Peace, privacy, and fishing: If you’re seeking any or all of those for your next getaway, you’ll love Brook Trout Chalet. Not only is the 2-bedroom cabin located in a quiet woodland setting, but it’s also right next to a stream filled with trout. You can roll out of bed and fish from your deck—and then you can cook your catch right there on the charcoal grill.
While on the deck you can also luxuriate in the hot tub. A soak among the steamy bubbles as wrens and warblers sing is a pampering way to start the day; a soak at night under the stars while owls hoot in the distance is a magical way to draw it to a close. And when you return to Brook Trout Chalet after hiking, skiing, or biking, you’ll relish a soak as a way to soothe your weary muscles.
The restful ambiance continues indoor. Decorated in lush neutrals, the living room includes a plush sofa and padded ottomans so that everyone can comfortably gather to watch TV, play Pictionary, or enjoy drinks by the gas fireplace. The dining room table seats 6, and like the living room it boasts large windows that let in the fresh mountain breeze and the gentle burble of the creek.
A breakfast area off the kitchen provides another gathering spot, with a table for 2 and a long bench that can accommodate several more. The kitchen itself includes all the appliances, cookware, tableware, and other accoutrements you’ll need, whether you’re channeling your inner Iron Chef or simply reheating leftovers from the previous evening’s restaurant meal.
The 2 bedrooms and a 3rd sleeping area are upstairs. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed and is decorated in charming rustic fashion. The 2nd bedroom includes a pair of queen beds and antique furnishings that, along with the sloped ceiling, add to the farmhouse allure. This bedroom also has French doors that open onto the upper deck, where you can savor your morning coffee or evening cocktail while gazing out at the storybook surroundings.
Along with the bedrooms is a room with a daybed that can sleep an additional guest. What’s more, the sofa in the downstairs living room opens into a bed for 2, so that Brook Trout Chalet can sleep 9 people in all.
There’s a full bathroom on each floor; for added convenience, Brook Trout Chalet has a washer and dryer too. You’ll arrive to find the beds perfectly made up and plenty of laundered towels and extra bedding, so if you want to start your stay with a rejuvenating shower or nap, you can.
We wouldn’t blame you for spending most of your vacation in and around Brook Trout Chalet—it really is gloriously relaxing and restorative. But the cabin is also well situated so that you’re only a short drive from the area’s most popular attractions. First and foremost is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk. Downtown Gatlinburg is home to restaurants, an aquarium, the Guinness World Records Museum, and plenty more attractions. The cabin is also close to the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art, custom knives to pottery. And let’s not forget Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, Dollywood, outlet shopping, golf, white-water rafting, music revues…
However you while away your days, you’ll love having the blissful quietude of Brook Trout Chalet to return to. So treat yourself to what may be your most rejuvenating vacation yet, and book your stay today.

The steps going up to bedrooms was narrow and straight up and open. Very dangerous. There was no bedding for pull out sofa bed. All of the outlets were loose. Couldn’t plug any thing in outlets because the plug would just fall out. The television was not HD and no stations on xfinity cable. All the light bulbs were very dim. And no 3 way bulbs. Sheets barlely fit the beds....From now on i will stay in a nice motel. I did not love it!
BEAUTIFUL. When using navigation take route from Gatlinburg, road is much better.
Nature at it's best and very clean. Enjoyed sitting on the deck just listening to the stream flow early mornings. Visits from otters in early am was a plus! Spacious house with room for an entire family plus. Close to all things Gatlinburg but great restaurants close by too. Check out The Fox and Parrot - great beer selection and Irish pub food, Three Jimmy's - great smoked pork Taste of Italy - true homemade pizza's!
If you are looking for the Taj Mahal, keep scrolling but if you are looking to stay just out of all the noise in a clean place, enjoy nature with a short drive to any and everything plus hidden gems, this is the place for you! We will be back - Thanks JMH for making this rental available, clean and enjoyable!
While there were a few minor challenges with the house (burner out on stove, toilets backed up easily, coffee pot lid broken) the location was perfect for out visit.
Overall the Chalet was nice. The stairs going to the second story are not standard stairs. They are more like a loft ladder. It didn't cause problems with us, but it might with some families. The stream was pretty and the kids had fun playing in it.
We absolutely loved Brook Trout Chalet. My kids played in the creek that ran in front of the house every single day. I, however, used the hot tube every night after hiking the trails in the Smoky Mountains. The house is about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg and the park, which makes restaurants easily accessible. We will definitely be returning in the future. I am sure the scenery in the fall is absolutely beautiful.
