Quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently located near most major sights/attractions.
If you are looking for a place to slow down, unwind and relax, come stay at the "Bligh Ranch". This is a cozy, charming ranch-style home, built in the 50's that sits on 3.5 acres in Littleton, Colorado.
With comfortable, mid-century style and décor, you'll feel yourself transported to the slower paced 1950's; a place to truly recharge! You will have the entire property to relax and roam. There is plenty of off-street parking in a large driveway/parking area in front of the home. The house has 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a library/game room, living room, dining room and kitchen. As a bonus, there is a covered patio where you can enjoy morning coffee in the quiet, park-like setting.
The home was built in 1953, and was occupied by the original owners until recently. Because of this, almost all of the furnishings and décor is original and vintage, giving a relaxed, "staying-at-Grandma's" type of ambience.
The bedroom features a full size bed with tempur-pedic mattress. (Additional guests can use the full-size sofa bed with memory foam mattress which is located in the living room and/or the couch in the game room).
The game room has a variety of board games (Scrabble, Monopoly), playing cards, and an extensive choice of books to read. As mentioned earlier, there is a very comfortable couch for relaxing or sleeping.
The living room is cozy with a chair, bookshelf, sleeper couch and coffee tables.
The dining area is airy and bright with a beautiful view of the garden in the back of the house. The table can seat up to six people.
The bathroom includes toilet, sink, and shower/bath with rails for those that might need assistance.
Small, but full kitchen, complete with "percolator" coffee pot, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and small dinette. You are welcome to use dishes, glasses, pots, and utensils. Help yourself to the use of spices, vinegars, olive oil, flour, salt, pepper, coffee and tea, that are part of the kitchen. Feel free to cook, barbecue---please make yourself at home! If you like, we will provide you with muffins, Danish or doughnuts daily.
The "modern" conveniences; microwave, coffeemaker and toaster are in the utility room located off of the kitchen.
Depending on your mood and the weather, you can dine in the kitchen (2 people), the dining room (up to 6), or outdoors on the patio (chairs for 4). There is a charcoal grill and tools available for your use.
The rear of the house opens up to a mini-park-like setting; lots of varieties of trees, flowers and bushes. Also, lots of bunnies, squirrels and different birds (blue jays, hawks, mourning doves) call the ranch home.
Although the grounds are quiet, the location is perfect for exploring what Colorado has to offer! Shopping, dining, gambling, sports events, skiing, theatre, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and more are a short distance away.
As a guest you will have complete privacy, as we do not live on site. We are about five minutes away and of course can be reached by either phone or text. We love to interact with our guests and share tips on things to do and places to go, but certainly are mindful and respect those that enjoy their privacy.
In keeping with the 50's theme, please be advised that there is not a television in the home. We do however, have WiFi and will provide you with a password so that you can access your emails, etc.
Although we do have a modern-style refrigerator, stove and dishwasher in the kitchen, there is no garbage disposal. We will provide you with bags and a place to dispose of your food scraps.
Please observe quiet time from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM. We have a no smoking policy that includes cigarettes, cigars, pipes and cannabis, both in the house and on the grounds outside.
We love this place and hope you will too. That said please respect the space and care for it as if it were your own.

Cute and comfortable
Beautiful outdoor area. Convenient location. Very homey.
If staying on a place of days gone by is what you want this is the place. I enjoyed the slower pace.
We enjoyed our stay. The home was cleaned and well kept. The owner gracious and welcoming.I just wish the fireplace would have been operational at the time of our stay.
Nice little property
Even though you're in the middle of Littleton, this proprty makes you feel like you are all by yourself. Quiet and secluded. Overall a nice little property!
Thanks, Matt for your review! Glad that our place worked for your golf extravaganza.

BACK TO THE 50's
Home is definitely early 50's but well kept and fun way to step back in time. Very good place to stay. Ideal for a couple or single due to very good master bed/ bedroom and bath. More than that would have to use fold out/pull out beds/couches in other rooms. I did not try them out for comfort. Also, no TV... which was refreshing and encouraged my reading and enjoyment on backporch/deck where cottontail bunnies, birds and fox kept me company during mornings and evenings.
Excellent setting on edge of busy metro area. Easy access to thoroughfares and freeways. Ranch style home set on 3+ acres of farmland...very private and secure. Vickie was excellent to deal with and went out of her way to accommodate my requests...also met Doug whom I found to be very friendly and responsive. Would stay there again in future and believe my wife would enjoy it also.
Kent was a delightful guest! Easy to communicate with and respectful of the property. He and his wife are welcome back anytime!
I loved the privacy, being able to cook and eat outside, the shower and having an entire house for less than a hotel room. The entire process was easy. I would highly recommend this 50's Charmer.
So glad that this worked for you and your group! Thank you for your lovely review and pointing out what worked and what you liked about our place. We hope you will be back to visit again--
All the best,
Doug & Vickie
Great location, close to everything but also secluded and private.
We enjoyed the Bligh House and its history. Great place to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing activities. The place was very comfortable despite no a/c. Would suggest another fan for the game room should someone stay on the sofa bed.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and that the location worked for your needs.
Sorry that the lack of air conditioning seemed such a concern. (It is mentioned on the description of the home that there is no television, garbage disposal or air conditioning given the age of the home). We actually have multiple fans for other rooms, should a guest request one. I just don't put them around the house.
All the best,
Doug & Vickie
The Bligh Ranch is a perfect location for any number of activities! Although the ranch is situated on 3.5 acres and feels remote, all the best of Littleton and Denver await at the end of the driveway. Minutes away in charming downtown Littleton are restaurants (The Melting Pot, Romano's Italian Restaurant and The Platte River Grill), wine bars (Kate's and Legacy Winery), breweries (Breckenridge Brewery and Locavore Beer Works), and even an Irish Pub---Ned Kelly's. Main Street in Littleton is a fun place to shop, eat and drink. In addition, you can take a yoga class, attend a community theatre performance and stroll through our art gallery which features local artists. Check out Hudson Gardens, an arboretum with lovely walking paths and concerts in the summer. There are two shopping malls in either direction. Aspen Grove hosts The Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, Sees Candies, The Tattered Cover Bookstore and the Alamo Draft House Cinema, along with a variety of specialty shops and restaurants. Head west and you will find Southwest Plaza, a traditional, large mall. Dillards, Macy's and Penney's are neighbors to H&M, The I Love Denver Store and a bowling/amusement arcade. Of course, lots of restaurants; The Cheesecake Factory, Chili's and Big Daddy's Burger Bar, to name a few. The nearest golf course and tennis courts are approximately 8 minutes from the ranch. There are two parks (Bear Creek Lake Park and Chatfield) nearby that offer boating, swimming, paddle boarding, fishing and horseback riding. Don't forget, Red Rocks, the world-famous amphitheatre is a mere twenty minutes away. Best concert experience ever! Putting all of this in writing, makes me stop and realize how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful, special place! And this isn't even touching what is happening in the rest of the Denver area! More on that later--- Any questions or recommendations? Doug and I are here for you!
