About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

This beautiful lakefront log cabin is located within the gated mountain log home community of Hidden Lake. It sits approx. 10 miles south of the town of Marion, NC below the I-40 interchange, and off of Hwy 226S. Cabin sits on the private 10 acre fishing lake within the community. Home is a short walk to the lakeside boardwalk and common area that has a seasonal inground pool, poolhouse (with shower & bathroom facilities) and a small jetted whirpool spa, that overlooks the lake below. The front porch has wooden rocking chairs, perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings. Deer & wild turkey are often seen in wooded areas!

Home is decorated with rustic log cabin furnishings and is 3 levels. Master bedroom and bath are on the second level, along with a large loft area overlooking the great room. The master bath has a garden tub with separate shower and a double vanity. There is a TV located in the master bedroom, which has a king size bed. Both the master bedroom and loft open to an outside deck area, with views of the lake. There is also a combination air hockey/pool table (that flips over) in the loft area for kids - or those young at heart!

The main level features a guest bedroom with queen size bed, full bath, kitchen, dining area that seats 6, and great room with leather furnishings, brand new flat screen TV with DVD/BlueRay player, and a seasonal gas log fireplace. The kitchen has all modern appliances, including coffee pot (and filters) and is stocked with all the comforts & necessities of home. There is a large screened porch with both dining and seating areas, at the back of the home, just off the dining room. The great room opens to more outside deck areas, which includes a gas grill and more deck chairs.

In the lower level are 2 additional bedrooms and a full bath. A washer and dryer are available for guests use. The family room here features a large screen TV and DVD player. Leather furnishings also decorate this room. One of the guest bedrooms opens out to an exterior patio overlooking the lake, as does the family room. One of the bedrooms has a full-size bed, while the other features 2 twin beds with a trundle bed that pulls out from underneath one of them. There is also a nice selection of books and games to enjoy as well!

This home is fully equipped with all linens, towels, and kitchen items that you will need. A basic starter supply of paper products, dish/laundry detergents, and trash bags is provided. You will need to provide any extras, along with your own bath soap, shampoo, etc. This cabin has all the luxuries of being at your very own home. Set in a wooded area, it has a very cozy feel to it, while being situated in a quieter area of the community.

Guests also have full use of all common areas within the community to include the Lakeside boardwalk & fishing dock. Swimming in the lake is NOT permitted, and fishing is catch & release only. If you have your own canoe or kayak, you are welcome to bring that with you, as there are no boats to use or rent at the lake area. The lake is not large enough for motorized boats of any type. Additional fishing, boating and swimming beaches are available at Lake James State Park, approx. 25 minutes from us.

There is a seasonal inground pool, poolhouse with bathroom facilities, and jetted whirlpool spa at the Lakeside Pool Area. There are some picnic areas with grills both at the Lakeside Park and the smaller Streamside Park. There is even a small playground area for younger children. The community also has designated walking trails for you to enjoy. Local area information, attractions, brochures, menus & maps are provided in the home to help you find your way around more easily.

We regret that we are unable to accept pets of any type. This is also a non-smoking residence. When sending us an inquiry, please be sure to include your email address and phone number. Come visit us today at Hidden Lake!

Great 4th Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Our weekend with another family was fabulous! Theresa provided excellent directs to the cabin as well as a list of fireworks events, closest grocery stores, etc. The cabin was clean and spacious enough for 9 people to not be on top of each other. We all loved the lake and pool area. You can tell the community is well taken care of! We will definitely return for a repeat visit!

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a beautiful, clean, spacious, quiet place to relax with your family, this cabin is the perfect place! We enjoyed walking down to the pool to swim and the dock to fish! We took day trips to the Biltmore and Little Switzerland, as well as Lake James, where there's a great swimming beach. We were there with our family of four, but this cabin would be a great option for a multi-generational trip as well, as there is plenty of room and even two living room spaces with TV's. The only downside (which could be an upside, depending on your perspective) was that we had no cell phone service and there was no Internet. It had been a long time since we were so disconnected from the world! However, there's a land line in the cabin in case of emergency, so that was reassuring. We also wished there were more stores/restaurants closer by for dinner options, but again, being away from everything might be just what you're looking for!

The cabin is immaculate with great, comfy furniture and all the kitchen supplies you might want. We especially loved the screened-in back porch!

I would definitely recommend this comfy cabin for any family looking for a great getaway!

Beautiful Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this cabin for 4 days and enjoyed every minute of it. The cabin is in a gated community with plenty of privacy from other neighbors. The cabin is so beautiful and comfortable and had everything we needed. I loved the large garden soaker tub in the master and the multi-level deck access. My favorite area of the cabin was the basement area where my husband and I and 2 children slept. It has 2 bedrooms and complete bath and living area and deck access of its own. The cabin is very clean and the property manager Theresa is a pleasure to work with. She made everything so easy. The cabin is close to small towns like Marion so you don't have to travel far to stores or get things you need. We visited Linville Caverns and Crabtree Falls and did some gem mining. We enjoyed fishing out by the lake on quiet afternoons. This is my new favorite mountain cabin and we will definitely return for another visit in the future!

Wonderfully Kept Cabin, Excellent Location!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent three days at Hidden Lake with our 8-year old son and his best buddy on our last vacation. The cabin was beautifully kept and had all the amenities you want when you're trying to get away from the rat race for a bit. We took advantage of the lack of distractions (mainly no wi-fi) and ate long breakfasts with the kids and took naps on the screened porch. Weather was cool and inviting in July. Didn't expect that. After an invigorating hike at Chimney Rock, we spent a great deal of time at the pool and fishing dock (an easy two-minute walk from the cabin) and our city kids had a blast catching fish. Actually, they enjoyed the ones that got away just as much! The grandparents stopped in and took the kids to Linville Caverns nearby and the hubby and I took a kid-free drive and hike along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything seemed close and Marion had all we needed. Of special note was the Crooked Door Coffee House (when I needed wi-fi unexpectedly for a work crisis) and Bruce's Fabulous Foods in Marion with so many flavors of cheesecake I lost count. All of this and friendly neighbors! Theresa made the whole process so easy and was a welcoming guide for the area. I highly recommend this cabin and area for anyone visiting this part of NC.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We loved the house and the location. The lake and woods were beautiful and very peaceful. There was lots of room to relax on the large decks. The screened in porch with a great view of the woods and Hidden Lake was a real treat. We spent lots of time there just relaxing and talking. The things we wanted to do like gold prospecting were close by, and we found gold, it was wonderful! It was great to come back to a hot shower and good home cooked meal in a kitchen that had everthing we needed. When we come back to NC we will stay at Hidden Lake again. We all give two thumbs up! Thanks for everthing!
