It's an easy drive to Clemson, Cashiers, Lake Keowee, Lake Jocassee, Long Creek, Walhalla, several waterfalls, and much more. Greenville is about an hour. It sits next to Sumpter National Forest for great hiking. Lake Cherokee is a private lake and only insured owners are allowed boats but we have a row boat, and a canoe, which are usually available to share with our guests. Clear water, fishing, (catch and release bream, abut keep small bass and any size carp). Beautiful mountain vistas make this an unforgettable family or couples getaway. Sit by a campfire in the evening or just enjoy the solitude from your deck or the dock.

About Barbara or David Dollner
We are a retired couple and live across the lake from this listing so we are available to problem solve, offer assistance, give directions or just make your stay as pleasant as possible. But don't worry we aren't nosy neighbors!
Barbara or David Dollner purchased this Cottage in 2016
Why Barbara or David Dollner chose Oconee County
This is a small peaceful lake. Property owners are allowed insured ski boats, pontoons, etc so you will see these but renters are not allowed to bring their own boat or other water craft . We have a row boat, canoe, youth kayaks to loan. If you would like a trolling motor you may bring your own small electric one for either the canoe or row boat. We have on to rent as well.
What makes this Cottage unique
We are next to Sumpter National Forest. Waterfalls, hiking, white water rafting, Cashiers, The Highlands, are all close by. Several lake owners are Clemson fans which is a short drive so it is a great spot to gather and attend a Clemson game. It is great for two couples or a small family.

Little slice of paradise
Barbara and David could not have be more gracious host. This is a perfect little place if you are looking for a place to come, disconnect, enjoy a slower pace few days. Cottage has everything you need and Baraba is few doors down and there to help with anything you may need. Mattresses are new and this place is spotless. Neighbors are all full time resident and they all super nice and helpful. The access to the lake and water is just perfect and you easily get around the lake in the canoe. Plenty of fish in the lake which helps when you have kids who love to fish. There is a lot to do (outside activities) within 45 min drive of the cottage. We appreciate the opportunity to come down and unplug last week and look forward to coming back.
Cozy and Clean
This was the ideal getaway location for us. It was cozy, quiet and clean. Everything was exactly as represented on the website. Also, the owner was very accommodating and helpful.
Amazing house on an amazing lake with amazing hosts.
Hosts live close by, so you can expect super-clean accommodations as well as personalized assistance, as needed, but also privacy. The house is modern and stylish, and the lake is clear and beautiful. A truly memorable experience!
Thanks for the complimentary review1 And thanks too for being such great guests. We welcome you back any time and hope you can stay longer to enjoy more of the fun times at the lake and in this area.
My husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary at this sweet little cottage on Lake Cherokee. We stayed for three nights and loved the water, the canoe, the accommodations, and especially the peace and quiet. We were there mid-week, so there might be more water traffic on a weekend, but we were lucky to have our entire cove just to ourselves. Barbara and Dave, the owners, live full-time just a few homes over. They were very welcoming, and by the time we left, we felt like they were new friends. Their labradoodle Molly was a sweetheart! The cottage was completely comfortable. We prepared most of our own meals there, but we did have dinner at Habaneros one evening. We enjoyed sunshine for our first two days, which was perfect for floating and canoeing. By the third day, it was overcast, so we spent the day visiting Highlands and Cashiers. Dry Falls was our favorite spot on our day trip away. It was a wonderful get-away. We hope to return next summer!
We loved having you! Any one would be lucky to have you as guests/renters! Thanks for giving a shout out to Habanero's. Folks here one the lake are happy to have such a great place close by and we really want them to make a go of it.
We do hope you will come again. You found some good places to explore but there are lots more waiting!
Perfect location and get away
Thank you for relaxing accommodations on the lake in the middle of mother nature's playground!
Exactly as described, perfect vacation, wonderful hosts
Barbara and David were there to meet us when we arrived. Coordination prior to arrival was great, Barbara provided directions and tips for where to get groceries. The house was just as described, two bedrooms, one very large bathroom, a full kitchen, living room, dining area, and deck. The bedroom with the queen bed has a cute balcony. Barbara has decorated and outfitted the place with everything you need. There were plenty of towels and linens and the kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans, dishes, utensils and gadgets. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept great. Our party included myself, my three kids (teen/pre-teen), and my mom. We made our Eclipse viewing into a long weekend vacation and this was the perfect spot for both. The kids loved taking the kayaks and canoe out on the lake, they even talked grandma (my mom) into adventuring out in the canoe. We went up to the Fish Hatchery on Saturday, and I recommend checking out this site. In addition to the hatchery where you can feed the fish there are several trails around the hatchery. The trails are shaded and well marked and are an easy hike. We will definitely be back again when eclipse mania isn't taking over the area so we can check out more of the local sites. I highly recommend this home, the location, and the hosts!
Thank you Holly for such a nice review. You were wonderful guests. I loved your kids...polite, fun... a reflection on you as a mom! I would welcome you back any time! Anyone would be lucky to rent to you!
