Fun, whimsical, fairy tale cottage.
Comfortable, clean, uniquely decorated charming cottage, located within walking distance of stores, restaurants and cute boutiques. Very quiet street lined with gorgeous mature landscaping and very elegant homes. Our dog loved the large fenced in yard.
I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants to try a different sleeping experience than the typical classic hotel .
Wonderful location in the Washington Park area.
You are blocks from that gorgeous park, perfect for walking your pet. Great dining and a wonderful coffee shop just blocks up the street on Gaylord. So close to Cherry Creek shopping area as well.
The property itself is like a Martha Stewart garden!
Plum trees, gorgeous grape vines, raspberries and strawberries.
We can't say enough how much we enjoyed our stay.
Very comfortable home, we will definitely pick this property again when visiting Denver.
Ann Morgan was very accommodating allowing us to check in early after our long car trip from Dallas. Thank you again
Cute place & Great Location
We had a wonderful trip. This was a very cute place in a beautiful neighborhood with walking distance to great restaurants. We didn’t even rent a car.
Very cozy and comfortable. We’d stay again.
Great location but had AC issues
Our stay here was off to a bit of a rough start with the AC being off (on one of the hottest days to date in Denver) and not being able to reach Ann for hours. We went to the store and purchased fans and popsicles (anything to help cool us off since it was over 90 in the house) Once we did hear from Ann, and the AC was hooked back up, everything was much better and she was much more responsive the rest of our time there. The house is charming and is in an amazing location - we didn't drive anywhere the entire weekend and were able to walk to Gaylord Street for almost all our meals. I believe we experienced just a series of unfortunate events (AC off, extremely hot day in Denver, traveling with a 7mo old who couldn't nap due to the heat in the house, not being able to reach Ann for a while), and sadly, these did put a damper on the overall trip.
Lovely home, great neighborhood , gracious host, excellent dog yard... couldn’t be happier
Delightful Washington Park cottage in Denver
The cottage is indeed a charming one with pretty gardens. The inside is clean with everything that you could want for your stay. The only drawback for us was the bed which could do with an upgrade. The Washington Park area is absolutely the place to stay when visiting Denver.
Located in central Denver the Washington Park Neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful. This property is an oasis in the heart of the city. Washington Park, is Denver's first suburb and has quiet, tree lined streets nestled among a host of bungalows and cottages with manicured lawns. The neighborhood harkens back to a bygone era in its friendliness, charm and relaxed pace.
Washington Park East is often compared to "Mayberry". It is Denver's first suburb and until the 1950s a trolly car ran from downtown to Old South Gaylord Street's bustling retail area (located only one and a half blocks due south).
THE HOUSE IS LOCATED IN WALKERS PARADISE:
Due west, (six shorts blocks) is the wildly popular, historic Washington Park. Its 160 acres encompass several gardens, large open green areas, the childhood home of poet Eugene Field and three ponds (one of which is a children’s fishing pond). Paddle boats and bikes are available to rent. Jogging paths, tennis and bocce courts can be used for your enjoyment.
Due south, (1.5 blocks) is the vibrant Old South Gaylord Street retail area which includes several excellent restaurants: Washington Park Grill, Max’s and Reiver's to name a few. The Devil’s Food Bakery, art galleries, original boutiques and gift shops are worth a look. The Tended Thicket is not to be missed, if you are gardener or just love gift giving.
Due northeast, (1.5 blocks) is the Bonnie Brae retail area including the beloved Bonnie Brae Ice Cream. The Bonnie Brae retail area also has a liquor store, gas station, library, dry cleaners, more restaurants and a French bakery.
Denver Metro: Denver University (2 miles), Cherry Creek Shopping District ( 1 mile), Downtown and Larimer Square (2.5 miles), Performing Arts Center (2.5 miles), Denver Zoo, Museum of Natural History, the Denver Art Museum and the Golden Triangle (2 miles), Denver Botanical Gardens (2 miles) and more… Coors Field, Bronco Stadium, Tech Center, Elitch’s Amusement Park…easy access to the light rail stations and citywide bike paths. If you are visiting during the winter months, the major ski resorts are within a couple of hours by car. During the summer months the ski resorts are now providing trail bike riding.
