a ball and so did my daughter in laws!!😊 hope to come back next year. God willing!!! Thank you Shawn!!!
Perfect Lake Getaway
Perfect location on the lake for boating, fishing, swimming and just relaxing. The decks are an awesome place to relax and just enjoy the scenery. Will definitely book here again.
The location is great, right on the water and would be well suited for a stay in the summer.
A few things suggested for the owner. 1) Cable (even basic) TV. I know we were there in the winter, but would have been nice for Thanksgiving football, etc. and most certainly having shared that information in advance. Cable wires are exposed everywhere and multiple TVs in closets but no cable. The upstairs was a beautiful refurb, hope continues downstairs and wires etc are fixed. The cottage was not very clean when we arrived and I would say that was our biggest issue. We wiped counter tops off and were sticky and dirty along with most of the cooking pots and pans/utensils. If we wiped the floor the papertowel was black. The bathrooms are marvelously updated and look really nice. We were disappointed to learn after our arrival that one of the showers in the downstairs bathroom was not working. For a large group, this is good to know ahead of time and it could be a problem if counting on all bathrooms to be in working order. We enjoyed our stay and would consider again. I would suggest adding in a cleaning fee to really do a thorough clean between stays.
I am glad you enjoyed the stay. I was surprised to read about the surfaces, that was the area of emphasis for our cleaner (per my request) and it looked good when your group arrived (I thought), though I did not wipe it down to check. We will pay closer attention to it in the future. Sorry it was not cleaner.
I agree with the TV comment. Not much of an issue with adults in the summer, but with kids or thanksgiving, I agree. Plan to add cable this year.
The shower actually works down stairs. You have to pull out the upper knob. Not really intuitive, but that is how that shower works.
Thank you for the feedback. We are hoping to improve the property each year, and the feedback is helpful.
Fabulous lake house !
What a memorable vacation! Owners were accommodating and super easy to work with. House was huge - awesome floor plan perfect for family getaways. Great kitchen. Second floor deck was great to enjoy coffee on a rainy morning. Location on Keuka Lake is perfect. Lots and lots of space to kick back, relax and enjoy the lake life. We will definitely return.
The place was great. Huge gated deck for little ones or pets. The owner provides just about everything you could think of except meals and drinks. Everything was very clean and neat. I will be staying here again!!
