Breezeswept (post Irma)
We had a fun and interesting winter on Ramrod. Tracie and Pete are attentive owners. They were always concerned and caring, truly nice people. There Bungalow has the perfect location for a peaceful experience. We stay on Ramrod Key every year, this year was a little different as we decided to pitch in and help clean up after the heartbreaking hurricane the residents endured. It's pretty much back to normal, or better. We kayaked and biked, and then head for the Looe Key Tiki bar, less than a mile away. (What more could you ask for after a certain age? Health, good luck, and Ramrod Key.)
Thank you Tom and Lynn! We had a great time hosting you and are thrilled you enjoyed the property to the max. Hope to have you again!
Awesome Accommodations and Hosts!
I come to Ramrod Key every spring to fish the tarpon migration. I knew this year things were going to be a little different after the brunt of Irma crossed over the island. I contacted Pete and Tracie to inquire about the Tarpon Bungalow for my annual trip. I let them know my needs, and they informed me that the house was back in tip top shape but the dock was unusable. They then informed me that they would rig up a temporary dock for my stay. Just prior to my trip I received a call from Tracie informing me that a barge had wiped out the temporary dock, and she was calling to give me enough time to book another house if this would cause issues with my trip. I told her that I really would like to stay there, but not having a dock would be a problem. Tracie then told me that she’d look into getting another temporary dock put in for me and that she’d get back to me. I do a lot of night fishing and asked Tracie if the reflectors were still up on the channel markers leading out from the end of the island. She said that she’d get back to me on this as well. About a week or so later, she contacted me to say that another temporary dock would in place for my use and that she took her kayak out and photographed the pilings for me. These guys went over and above the call of duty to make sure that whatever I needed would be taken care of! The house itself was immaculate. Everything needed for an extended stay away from home is provided and in top working order.
I cannot recommend Pete and Tracie’s Tarpon Bungalow enough and am already looking forward to next year’s trip!
Perfect! Enjoyed sitting out in the screened in porch, without being sceterr bait. Not all places have screened in porches. Loved watching the boats comming, and going into the cannel. The channel is right there. Super easy access out into the ocean. There's also a sand bar straight out. Fun to hang out, and meet other boaters. Also Looe key reef is a very short boat ride away. Bring your boat. And if u don't have one, there are two kyacks that are great. This place has all the comforts of home. We loved it! Paul&Jerri
I love the location and the property itself
The property is excellent. We had a great time while we stayed here and I would highly recommend this two other vacationers. Pete and Tracy are great homeowners that will go out of their way to you assist you or take care of whatever you need family and I are able to kayak everyday being only one house from up with water and kayaks Bean provided with a rental it was something that we had fun doing probably one of our favorite Parts besides the sunrises and sunsets. If I had an opportunity return to the Florida Keys this would be the first place I would check to see if it was available to stay at.
A wonderful place to stay
We really enjoyed our monthly stay at the Tarpon Bungalo, VRBO # 950617.
The owners, Tracie and Pete were extremely helpful with the various steps in securing our reservation and providing varied information. The unit has been completely redone and is furnished with absolutely everything a guest would need for their stay.
The porch provides a beautiful view of the channel which leads directly into the ocean. The two kayaks provided enabled us to have a lot of fun. Downstairs on the ground level is a refrigerator for bait, beer, etc. A gas and also a charcoal grill are also there along with a fish cleaning table and an outdoor shower. The interior is quite nice with nautical themes throughout. The appliances were first rate and included a washer and dryer, dishwasher, micro, and stove. Again, the owners were simply great to deal with. I would recommend this property without reservation.

Nature preserve across the street for bird watching and spectacular sunsets. Occasional Key Deer also come through and many other types of wildlife. Will see manatees off the dock during the winter months. Excellent location for boating, fishing and water sports.
