This beautiful lakefront log cabin is located within the gated mountain log home community of Hidden Lake. It sits approx. 10 miles south of the town of Marion, NC below the I-40 interchange, and off of Hwy 226S. Cabin sits on the private 10 acre fishing lake within the community. Home is a short walk to the lakeside boardwalk and common area that has a seasonal inground pool, poolhouse (with shower & bathroom facilities) and a small jetted whirpool spa, that overlooks the lake below. The front porch has wooden rocking chairs, perfect for enjoying the natural surroundings. Deer & wild turkey are often seen in wooded areas!
Home is decorated with rustic log cabin furnishings and is 3 levels. Master bedroom and bath are on the second level, along with a large loft area overlooking the great room. The master bath has a garden tub with separate shower and a double vanity. There is a flat screenTV located in the master bedroom, which has a king size bed. Both the master bedroom and loft open to an outside deck area, with views of the lake. There is also a smaller sized combination hockey/pool table (that flips over) in the loft area for kids - or those young at heart!
The main level features a guest bedroom with queen size bed, full bath, kitchen, dining area that seats 6, and great room with leather furnishings, flat screen TV with DVD/BlueRay player, and a seasonal (Oct thru March only) gas log fireplace. The kitchen has all modern appliances, including coffee pot (and filters) and is stocked with all the comforts & necessities of home. There is a large screened porch with both dining and seating areas, at the back of the home, just off the dining room. The great room opens to more outside deck areas, which includes a gas grill and more deck chairs.
In the lower level are 2 additional bedrooms and a full bath. A washer and dryer are available for guests use. The family room here features a large flat screen TV and DVD player. Leather furnishings also decorate this room. One of the guest bedrooms opens out to an exterior patio overlooking the lake, as does the family room. One of the bedrooms has a full-size bed, while the other features 2 twin beds with a trundle bed that pulls out from underneath one of them. There is also a nice selection of books and games to enjoy as well!
This home is fully equipped with all linens, towels, and kitchen items that you will need. However, you will need to bring your own pool towels during the summer months. A small, basic starter supply of paper products, dish/laundry detergents, and trash bags is provided. You will need to provide any extras, along with your own bath soap, shampoo, etc. This cabin has all the luxuries of being at your very own home. Set in a wooded area, it has a very cozy feel to it, while being situated in a quieter area of the community.
Guests also have full use of all common areas within the community to include the Lakeside boardwalk & fishing dock (which is literally a 2 minute walk from the cabin). Swimming in the lake itself is NOT permitted, and fishing is catch & release only. If you have your own canoe or kayak, you are welcome to bring that with you, as there are no boats to use or rent at the lake area. The lake is not large enough for motorized boats of any type. Additional fishing, boating and swimming beaches are available at Lake James State Park, approx. 25 minutes from us.
There is a seasonal inground pool, poolhouse with bathroom facilities, and jetted whirlpool spa at the Lakeside Pool Area (which all residents & guests use). You will need your lake/pool pass, provided at check-in, to access this area. There are some picnic areas with charcoal grills both at the Lakeside Park and the smaller Streamside Park (on Shoal Creek Trail). There is even a small playground area for younger children at the lake park. The community also has designated walking trails for you to enjoy. Local area information, attractions, brochures, menus & maps are provided in the home to help you find your way around more easily.
